I did a great job on my last challenge, the best one I ever have done here on NF. I'm going to assume that I did so well because of the Whole30 I did. I felt the best I have ever felt and dominated the challenge. This time around, I want to keep feeling great but try the 80/20 approach and see how I do. Since this is typically the time of year when things get really hectic for me, I want to continue to focus on working out so that does not fall to the wayside like it has in the past.

My main goal is still the same (lose over 100lbs) and I successfully lost 10 pounds after last challenge. For a small more focused quest I'm going to focus on getting down to 250lbs and fit into a pair of 20/22 pants by the beginning of 2014. To do this I need to focus on eating right and exercising.

8TH CHALLENGE GOALS - TRACKER

Goal 1 - Whole7 followed by 80/20 Paleo - + 5 CON
Which means 3.8 meals a week do not have to be paleo or 15.2 in a month.

This is pass or fail

Goal 2 - 3 days of workouts (OTHER than my recruit workout) - + 3 STA + 2 DEX

16-18 days completed = A
12-15 days completed = B
7-11 days completed = C
0-6 days completed = F

Goal 3 - Complete Level 2 Recruit workout guide starting 2nd week - + 3 STR + 2 DEX

6-8 days completed = C
0-5 days completed = F

One of my quests is to get all my stuff ready and done for hobo xmas.

 

Yeah I only have about $80 for xmas and I'm using that for the men in my life. That leaves all the others and they get handmade items.

I knit and I'm pretty horrible at it and it takes me forever to complete things. I need to figure out how to crochet though because I'm going to need it for the edges of my Star Trek pot holder I'm making.

Yeah I hear crochet is really quick, probably would be good for your coasters as well!

 

These look great, I really wish I had more patience for knitting, but then none of my gifts would really be appreciated anyway :/

 

I guess I should really start thinking if there is anything I can make for them that they would like.

 

I think finding something you can actually make that your family will like is really hard. :(

Those coasters were the easy ones. I started my double knit pot holders last night and got about 15 rows done only to find that I didn't purl where I was supposed to so I had to start all over! I really should just do all the coasters first and get them out quickly but I'm stuck on one that has one line that reads like a novel. 

 

I love those coasters!! I crochet, but would love to learn to knit. Just need to find some time to do it lol

 

I'd like to learn to crochet. I've heard it is a lot easier to learn than knitting, and I need easy sometimes. :)

So day 1 sucked. I knew it would be tough on me physically because last time I also had a massive, head about to explode migraine but yesterday just seemed worse. It might not have been as bad but because I was trying this unprepared, I caved in an ate none paleo foods for dinner. I was starving all day which also didn't help and I was not even craving the food. I did it out of sheer laziness.

 

Because of last night, I decided to push back my Whole7 so it will end next Tuesday because I caved last night. Also, having breakfast seems to help for me. Oh the things we learn!

I am having major caffeine withdrawals, so I feel you on the headache!! Today will be better! :)

 

I think mine was a mix of caffeine and sugar. Also how do you get that % tracker in your signature??

 

When I went off of whole30 foods it just wasn't pretty.  I know you had touble with lots of headaches.  Did you get the headache after eating that food or did you have the headache before?  I know whole30 helped a lot with my headaches.

 

I've always had headaches. Before they would be like a small headache lurking around my head, nothing too painful but annoying. The first few days of Whole30 it's like my heads about to explode. I'm about 99% sure my headaches come from sugar but it's been increasingly hard to give that up.

I am a big fan of knitting! Love those coasters :) And I'm curious about the Star Trek potholder (or washcloth)??  Did you find a pattern on Ravelry or elsewhere?

 

Great goals!!! You really did kick ass last challenge. I'm excited that you are aiming for a new pant size for next year (new pants! yay!), and I am positive you can do it.

Homemade gifts are nice but boy are they troublesome, Lol. The Star Trek potholders!!!!! I originally found the pattern on pinterest. :)

I can but I don't enjoy it. I'd rather just not drink it if I don't like it. :)

That's how I feel. It's not worth the hassel if I can't even enjoy certain combinations.  Could I make unsweetened grape jelly? and almond cracker things? and use almond butter? yeah, but it's nothing like an ACTUAL pb+j sandwich.

Exactly! I mean I know there is some great food turned paleo but some, not so much. 

 

And on a crappier note, my desktop has died! I've been trying to figure out for a while now why my computer would not start up and why none of the repairs I was doing would work. Turns out my Hard Drive is "bad" and needs to be replaced which also means all my data needs to be transferred or recovered. I'm not good with computers, like at all!  I don't think I can wait until black friday or all the cyber deals to come. This is going to cost an arm and a leg. :(
