Mini-challenge! Battle of the Cookies!

This holiday season, I want to keep up with working out (which is why I'm posting here)! I'm on week 2 of level 1 of the Rebel Fitness Challenge, going strong (for day 1 of week 2 that is).

My goal is to work out as per scheduled no matter what. In addition, I want to keep watching what I'm eating and make healthy choices for myself and as a good role model for my daughter.

This means that though we do major holiday baking (presents for neighbors, teachers, and family), I can't gorge on those cookies, cakes...etc.

Also, no alcohol. Alcohol always derails me and makes me feel blegh and not want to work out.

And though X-mas eve and Xmas both fall on a week day, I have to find (or make) the time to work out! So probably during naptime? My workout bike is super quiet, so the pure-cardio days aren't hard. I think I should be able to do workout 1A without making enough noise to wake my child, so challenge on!

Other than that, If I can keep with it every day and make decent choices in regards to food....I think I can do this challenge.

I'll keep you guys posted! ~Ruka

@AshPS - Thanks! The last batch is today (Lemon zingers). We did a TON of baking over the past two days (my little girl and I). To name a few-

  • Andes Mint Cookies
  • Peanut Butter Cookies
  • Walnut Frosties
  • Lemon Zingers
  • and of course...Chocolate Chip

We wanted to do more, but got a late start, so started delivering them late yesterday. Last two drop offs are today! Then cookies for santa! :)

Anyway, we're eating...okay. Not as well as I'd like, but well enough (compared to old habits). Haven't eaten too many of the cookies (generally I eat one to make sure they don't taste like salty rocks).

Aaaannndddd....

I DID get my 30 minutes of cardio in on my bike! yippee!! :)

Also, took my daughter to a bouncy house. So got cardio for a while there. Day two of level 1 week two. Keeping strong and meeting my mini-challenge on day two! :) Hope to keep it up!

See ya'll soon! ~Ruka

Well this sucks to say, but we all came down with a horrible family sickness right after my last post. So while we stayed strong throughout Christmas, the past week has been filled with lots of sleep, liquids, and generally crappy-feeling all over for the whole family. As you can imagine, with a toddler, not much working out was gotten. However, everyone seems to be on the mend, so back to soon! I'm pretty disappointed, but really don't want to try to push myself when I know what I (and my family) really need is rest. So pooh...-_-;; Pick myself up and try again soon!

There's no regret like not getting back up on that horse. See ya'll soon!~Ruka

My family just went through this exact thing. And actually trying to shake a bit of it still. Yeah, had to take a break from the workouts and fluids were rule of thumb.

I have a two and four year old and it is always hardest on the littles.

So yep, just getting back into the groove myself so take care and get rested up!

The new challenge doesn't start until next week. I hope that you will be feeling better and looking forward to crushing some goals!
