Challenge Week 2 Day 14

Lean turkey patties (2), Small Prunes (5)

Protein Shake (2 sc), OJ Concentrate (1 T.)

Egg Whites (3), Veg. Mix (1 c.)

Greek Yogurt (8 oz), Pomegranate (100 g.)

Small Prunes (5)

 

 

Total Macros:    1269 CAL / 144.5 PRO / 130 CHO / 28 FAT  (20%)

 

 

 

FLUIDS:  130 oz    :triumphant: :triumphant:

 

 

MOVEMENT:   Took a break from biking

 

 

Woke up today with a tight pulling sensation that was pretty intense from that incision area in the left hip all the way through the hip flexor. Made walking a bit uncomfortable though no real pain. Don't know if I've been over using it a bit or it is just part of the healing process. But I decided to forgo the biking today and give it a break. I have been biking everyday since walking hasn't been an option due to the weather lately. And I want to be able to do my workouts tomorrow.

Tsk! Tsk! ;) Remember to take recovery days. Your body as a whole may not seem to need them at your current activity level, but the surgery site apparently still does.

 

Lol, I didn't break the 'agreement'. :playful:

 

And yeah, didn't think about taking a day off from the biking because overall it doesn't feel like enough.

 

BUT, I did listen and took the break today! ^_^

Ok, as I said above I am improving as I am able (slowly) to get on and off the bench for bench press now! That was good. But, I had to forgo biking again today as I tripped on a little that came out of no where and landed kinda hard on that leg and caused the surgery area to complain at me for awhile. It's all ok, just grumpy. (the hip area- not me :D )

I remember the first several months after knee surgery....stubbing my toe felt like someone shot me in the knee....

I'll second everyone else though: Make sure you're still taking it easy.  Only do what that incision site can handle.  Only as strong as your weakest link and all that...

Yikes! :nightmare: But I getcha, I came down on my knee and the initial jolt to that hip area kinda made me want to bang my head on the floor for a minute, but once I got up I knew I was ok. It was just jabby and achy after that.

Did get some biking in today but was a bit slower because hip flexor is still a bit grumpy and I have had a headache today. Also slacked on water. Lack of focus as I am busy prepping for Thanksgiving. Lots of baking tomorrow for our family dinner and it is our habit to take treats to neighbors who can not or do not have have family to visit. Always fun! ^_^ Right now I have 2 pumpkin pies, 4 large batches of brownies and a few batches of cookies to get in.

 

And NO, no eating any of it tomorrow. Helps that some is leaving the house to go to the neighbors! lol :D
