Gobnait Posted November 8, 2013 Report Share Posted November 8, 2013 Time to stop laying in the ditch simply because I fell. 1. Account for my actions of the day. Instead of asking "did I do enough," I'm going to focus on certain tasks and keep track of how long since I last did them. I've got a sense of how often I need to do certain things. Occasional rest days and lite days are fine. I need to work on daily house maintenance, and some weird big projects. I'm trying to decide on a showering goal, but it seems like a waste of water if I'm not planning to leave the house that week. 2. Eat the equivalent of a full restaurant meal every day, at least half of the food being "real." My appetite has not been good, and I've gone off-diet in an attempt to make feeding myself easier. MSG's addictive properties aren't stimulating my hunger enough, and what passes for convenience food is not doing me any favors nutrition-wise. I've at least got to cook the food before I decide I don't want to eat. (Leftovers are good, unless all I have handy are eggs.) The full restaurant meal translates to about twice my comfortable stomach capacity. I feel that two heavy meals per day is acceptable if one of them is breakfast or brunch. 3. Most alcohol goes into the ration bottle. There is an experiment involving a bottomless soup bowl. When I'm boredom drinking, pouring directly out of the bottle causes me to loose count. Exceptions are cream liquor or anything else that would be gross to decant, and things that come in small bottles like beer. B. Get my act together enough to have a treadmill computer station. Seriously, I just need to cut a board, maybe drive a few screws or nails, and decide which computer to use. That and have enough energy after kicking the housework's can. Cycled the dishwasher from clean to clean and back to dirty. Swept the sunroom to kitchen. Washed a huge pot that doesn't fit in the dishwasher or the sink. Learned that now either cat will pin me down if I stop moving for too long. Tried to xmas shop for the nephews; I have a few ideas but I'm waiting for the parents to call back. Spent way too long looking for a new minecraft personal world that I like. Ate an underfilled peanut butter an jelly sandwich, microwaveable teriaki beef meal, and a tuna sandwich. Store bought bread isn't real food. Even though the jellly was homemade, it has more sugar than anything else. I give myself props for volume but sarcastic clapping for substance. Didn't decant the wine because I eyeballed the bottle and there was two large glasses left. I use an alpha-grip keyboard so I do not have to sit at a computer. Is a bit of a challenge at first but it will soon become easy. Oooh, expensive. I might experiment with a usb keyboard that I was going to rip apart for a ddr pad if I'm going to do creative Minecraft, but I don't think I'm going to do much typing or proper gaming at the treadmill. It automatically tells you how long it has been since you've done a certain task and you can schedule reminders to pop up on your phone at set intervals. I used to be used to a healthy diet until I stopped eating enough. It should get easier once the husband comes home. He demands real food for dinner so I'll have to have more real food handy. Did you try out the app "Regularly?" It automatically tells you how long it has been since you've done a certain task and you can schedule reminders to pop up on your phone at set intervals. It's pretty handy and I've found that the free version does everything I need. Very smart advice. The app sounds very interesting (I'll try it too!). I might have installed Regularly on my tablet, can't check right now because I didn't realize the charger had come loose from the wall. I decided the easiest thing right now would just be to log on NF and do visual checks on what I've done until I damage control enough to get into a routine again. I had a bad day yesterday. I ate three sandwiches, one tuna salad and two egg salad. Pickle relish is not enough vegetable. I got a bunch of lids and other weird miscellany loaded into the dishwasher and cleaned, so I'm pretty close to zero once I cycle the dishwasher back to dirty. I got one kitchen counter scrubbed, but it doesn't feel clean. I did start the day by decanting the rum, but then I fell into a "just one more" late in the evening. Gobnait Posted November 17, 2013 Author Report Share Posted November 17, 2013 Friday I spent all day in bed again. Started off by nuking a bag of broccoli. It tasted disgusting but I perked up. Made a whitesauce and packaged gnocchi later, it was obnoxiously sweet. Managed to resist the urge to eat salt straight out of the salt shaker. My mouth tasted like pills all day. Saturday, didn't do much of anything. I browned the hamburger that was rotting in my fridge, made a beef stew and chili the laziest way. Had a small bowl of beef stew with toast. Had two beers and a cider. It wasn't even a hangover, my nerves get all jangly when that happens. I just hate the world. This morning I forced myself to have two very small bowlfuls of chili. Even lousy chili shouldn't taste this awful. I have conditions that affect my social awareness. Running has being very useful for me (endorphins, you know), and sometimes going out for a walk improves my mood, too. But when it happens, it's difficult to deal. I showered so that I could get more rum and a cheap frozen turkey... It was rainy and traffickey and I regret leaving the house. I bought a spiral-slice ham, catfood, and some cheap pig-but to get the minimum purchase for the sale on turkey. The place on the corner has a different deal on turkey with a minimum purchase. I might get another one since I regret not buying cheese, potato chips, cookies, and some form of chicken today. I think my current stove can handle pressure-canning chunked turkey, but since it is frozen, I might have a more powerful stove before I attempt the project. I think that I did a sweeping or few and several cycles of the dishwasher since I last checked in. Perhaps a sorting of the mail beyond "pending" and "interesting" to "absolute junk," "probably junk, but saved" "open and put into the probably-junk-but-saved pile," "I owe my dentist money," and the almost-nonexistent "Hubby needs to know about" pile. I'm waiting to hear how you do with your treadmill computer station - I'm thinking of doing that next challenge and am wondering how yours will work out for you. I am building up a new to-do list, just don't have the confidence to do a lot of the stuff that's more important than a treadmill desk while hubby's away. Having the days melt away while just keeping note about what month it is it's very relaxing. I have conditions that affect my social awareness.
