Unfortunately our co-leader Ash is having some health issues, so I have decided to setup our thread in the meantime and hope she gets better soon! I haven't heard from Hero for awhile and understand he has been pretty busy.

 

I am Vixen and this will be my third challenge,  both with Nerd Fitness and the Brigade and looking forward to smashing some more goals with you all this time around... because...

Thanks Vixen!  I felt weird about taking the lead on this since I am a late recruit.  This will be challenge 3 for me as well.  This one is more of a data gathering and research challenge than anything else.  Hopefully preparing me for a great new year.  I am waiting until Saturday for some measurements and then I will have my challenge thread up.  Hope everyone kills it and hope your Friday is either nice or submissive--smack talk will not be tolerated.

No worries! I even felt a little weird about starting the thread, but the Brigade needs to continue on so i hope our leaders dont mind me stepping in in the meantime!

 

My challenge this time around is very similar actually - I am going back to basics a bit and working on building a strong foundation for future improvement, including tracking food and lots of mobility work. In fact a number of people i follow are saying the same things so i guess it must be that time of year :)

 

My challenge thread can be found here. But a short summary is ..

 

Main Quest : Get Strong!

Mission One : Strength - Add (any) weight to all three of my main lifts (Squat, Bench, DL)

Mission Two: Track - Track my food everyday

Mission Three: Mobility - do mobility work at least 5 times/ week.

Life Goal : Debt - Pay off one of my credit cards, and get out of the habit of using it

 

Just as a side note, I finished my last exam for my university degree this week and will be taking my first break from study in 3.5 years. Woohoo I will have an undergraduate degree to start my new dream job early next year :) i guess thats another reason for taking this challenge a bit easy. I need the break!

Thank you, Vixen, for giving us our new home for this challenge! :) I'm pretty sure our fearless leaders both approve. ;)

 

This will be my third challenge, the second with the awesomeness that is The Brigade. :encouragement:

 

I will proceed on my way towards my first ever pullup, mostly by starting to "walk the plank" (as Scooby calls negatives).

 

My challenge thread isn't up yet, since I'm still working on the details. I'll start on the "official" 11th, but it's great too see you guys already up and... well... not running, but lifting. And tracking. And stuff. :D

Cheers for making the thread, Vixen, and I hope both Ash and Hero will be back here soon.

 

This will technically be my third challenge, but I pulled out of the prior one, so really it's more like a second challenge. The challenge thread is up in the assassins guild, and a short summary of the goals are as follows:

 

  • Clean up the diet
  • Stick to a bodyweight regime
  • Daily yoga
  • Keep ahead of, not just on top of, uni work

 

Hopefully things will work out better this time round!

I'm here and ready to work.  This will be my second official challenge, but I had a couple partial challenges before.  I've almost lost all of the weight I needed to lose so my focus will be shifting a bit more to my strength training and supporting it.  I switched out my diet goal for a sleep goal.  I'm also trying to form a habit of spending 8 hours per week above and beyond my 40 hours to work on my career.  This will typically allow for either overtime when available or training.  For this challenge, I will be focusing on the training that I have neglected for a long time by learning Android Programming.

Hey my Brigade,

 

I'm officially back in the game. I'll have my thread up no later than tomorrow and I will explain my absence there.

 

Vixen, thank you for getting the Brigade moved, much appreciated.

 

I have some things I need to explain to you all if I do not hear from Hero soon. I am his accountability partner and the last time I had contact with him was Oct. 28th when he told me he was in a barracks without internet service. He told me he would come talk to you guys and I want to give him that opportunity before jumping in and doing it myself. So, if no word from him by the end of the week then I will.

 

In the meantime I am so proud of you all and excited to start following you into a new challenge as you hit new successes.

Hello everyone! I'm back for my third challenge with the brigade. Thanks Vixen for setting up this thread. It would've been weird to do a challenge without the bridge :P

 

I finally joined the warriors, so my goals this challenge are to get stronger, follow my macros, and improve my form (challenge thread in the signature).

Feelin' good.  I put in a "perfect" swim today, as in exactly as laid out in the 0 to 1650 challenge.  No more than one breath on turns and no more than the allowed number of breaths on breaks.  It was tough at times, but I fell into a rhythm where at times I was surprised I was at a break.  I will post full details in my challenge log update, but I was very happy with my focus and drive today.

Kind of surprised by how well I did for the first day, all things considered! Report's up at long last, and here's hoping to repeat the performance for the rest of the week.

Greetings fellow nerds! I just wanted to drop by and say that I'll try to have my thread up ASAP. This will be my third challenge as well. It will probably be very similar to my second.

 

Anyway, I'll try to pop by here and there when I can but I'm going to cut way back on trying to hit up all the threads. Sorry if I end up asking redundant questions or things like that. I may just come by and drop waffles from time to time.

 

Vixen - thanks for starting the thread! I think by the end of the last challenge you were the only surviving (or at least active) Noun-Verber! #cheers

 

Forkboy - that picture, it got me. Right in the chuckles. Which sounds dirtier than it is.
