Panczo
Hi and welcome at my 7th challenge While waiting for my elbow to heal (so I can start strength training and martial arts) I'm going to focus on establishing some habits. They should asured that I keep on going forward while healing instead of just sitting on my ass and eating bad stuff. 1. Philoshopy: Stay Positive, Stay Content - 10 min day planning and 'positive' thinking after morning meditation – 5 Work days/week2. Nutrition: Healthy breakfast – not-bread– 5 work days/week3. Fitness: Move my body 3x/week4. Life Quest – Learning Math 240min per week – plan: 4x60min after work: M,T,Th,F btw. I'm little tmnt oriented other habits I've implemented in my earlier challenges:Nutrition Doing healthy salad in bulks for entire work-week – Fri/ Sat Doing grocery shopping 1x/week at weekends Eating 1-2 fruits at work Philosophy Morning meditation at workdays– I’m cool with 10mins for now Fitness Morning 1mile walk at workdays– right after waking up – I did that all winter and I am back since November. It wakes me up better than jug of coffee and it works magic for my health – like a vaccine Activity – 2h dance classess with my fiancé – Wed 8-10pm Life stuff writing my fantasy book – Wed – 1h after work – I treat it more as a time of uncensored creativity than a try of becoming a writer. I did it a while ago, then my life got too busy and few weeks back I re-started that habit. Panczo
Hey there and welcome at my 7th challenge here with NF. It's gonna be 1 year with NF after this one. I am pretty amazed that I stucked for so long and of course I'm not planning to go anywhere in near future So little intro: - Main Quest: Heal the elbow and get more perspective and positive attitude toward life as it is AKA “Healing and Chilling†- My Motivation For Main Quest: Health! I need healthy hands for many reasons - My Guidance Fitness-wise: to be a mix of TMNT and Dwarfs. Currently on my personal ‘training’ with TMNT to become a 5th turtle. Before I can start learning martial arts and crazy acrobatic and gymnastic skills, I NEED to heal my elbow! Habit/Ritual – my definition: activity[WHAT], witch you intentionally [WHY] and repeatedly do at specific time [WHEN] and place[WHERE]. = in short: 4W-what, why, when and where. Before my new goals, I just wanna wrap up all the rituals I’m doing at the moment and I assume they are settled and I can skip them in the challenge, and only track them in the background. Doing healthy salad in bulks for entire work-week – Fri/ Sat Doing grocery shopping 1x/week at weekends Eating 1-2 fruits at work Morning meditation at workdays– I’m cool with 10mins for now Morning 1mile walk at workdays– right after waking up – I did that all winter and I am back since November. It wakes me up better than jug of coffee and it works magic for my health – like a vaccine Activity – 2h dance classess with my fiancé – Wed 8-10pm writing my fantasy book – Wed – 1h after work – I treat it more as a time of uncensored creativity than a try of becoming a writer. I did it a while ago, then my life got too busy and few weeks back I re-started that habit. This time I will add another 4 rituals: one completely new but easy, two old but modified and one old but not stabilized yet.I hope this will create a mix of rituals, not very demanding but with some positive effects. And finally – this challenge goals/habits: 1. Philoshopy: Stay Positive, Stay Content - 10 min after morning meditation – 5 Work daysAdditionally to my morning meditation (10-15mins) I want to add some kind of visualization for upcoming day and positive thinking together with everyday recalling about which deep values I want to follow with my action during the day. Until I change my work, I would like to treat it as opportunity to learn, how to be the best version of me despite unpleasant circumstances. Doing this exercise regularly I will try to rebuild my lost sense of direction and happiness. Will it works? No idea but I will give it a shot. 2. Nutrition: Healthy breakfast – not-bread– 5 work days My healthy salad and fruits are for work. It’s time to hit another meal – breakfast it is, cause I eat it alone anyway so I have full control over it. I never was nutrition nazi, neither am I paleo maniac, just trying to eat as less junk food and simple carbs as possible.Plan is to eat breakfast that consist of complex carbs, veggies and proteins.Smth like this:- groats/ rise/ pasta + veggies in some sauce + meat (chicken, ground beef)- eggs (omelet, scramble, poached) + frozen veggies- home made muesli: płatki (owsiane/orkiszowe/zbożowe), milk, dried fruits- home made shake – milk, honey, cocoa, banana, peanut butter, spinach, cottage cheese- white yogurt with some fruits (fresh or dried), nuts, seeds, 3. Fitness: Move my body 3x/week Until I can’t use my elbow, my options are rare and that is why I haven’t created a grounded habits of exercising – cause I didn’t find enough exciting replacement for strength training JPlan is smth like this (but it might change during the challenge): - 1st training: Mon – if weather is nice I will do sprints outdoor – ci. 15min. If not squats, core and yoga routine at home.- 2nd training: Wed – dance classes with my fiancé for 2h- 3 training Fri/Sat – Squash/ BW routine at home/ Sprints (if I didn’t sprint at Monday and if the weather is nice) 4. Life Quest – Learning Math 240min per week – 4x60min after work: M,T,Th,F Again the same life quest – boring but essential J Again I’m rising my time by 30minutes. This time I’m adding specific trigger WHEN and WHERE. If I manage to keep this schedule working, my weekends will be free for extra activities. Until now I did most of it at the weekends and that kinda sucks most of the time… And that’s it. I’m not super pumped up on this challenge, but I think it should be nice.To achieve new NF level I need at least 70% total !!! Let’s habitate Yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah !!! Panczo
