I want to weigh less than 90kg's on December 31.

I am 93.3kg's today and while 3.3 doesn't seem much over the next 7 weeks the sting in the tail is that I have to be less than on the 31st not just at sometime beforehand which means that I have to negotiate Christmas and still hit my target.

I'm new to this whole thing and this seems like an awesome group.  Any room for one more person?

Welcome! Welcome, make yourself at home! What's your before New Year goal?

Hey! If it's ok with you guys, this looks like the Accountabillibuddies group for me. I like Badasses.

Here's my Before New Year goal:

Stick to Paleo, Stick to Crossift and Lose at least 10 lbs.

Quoting myself from my original Goal Thread,

"Why am I doing this? I'm motivated by...

  • My own identity. I enjoy feeling like a good looking badass, not a "kinda pretty if she lost a few pounds" non-badass."

So... Badassness resonates with me for sure!

I want to fit into a certain blouse in my closet for New Year's Eve, right now it's too tight in bust and upper arms. I think I can do it!!

I'll be posting stats once every other day and a diet report on Sundays of every week.

Oh oh I'm here, I'm just a little late! My goals are:

- Get to notch #6 on my favorite belt (currently on #5)

- Run 10k without stopping.

I'll likely be out of town/my standard routine until the end of this year, so I'm going to focus more on body weight routines and running since I can do those without consistent access to a gym. Therefor I'll be working on endurance, maintaining my current strength, and reducing my over all size.

WOW! I can see where the Marine urge comes from :)

I'm giving a shout out to my grandma Audrey Leonard, who's still with us, who was a telegraph typist as part of the WAF during WW2. She met my grandad, Flight Engineer as part of Bomber Command Eugene Leonard. He flew on 38 missions, during WW2, and to me, he was awesome, even if I never got to meet him.

My goal is to lose body fat and so I've started a program that I've kind of tweeked to my liking as far as types of lifts and activities but in general do you guys think this is a pretty good schedule: Sun:upper and cardio Mon:Cardio Intervals and core Tues:Lower and cardio Wed:Upper and cardio Thurs: Cardio Interals and core Fri: Rest Sat:Lower and cardio and core.

So basically 2 lower days/week, 2 upper days/week, 3 core days/week, 6 cardio days/week (20-30 min. of intervals on either treadmill, eliptical or stairmill), 1 full body rest day

I know some people might say to rest one more day but I've tried that and I tend to lose my momentum so I think and extra easy cardio day just to keep the momentum going is ok.

Any feedback, advice, or recommendations?

I think this sounds awesome :) if it works for you then that's really all that matters. Just make sure your diet reflects what you're wanting. There's no point doing all that then eating a ton of rubbish :)

I'm with missrebecca, if your goal is to lose bodyfat then your focus needs to be on your fuel much more than on your furnace. You obviously want to strike a good balance between the two but a good balance has you leaning much more towards focussing on input.

I think you should get moving as much as you can but don't burn out. Rest days are important. you won't be able to out exercise a bad diet. I think you should attack it from two fronts. Start with diet and eliminating some dirty calories, and exercise to further burn more. I think you'll feel better eating less and working out 3-4days a week, than eating dirty and working out everyday. In fact even eating less and working out a lot makes me feel too spread out, weak. Like I hafta eat more just to function, which works, but is not a good headspace to maintain. And I like keeping my mind sharp;-)

I'm definetly trying to clean up my diet as well.  I've been eating Paleo and tracking everything on My Fitness Pal.  I'm finding that it's much easier to stay  within my calorie goal when doing it with Paleo foods because they stick with me much longer than fake or diet foods I've tried in the past.  Sugar is my biggest down fall so I'm hoping I can stick with cutting out the sugar and get past the cravings and hopefully the longer I go without sugar the less I will crave them.  I'm finding if I treat it like an allergy or an addiction then maybe I wont "justify" eating the bad foods as much:)  Any suggestions on healthy foods that satify the sugar cravings?  Fruit doesn't really cut it although last night I had an apple with some maple almond butter, only 3 grams of sugar in the almond butter, and that was pretty tasty.

Oooo, another Sugar Slayer! What I did to get over cravings was eat anything but sugar. Sometimes you have to be creative or just look online, most of the time it's just mental you know, missing out on cookies or cakes. I'm making this when I get the stuff!

How was everyone's first day on the challenge?

Oh and I keep forgetting to post my before New Year goal: Lose 10 lb.

My ultimate goal is to lose 20 lb. before my race in January but I'll be happy with 10! Then it's just 40 more and I can sign up!

Starting in on this a little late. I did not see a listing for this group on the sign up sheet. Otherwise I would have been all over it. Great group, Lost. And I am happy to be able to be a part of it with you.

My goal is to be down to 220 before I get home for Christmas. I have no idea where I stand right now, because I have no scale at my apartment, but I will be excited to see the numbers when I go home for Christmas.

So, I think I got all caught up on everyone's challenges yesterday! WHEW! some fabulous goals!

These are the ones I was lookin at:
http://prwraps.com/shop/index.php/wrist-wraps/wwsupport.html

But there are these
http://www.etsy.com/listing/125303859/wod-style-retro-wonder-woman-wrist-wraps

And more all over the interwebz. They are inexpensive enough to try out I'll give u that... Or did I just justify an impulse buy? Lol. There are some awesome ones if u look hard enough

Veronica

You need these! I need these! Whether they help or not. A little TMI maybe, but I have Wonder Woman underwear that I wear everytime we do a Hero WOD in Crossfit, just cause they make me that little bit more badass!  These would totally do the same thing!

I feel like my goal of "weigh less than 200lbs" is not specific enough seeing as I'm on Nerd Fitness and all...so here it is.

I'm hovering around 205 right now...I want to focus on crossfit 4/week....this will most likely be 3 often because my nephews hockey is usually at the same time on Saturdays and it's super important to me that I be there.  And ofcourse my food....working out is nothing without healthy food...so no more buying anything processed and only eating it here and there because A there is still some in my house and I hate throwing out food and B someone else is serving it to me for dinner.

Today's Stats (every 2 days as promised):

177 lbs

waist 35.75

hips 41.5

bust 39.5

upper arm 14.25

thigh 26

I did Crossfit last night

Stuck to the diet, except I had bad carb flu and I ate a bunch of Golean cereal night before last.

Yesterday I ate a lot of calories, but no carbs.

Feeling much better and more energetic today. Going for a bike ride.

It's not 80% diet, 20% exercise, it's 100% diet, 100% exercise. Give it your all.
