Only a Few Can Call Themselves a New Year Badass!

badass (bad · ass) n., pl -es 1. Someone who lives life free of any excuses they could make, no matter how legitimate those excuses may appear to be. 2. Welcome! Do you think your Badass enough to make a transformation before the New Year arrives. After all the upcoming holidays and cold weather would make others put their goals on the shelves, because the New Year is when you make changes right? WRONG! And that's what we're all about, changes start now! We don't give excuses, and we don't take them either.

 

 

As of now there are only 8 weeks till January 1st. What can you accomplish before then?

 

Whoever joins will be part of a team, we encourage one another, help out when we're stuck, and kick each other into gear when our focus and will is wavering.

When you join, please write down your New Year defying goals. They don't have to be weight loss, it can be anything. After all, don't you want to start the next year already ready and able to kick 2014 in the ass?

Welcome! I'm glad to have you guys! I posted all the member's challenges so we can see how we're all doin!

 

 

Gain 5 pounds of muscle.

 

Dude, I LOVE the pics you chose for your challenge! That Balrog creature gave me chills :redface:

 

And your goals will get you that 5 pounds of muscle, just keep eating right and lifting heavy!

I squatted 85lbs Wednesday and deadlifted 90lbs in Monday.

I squatted 85lbs Wednesday and deadlifted 90lbs in Monday.

Nice! Have you thought about 5x5 to increase the pounds? I tried it for a while and it works!

Yea that's what I'm doing. I started with just body weight squats a couple of weeks ago, so I'm making great progress

Be able to run 5k without stopping or slowing down.

 

Welcome! I to have a similar goal, I love running but my lungs and legs just can't keep up with me. But one of these days I'll just run and run without tiring or stopping.

Hey BadAss Rebels!                                                 Thanks for putting this one together LostOne.

 

New Year Ability: the regular push up

 

I have great strength in a lot of places, but I'm not focused enough on taking things to the next level... until now. So, before the ball drops in NYC, I will do 5 regular push ups in a row.

 

I can do 4 female push ups at this point. I can also do 3 sets of 5 incline push ups at waist height. So... Off to go practice!

This is my entire challenge goal! To be able to do 20 push ups on my feet. I can do 20 from my knees - not easily, but I can!

We will totally do this, I know it :D

Hey, anyone wear wrist wraps for lifting? I saw strength wraps-like products... And then I saw Wonder Woman ones and my little nerdy heart skipped a beat. Worth it? I haven't had any major discomfort during lifting only soreness afterwards from getting used to gripping the bar and holding weight.

Hey, anyone wear wrist wraps for lifting? I saw strength wraps-like products... And then I saw Wonder Woman ones and my little nerdy heart skipped a beat. Worth it? I haven't had any major discomfort during lifting only soreness afterwards from getting used to gripping the bar and holding weight.

 

I don't do any major lifting - I don't have the capability to at my university gym - however, I wear wrist straps for everything because I have an RSI on my right wrist, and have sprained my left twice. So I'm very interested in Wonder Woman straps!

Teri! Glad your joining us!!

 

Hey W4DM, what do you use wrist wraps for? I've never used them and I lift heavy, my deadlift record so far is 110#.

 

 

Any more room left in this squad?

Wrist wraps for lifting! Just wrist support to keep your wrist straight. I don't use them but when I saw those I had to share. I'm thinking about trying them out. They are more geared towards crossfit bc you can tighten and loosen for heavy lifting, push-ups, etc by twisting and don't hafta take them off.
