I'm the chick in the back.

This is toward the end. Team weights at the front for this.

And no my knees are not on the ground. If you look you can tell. I did not do a single kneeling push-up this GoRuck. Nice.

The dude in blue was the guy I carried for quit a ways. Nice guy.

I have more pics but I gotta get to a real computer to post.

I AM going the distance

'Cause all I wanna do is go the distance. Nobody's ever gone the distance with Creed, and if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood.

I'll give more of a recap when I have a keyboard but quickly, I had a team weight the entire time. I started with a ruck of about 30 rolls of quarters, carried up to three rucks AND the 60# sandbag for a couple miles! was the only woman buddy carrying (not being carried - I'm too big for that), and pulled the team weight (a grown man in a red wagon) for about two miles while carrying extra rucks.

It was a tough challenge with a lot of low crawling. Low crawling without legs.... Ugh.

Luckily, aside from a bit of trap soreness, two bruised knees, and an abrasion on my elbow, I feel just fine.

So Muay Thai tonight after flight home.

I know it's been said before, but it bears repeating, you are a total bad ass!!!

I went in w 2 goals: No knee pushups and extra weight at all times. I started w one team weight, finished w another. I'm really proud.

Btw, when we started, it was below 40 deg. When we were wet, it was prob still under 40.

I did not pants tin man.

The nerds worked so hard. Bigm and tin man did tons of buddy carries, Laura always had extra weight, but nightlight.... we were on the same team doing legless low crawls. And we won and that shit was hard.

Nerds are tough. I'm so glad we did this.

We are all pretty stars.

Pardon typos, I'm eating jerky.

I also can't help but notice your ass doesn't completely crowd everything else out of shot, so I call shenanigans.  I think it may actually be regular sized after all.  Too bad about the pantsing but that go ruck stuff looks great. :)

Last night: Muay Thai!!!! Working the straight knee (which is kind of hard for me).

Natrually, it was knees. I was on my way there and told spousal unit: as long as we don't do knees, I'll be good bc mine are banged up.

Weeeeellllllll.... Knees. Doh. So much slamming my bruised knees into my partner. Oh and the pre fighting conditioning? Ugh. Jumping lunges which we did a ton of at the ruck light. And push-ups? So easy without a ruck and team weight!! Woot.

The class after us was warming up w bear crawls and low military crawls.... Heh. That's what you get w a vet as a coach. Too funny. Their faces were priceless. Coach looked at one and said : I can't help you. I said: I spent all day Saturday doing that with a. Weighted ruck... Lol.

Back to work today. Booooo

I'll preview pics and decide if any are post worthy. My fried said I had some priceless facial expressions. Great.

You Madame are a monster! It's awesome you set your own goals for the ruck on top of finishing.

^ what she said

Thanks!  That's nice.  I'm trying to improve in my rucks.

To be fair, all the pushups were hand release pushups, so still easier than reg.  But I didn't drop to my knees.  All the pushups must be done together so it's really slow, hand release is the best way to go.

Challenge updates:

1.  CANI

  • take a minimum of 2 private sessions in Muay Thai this challenge

I did one on my trip.  I'm not going to count my boxing lesson.

3.  Emotional Control

  •  no nuts
  • No beer for fun

I traveled and ate well at the airport, etc.  Salad (a terrible one YUCK) and carrots at the airport.  I wanted nuts as a snack for the plane so I didn't starve and die but I did not buy any.  I had water on the plane and that was it.  How I managed to come out alive is beyond me.

Last night after Muay Thai I had to run a community meeting.  These people wear me out and they made poor decisions about the budget.  After, we needed to eat (and have no food thawed b/c trip) so we hit the pub.  There were screechy women and super loud seriously annoying people there from some sports league. WHY WHY WHY do younger women all need to screech?  STOP it.  I had such a damned headache.

Anyhow, spousal unit ordered beer.  I hated him.  I ordered a crappy glass of wine.  But the good thing is I won't feel lousy today.  So win I guess.... (sucks)

4.  The spirit of a warrior

  • Sign up for a seminar in something related to Muay Thai or lifting or something – out of my comfort zone, don’t over think it.
  • Test up in Muay Thai
  • explore new fighting class at MMA gym

I accidentally signed up to test up in Muay Thai.  I think I posted that earlier.  ugh.

I signed up for a seminar after some back and forth with myself and coach.  Seminar isn't until spring but I'm now completely terrified

And before I knew what I was doing, I'd raised my hand when coach was asking about interest in the new fighting course.  What the hell???  I'm not sure how interested I am b/c I think it's extra money and something would have to give.  So I don't know.  BUT I heard it's really hard and really rough and tough - much bodily damage.  So, maybe...  But they don't have many details yet, so I don't know more.

How did you accidentally sign up???

I know.  See the thing is I want to do it.  I really really really do.  So I clicked the link without really thinking, letting that tiny part of me make decisions.

BUT my preferred MO is to ponder, over think, over analyze, whip myself into  massive self doubt and insecurity, convince myself that not only can I not do it but that I'll be a massive failure and basically put the whole thing off until the last minute.

So I clicked the link and filled it out and meant to not submit... but I did.  Now I'm trying to not over think.

Cline, I just have to say that I think you are a total bad ass. I know I've told you that a million times but you seriously are. You inspire me so much in so many ways. I am so glad to "know" you and I can't wait to meet you in January.

Totally agree.

/me is a bit misty eyed....

Thanks guys.  Really.  I don't feel that way most of the time.  It helps that you guys are so supportive.

I go through my workouts and think "well that was shit I'm a loser" and it takes a lot of effort to find something positive in them.  I try to note positive things just so I remind myself.

And emcee - January is ours!!!!
