Main Quest: To cut (fat, weight)

First goal: Run 5k in less than 40 minutes

Second goal: Run New Rules of Lifting: Abs program, Phase 1 for the entire challenge, 3x per week.  

Third goal: Do yoga the other two days of the week for the entire challenge.
 

Supporting goal: Continue with the paleo diet 80% or more. 

 

Life Side Quest: Get financial house in order, long term and short term.  Clear out clutter during my vacation days.

 

Motivation: I've got a good thing going here.  The first challenge and the unlimited jump rope challenge have motivated me to get in the gym each time.  I've got people on here now that are holding me accountable and I'm not going to let them or myself down.  NAG42, represent.

Great challenge, Wendy.  You're going to kick butt at it.  Do you have a 5k planned for the end of the race, or just going to run on your own?

Woo hoo!  I'm excited to be in NAG42!  I'm glad you put the link in your sig for accountability buddies, Jess.  Somehow I missed that.... Correcting this RIGHT NOW.

 

I don't have a 5K planned.  Just going to run it on my own unless something compelling comes along.

 

I am all for the group gif.  That would be all kinds of awesome!

I've been introducing my kids to Looney Toons recently.  Cartoons in my house are a serious business.  

 

I DVR the new looney tunes and the classics. Also watching Batman Animated series, Batman Beyond, Justice League, etc. is a regular occurrence on the weekends.

I'm a time traveler, but I can only go one way and only a second at a time.

Alrighty then!  Let's get this workout party started!  I'm moving and grooving thanks to the giffage above.

 

Yesterday:  Yoga, 20 minutes

 

Today: Workout A from NROL-Abs

Dynamic Warmup
Bent-over thoracic extension and rotation 10 each direction
Squat to stand 5
Forward/backward jump 10 each direction
Crossover walking toe touch 10-20 yards
Lateral jump 10 each direction
Lateral cross behind lunge 10-20 yards each direction
Seal jack 10
Reverse inch worm 10
Forward/backward hop 10 each direction, each leg
Curtsy lunge 10 each direction
Straight leg run 10-20 yards repeated once
Side shuffle with arm cross 10-20 yards repeated once

Butt kick 10-20 yards repeated once

 

Core Stabilization
Front Plank - 2x30seconds
Side Plank - 30seconds each side

Strength
DB Split Squat - 2x10: 15, 20
Inverted Row - 2x12
DB Romanian Deadlifts - 2x12: 20
Push-ups - 2x12

 

That was something!  I was sweating at the end of this one.  Feels good to be running this plan again.  Now I need to figure out when to get some runs in to work toward that 5k goal!

Kickass goals, Wendy! You've inspired me to work toward 5k (actually running the whole way, which I currently don't do, lol).

 

Are you liking NROL?

Thank you!  I do really like the NROL program.  It's a good whole body type thing whereas last challenge I was doing a lot more isolation type lifts.  They're both fun and useful but I like to switch it up every once in a while.  Shock those muscles! :)

I definitely don't wear heels much anymore since I work at home and don't have to go visit customers.  I do like how they make my calves look though :)

 

Thank you - I am pretty pleased with where I'm headed.  I think I mostly need to lean out now while keeping the muscle I have.  Patience and persistence!
