I'm just going to leave this here....I've never actually seen a "before" picture of cline until today. 

 

Can I just say damn? Holy cow amazing progress!

I was also cc'd on something sent to coach (I asked for permission to share). Here's what really blows me away. 

 

Seven months has been everything to me.  
I learned that keeping a promise yields its own rewards.   
I learned I love every minute of every lifting day.  Powerlifts, assistance lifts… every moment. 
I know, without a doubt, everything is easier if you are stronger.  Life, sports, everything.  
I learned how hard I could get hit and keep moving forward…about how much I could take and keep moving forward.  Really.  I actually learned how hard I could get hit – having a pro MMA fighter hit you or kick you is not easy.  Everything is easier if you are stronger. 

And I learned to kick down doors and punch demons in the throat.  That’s how winning is done.

Lovely!!!!  And inspiring.  I need to get the suitcases out of the bedroom and organize my workout clothes!

  

The Flashdancing guy sounds hilarious! And your organized stuff looks awesome! Keeps inspiring me to fight the chaos back!

I grew up in a home where nothing was left out. Ever. No toys, no books, no clothes, no dishes in a sink. The home was pristine...always. I am used to it so it drives me absolute bonkers when I slack. Not very serenity -ish.

The maniac thing was such a fluke. How did that even happen? OMG. Too damn funny. I wish the guy knew bc he would have died laughing. I considered telling him but I didn't want to interrupt him.

Training was all squats today quasi heavy 75% for volume 56 total reps in sets of 7. Never squatted that weight for that many reps. Was good progress.

New gym friend lifting next to me. He's coming back from a double lumbar injury from.... Crossfit. Guess which box? He said he got injured, did research and quit cf ASAP and will never go back. In the meantime, he got his wife lifting! I told him about spousal unit's program the other day of 4 tabata including tabata deads at 225. Wtf? He actually said "wtf". Lol new bestie.

My elbow is totally shot. Rehab now. Boo. I have a home protocol so we'll see. Trying to avoid dr.

All the paleo food yesterday and today!!!

And if you want to know more about my story (above) lemme know. Basically, I'll tell you this: it's not hard just effing do it. If you aren't or "can't" you either aren't trying, aren't committed, or don't really want to. Period. Yes, it's that easy. People give up heroin every day. That's harder.

I'm sure there was a T-nation article about that sort of thing a while back.  The gist of it was "that word 'Tabata' that you keep using.  I do not think it means what you think it means".  Although I had to do 2 minutes @ BW deadlift followed by 50% and then 25% ... I'm not doubting it's good exercise.

Just don't think it's tabata in the strict maximal VO2 sense people keep going on about.

My elbow is shot and I'm in a piss poor mood bc coach says no punching until next week. That means no Muay Thai for the rest of the week which has me feeling really miffed and really sad.

I said "should I run?" Coach: hell no. Bike. *sigh* I'll do it bc I'm getting him to compromise on lifting for the next week.

All the rehab on the elbow.

Elbows are stupid.

Thanks.  It really does.  It's unbelievably painful and I have trouble just getting dressed. 

 

At least I went from can't pick up anything in that hand to can't pick up ipad or cup of coffee in that hand.  That's improvement.

They ARE bendy twingey buggers.  Damn elbows.  Nobody needs them.  They are like luxury joints or something. 

 

Thanks guys.  It's elbow tendonitis probably from muay Thai.  There are a couple of possibilities.  It could be from regular hyperextension which comes from lousy pad holders and aggressive shadow boxing.  I had a totally shit pad holder on Monday and by Tuesday, stuff was BAD!  So I think that's it.   Could come from hitting too hard, but it's probably hyperextension.  I think it's posterior elbow impingement syndrome.  Combine this with an aggressive program including a lot of curls - and well.... I think that's the problem.

 

In sum, I have excrutiating pain and loss of strength in the hand.  Mostly it's with extension or doing something like reaching out to grag and pick up a glass.  I've created an at home rehab plan and will see.  I should improve in 48-72 hours.  Then I'll have to keep rehabbing.

 

So first thing I did was talk to coach after I started my rehabbing.  I tried to make him compromise on my activities.  I got some compromise but also got yelled at via text - which included the words "this is me yelling at you" in all caps.  :grumpy:

 

No muay thai until next week.  Well, only no punching or pad holding.  So I can't go to class.  I asked what I should do instead - go running?  got a "oh hell no don't be stupid" and was told to ride the bike.  He told me kicking is fine.  So tonight I've put together a footwork drill with kicks and then I'll ride the bike.  I told coach I'm exceptionally grumpy.  He said he doesn't care b/c he doesn't live with me.  *sigh* 

 

He also tried to tell me no lifting but we've negotiated that so I'll lift on Friday and Sunday and reassess.

I told him I'm medicating with beer and that I might try fasting some additional days right now.  He suggested drink beer and then fast.... LOL.

FDL!!!!!  I'm glad I'm not the only woman who has this problem.  Seriously.  Who can eat all those sweets, breads, and chips??  It's hard to live with a carb addict who outweighs me.
