Arilian Princess get's unlost

Arillian, pardon me if this sounds rude... BUT... What the heck is your Job??? Have i missed something because it sounds.... very.... COLD O.o!

And yes in those temperatures i can understand why your water bottle would be freezing and you'd need a hot meal! :)

It's probably been a while since I mentioned it, like four challenges ago so not rude at all. I am an oil and gas operator. My job is to process the raw gas from the ground and make it so people can burn it in their houses. And I live in the northern part of British Columbia, Canada so my winters usually involve at least four feet of snow and a week or two of -30 but that's not usually until January. :panda:   Not this year, I had a feeling something was up with the amount of Ash berries about but we had such a mild fall, I wasn't expecting this!

The question isn't who's going to let me, it's who's going to stop me!

Brrrrrr and here I am moaning about it hitting -1! You're a braver lady than me!!!

Check out my character here!

Previous challenges: one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen,

This challenge is all about finding a balance in my life, I tend to find that I go way to the left or way to the right and then try to counter balance and it never really works.....

So finding a happy balance, I do consider my last challenge to be a failure since I wasn't in the grove of it and just didn't bother applying myself. But I have completed two challenges before that and I'm working to make this number 3 completed.

I'm currently staying over at a friends watching her daughter and eating the food in their house. Which is kind of questionable since 2/3 of the family hate veggies like the plague. But as of Sunday night, the parents are home and I can go back to my own over stuffed freezer. I am an oil field operator which means on my work days I work a 12 hour shift and then have a 45 minute drive each way, this makes for a long day so I need to be prepared for it a head of time because every time I plan to cook at work; things break. A lot! I also have three fish, two cats and two dogs, my sister and her daughter living with me so my house is full. My sister also things a complete meal is a can of soup. So this isn't going to be an easy challenge but I'm looking forward to it.

Alright, the important stuff as I figure out this tiny keyboard

Goal 1: Drink me water: A minimum of three water bottles a day, aiming for four.

Goal 2: Get me moving: Either I am to complete a 10 minute Tae-bo lesson or take my dogs for a walk on work days. Days off I will do both. Minimum walks with the dogs is 2K; this is going to be vital since the dogs are going through dominance issues and I've been bitten while breaking them up once. Tetanus shot and a bruised hand and I'm good to go!

Goal 3: Listen to at least one chapter of my Japanese lessons every day, I'm traveling there in April. A basic understanding of the language will be vital!

Goal 4: Freezer meals: Heh, I have so much food in my freezer that needs to be cooked and eaten so I'm challenging myself to only eating what I have in my house over the next six weeks. I will have a stash of $100 for almond milk and fresh veggies but once that money's gone. It's gone.

Mini goals: Brush teeth both am and pm, I'm horrible for the am. Complete my power engineering course and write my exam. And post to a personal blog every day, even about the little stuff. I need to get into the habit of writing again.

I have set up a work sheet that has check marks for each of the above and room to write things out as required.

Nice to meet all of you!

Wishing you a very warm welcome to the Druids Arilian Princess! I hope you will like it here.

Going to Japan does sound amazing, and something to really look forward to. That is good when November is as dark as ever (but at least you have snow from what I read). I like your goal of doing something every day that gets done, like walking dogs. That is one thing that builds health I think :-)

Routines are the scaffolding of a stabile life and you have a lot of that in your challenge  :peaceful:

I have chosen to believe in myself.

Hey it sounds like you're coming along alright in your challenge.

Do you think you could make a hot tea in a thermos and count that as some quantity of water? You might drink the heck out of it because you know it's warm, two birds with one stone.

And also, you live with a lotta people right? I wonder if any if then can take a turn with the dogs while you are getting much needed sleep

Thats pretty cool... (lol I just realised what I did there, blame the paracetamol)

Yeah northern Canada I can imagine is seriously cold. .. After all I watch ice road truckers

It got to-10 a few years ago but that's just the lowest is gone in my memory :)

Yeah, the ice road tuckers. I haven't seen many of those episodes but the roads around here can look a lot like that and some of the fields near where I work have winter roads. Only -10? Can I come live with you?

That would work, I should see where I have that thermos stashed. I live with my sister and niece and I can't even get my sister to clean up her dish's after she eats and one of the dogs is hers but since it might as well be mine. I call it that...

Thanks for the welcome, I need to work more on that balance bit and I really hope the routine will help!

Haha, I'm not that brave. I just do what needs to be done. I need a certain amount of sun, if I have that I can handle the snow!

Well, I'm back at work. :) I got called in and my nerves aren't in good shape. We had a black out during my last set, which went well besides it being freezing but now every time there's a power flicker I think one of the generators has gone down. :( I need something...

The two days I had off from work the first was spent with Telus and I was awake for 36 hours. And the second was fairly quiet, I cleaned the house and did some shopping. I also didn't take my dogs out for a walk and I'm realizing I'm not drinking my water at home. I did take my dogs out today and I shoveled my front yard (driveway and walk ways) and one of the decks. Tomorrow I'm hoping to tackle the second deck and the stairs to the basement and the walk ways in the backyard later this week and if I keep on top of it this winter. It won't be bad!!!

I did make my snowman ordaments but still have the hot chocolate ones to make but that's probably my next set off because this week still includes : parent's company books, visit a friend who gave birth to a boy, shovel more snow, some cooking, family breakfast with photo's and pick up a friend from the airport. He just got back from China. :)

The question isn't who's going to let me, it's who's going to stop me!

It's from a new line called Ever After High, this is Raven Queen and she's the daughter of the evil queen. From the same makers as monster high.

A proper update to come eventually, long cold days again. :)

Hello A Princess, checking in in week five.

How are you doing? Is it still bitterly cold?

I hope that you have gotten some rest in the last week!

Thanks for checking in with me!

I'm questioning my sanity but that seems normal these days. :) We have had a couple of cycles in the weather since my last post, I've gone from -30 up to 5 and back down to -20 and in the past 24 hours the temperatur has increased 20 degrees.

I'm at work and have walked away from this a couple of times since work takes priority. But I have made serious damage on my PE course, I have five chapters left and then I can request my final. Once that's done I can study for the provincial! The rest of my challenges? Yeah not so much

The question isn't who's going to let me, it's who's going to stop me!
