Well, today wasn't quite the super-busy day I had planned - I wasn't really up to a long run (slight cough/headache situation) but I did a short one in the morning and some bw rows, then in the afternoon I went out with the artist formerly known as 18ckette and now known as Flyer 17 or Fever Crumb as the mood takes her. We did a sort of long, running obstacle course - run to one site, do some balancing squeeze through a fence, run some more, jump over a puddle, do some pull ups and step ups, sprint a bit, do more balancing and some handstands, followed by a long run up and down steps. I think it was about 1k in total, and much more fun than a normal run.

Oh, and in case you're wondering how much change fell out of my pockets, the answer is £1.40. And in case you're wondering why I had change in my pockets while I was running, I have no idea.

:-) well, it's just a thought. She's interested in NF and some of the people on it (you and Shortstuff for example, because your names are funny, and German because of his Shrek/Monkey transformation). She's got a couple of sporty things in mind for the future and I thought it would help to have a framework for her training. I dunno. Maybe maybe not. I'll see what she says.

Well that was fun. I seem to be a scout, druid, assassin at heart, depending on which hero I favor at the end. It's a hard choice when you admire/enjoy at least one charcter from each group.

Oh and there are soooooo many heroes that could have been added... And books (no Born To Run???) but I guess making it comprehensive would also make it a bit unwieldy!

18ck's adventures in Handstandland*

I repeated my tree handstand and got a bit higher while out with my homey, Flyer 19. I tried doing a pushup in that pose and my brain almost fell out of my nose. We also got some kick-up practice too, just to get the hang of the sensation. I think I hit about 80 degrees but who knows - maybe it was more like 20**. Oh and I did some crow - posing, which seemed like a relevant balancing exercise.

So far, I've been eating sensibly, but a bit light on Portuguese work. I've done some more handstands, completed week 4,day 1 of the pushup challenge, and done a 30 minutes ergo. No running yet. No running for ages. Tch! What kind of scout am I? One with a tickly cough! I might try to run tomorrow morning (*Yoda voice* Run or Run not - there is no might try) and swim in the evening (did I mention we have no hot water? I need to do something with a shower involved!)

The boiler is 15 feet from the outside wall and goes over a bedroom. Blah blah blah new building regs. Basically trying to find someone who will do it for less than £4500 and without laying waste to the flat. Meanwhile, there are kettles and flannels and what-not.
