Leg Day

Leg Press (Bowflex):  4 sets of 12, 12, 10, 8 (200 lbs) ; then 2 sets of 20 (150 lbs)- 50 raise (both sets)

Seated Calf Raises (Bowflex):  3 sets of 20  (150 lbs)- 50 lb raise

Lunges (Bowflex):  3 sets of 20 (30 lbs)- 10 lb raise


DB RDL: 4 sets of 10  (40 lbs)- 10 lb raise

 

 

Well, either I am a lot stronger in my legs than I give myself credit for or the Bowflex is not a good machine for Leg Press  because those still don't seem challenging enough. Everything can be raised again next week, some a lot more (leg press, calf raise), some only a bit more (lunges, RDL).

 

I can also tell I am still fighting off that virus to some degree as when I begin to breathe heavy during the workout I go into a coughing fit. grrrrrrrrrr, so annoying :angry:

 

All in all- good, solid workout! ^_^

Awesome job on legs, and glad to see you're pushing, but not TOO hard.  As a wise man once said "You gotta know when to hold em.  Know when to fold em.  Know when to walk away, know when to run.."  Though as I type this, it seems less appropriate than it first did in my head... hahahaha Ah well, rock tomorrow, and I'll do the same!!  :)  Keep it up! :triumphant:

Well, legs are a very strong muscle group, they carry our body weight around all day, so larger increases in exercises like leg press and seated calf raises are easier to do because I'm sitting. You could easily do those too! ;)

Bent over DB Rows:  4 sets 12 (20 lbs each arm) (not raised) ; 1 set 15 (15 lbs) (5 lb raise)


Assisted Pull ups: 3 sets 8
 

Seated DB Press:  4 sets 6 (35 lbs total) (5 lb raise)  ; 1 set 16 (25 lbs total) (5 lb raise)


DB Rear Lateral Raise: 3 sets 15 (7.5 lbs each arm) (2.5 lb raise each arm)
 

Knee Raises:  20 (raised by 5)

 

 

Another good workout today! :triumphant::triumphant:

At the moment, I take every opportunity for Redhead time I can get. It's been four weeks since I last had the pleasure, and I don't know how it will work out when my vacation is over and I have to get back to work on Jan 2nd. So I take whatever chance I get. :)

It was extra nice that the last couple of days were sunny, with temps a bit above freezing, so we could have our lessons outside. :triumphant:

Yesterday's lesson went well, considering that I haven't had lessons since... um... sometime in October, I think?

We were mostly working on "speed control" in walk and trot (extending and shortening the gaits).

 

I hope your little insomniac let you get some sleep... Chest & Arms Day is probably not much fun when you're in tired zombie mode...

Honestly my little isn't the only one in the insomniac phase. Mine has been giving me fits again as well. Just can't seem to sync hers and mine, lol! :tongue: Sleep seems to be an elusive thing of late. Think I am going to try some melatonin (for me) and see if it helps, some people swear by it.

 

For the little it's the going to sleep. For me it's the constant waking up.

 

But, I do look forward to the workouts. They are actually an energy booster even sleep deprived! :triumphant:

I will have to see if it's still on here and check it out. Not familiar with Eureka.

 

 

Eureka is cancelled by now, but I believe there's 5 seasons or so. I really liked the premise of the show - all these geniuses holed up in a small town, and the new "Average Joe" Sheriff trying to keep a semblance of law and order.

Plus, they have Wil Wheaton playing a really obnoxious scientist... :D

Yeah, I have dealt with the insomnia for quite a while now, but sometimes it is better than others.

Lol, between it and having 6 kiddos, too little sleep is pretty much a norm. :playful: It's only when it goes on for a long period that it starts to be an issue.

 

Sounds like something that would work with any of my kiddos but Sadie!  At 2 she really doesn't care, and she has some extraordinary stamina in keeping herself awake! lol :wacko:

Awesome job, Ash! Those are some impressive gains, for sure! :) And I know hard won, by the lack of sleep, etc.. always makes it harder to push, but you always seem to just go, and it's one of the main things about you that impresses me, constantly. You never give up! Even with adversity, and hardships, you ALWAYS do your workout. Super proud of you, Ash, keep it up! :)