ok so we have sunday afternoon and it's time for first week wrap up: 1. Philoshopy: Stay Positive, Stay Content - 10 min day planning and 'positive' thinking after morning meditation – 5 Work days/weekdone all 4 days - cause Mon was day off from work2. Nutrition: Healthy breakfast – not-bread– 5 work days/weekanother 100% - mostly groats and rice and once scrambled eggs3. Fitness: Move my body 3x/weekM=bw lower body session, W=dancing class, Sat=Squash done4. Life Quest – Learning Math 240min per week – plan: 4x60min after work: M,T,Th,Fm=120, t=90, th=60, sat=60 = 330 min some thoughts about challenge:- week one is 100% - so far I enjoy all of it. Although this morning ritual is not 100% my thing, but I will twick it a little bit once I know how can I make it better. But morning walk and planning the day ahead is definetely awesome. Meditation and positive thinking - I'm still testing those- my other habits are also going great not-challenge related:- well, my 4-years long visiting a dentist has finally came to an end. I'm lacking 5 teeth in my upper jaw since high school (really bad genetics + too many sweets) and after fixing all other teeth, it was about time to make myself a dental partial prosthesis and so now I'm trying to get used to having smth like this in my mouth: http://drteckchandanisdentalclinic.com/images/dentures/denture05.jpgmy gums hurts a lot and it's really difficult and painfull to eat anything hard. But I hope all the pain and awkwardness will pass pretty soon...- another thing that happened is that I finally took my girl to a board games club here in our small town and it was awesome !!! Another cool activity (along with dancing) that we both enjoy and could do together that doesn't require PC and TV too bad that they only meet once every 2 weeks but still ok, enough talking for today slut Elf Druid - Level 8 looking around for happiness || tracking || #intro || #old "Most people think they’ll feel good once they reach some goal. Howcome you don't feel as motivated this time ?It looks like you still have a lot of energy though, your posts are quite sparkling :-) well I'm slowly getting used to my new teeth but it will take a WHILE before I can say I'm comfortable with it I guess my medium level of motivation comes from not-doing anything I would label as "awesome" - like strength training ALL my body, finally going to some martial arts class, swimming - as u can see I'm not big fun of eating- part of the fitness - but doing my best to eat clean .Plus I'm pretty tired (mentally!!!) with all the injuries and constant illness that's been affecting my body through this year and before... and that's why I'm not very pumped up for that challenge - but like I said - I will do my best to stay on that wagon twicking all the details with nutrition, rehab and workouts and hopefully one day I will find perfect routines for all of them Elf Druid - Level 8 looking around for happiness || tracking || #intro || #old "Most people think they’ll feel good once they reach some goal. Panczo
I was away for the weekend so the update comes a bit later than usual...week 2 wrap up: 1. Philoshopy: Stay Positive, Stay Content - 10 min day planning and 'positive' thinking after morning meditation – 5 Work days/weekdone all 5 days - although my morning rituals were pretty chaotic due to sickness and not going to work at regular times2. Nutrition: Healthy breakfast – not-bread– 5 work days/weekdone all 5 days - it was actually easier since I spend much more time at home 3. Fitness: Move my body 3x/weekdone 2/3 M=bw lower body session (very easy due to being sick), W=dancing class. S -weekend went pretty original and I didn't make time for training4. Life Quest – Learning Math 240min per week – plan: 4x60min after work: M,T,Th,F4x60mins done exactly as planned - almost perfect week except one missed workout because of going out for the weekend - I should workout at friday - will know better next time, I guess - it was tough week cause most of it I was sick. But eventually I did pretty amazing - I've found great way to relax from time to time: it's called Dragon Ball - anime I was once watching while being a kid. Now with all the sentiment I'm watching it properly from episode 1 great for few laughs and also as training motivation Elf Druid - Level 8 looking around for happiness || tracking || #intro || #old "Most people think they’ll feel good once they reach some goal. (At least that is what I am thinking. ) well. strong finish will not happen this time but I really appreciatte your words of encouragement folks Hey P! Thanks for stopping by my thread to see where I was Now... where are you? I'm planning on keeping an eye on u as long as I'm here on NF Sam, so it's good to know u don't mind ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- well, about my challenge .... I guess I should say that:training goal - keeping up with my 3 training sessions per week - 1 lower body weight routine, 2 dancing classess and 3 a game in squash with my friendhealthy breakfasts goal: I'm remembering to not eat bread for breakfast and instead I have either scrambled eggs with frozen veggies OR some complex carbs with chicken/ground beef home made saucestay positive goal: my morning positive routine has naturally transformed into 'planning the work day' routine. Somehow I couldn't make myself to write positive attitudes while feeling down at the same time - so just planning - but it helps a lot with good organisation at work my life goal: learning math: here lies my biggest failure this challenge - I finished my math textbook 1.5 week ago and somehow I stopped. Like I don't know what to do next - naturally I should by another book, but somewhere in my head some thoughts started to pop out. Like doubts whether I really want to do this, whether I want to become a tutor at all. And since I DON'T KNOW what to answer to these questions - my actions stopped and stays like this till now:(generally speaking I'm pretty miserable these days... My never ending attempts to find better occupation + going to work which I can't stand slowly drains my positive powers from me... I feel like superman staying close to kryptonite for too long or smth ok, that's what's going on with my challenge more less - I'm just gonna finish it as best as it will go with my first 3 goals and then I will just think what to do next see ya Elf Druid - Level 8 looking around for happiness || tracking || #intro || #old "Most people think they’ll feel good once they reach some goal.
