I've only been a vegetarian for about 5 months now, so I'm relatively new to the lifestyle. I do cardio heavy training and am currently training for a 1/2 marathon. My favorite animals are pigs (I miss bacon, but feel so good not to be munching on pigs anymore.) And pumpkins are my favorite vegetable. Link to comment

I was veget during 7 years in the past, but I had to stop it due to lack of iron and, well, sometimes life just happens. I am from Canada. I love endurance sports, hicking, bicking, running etc. My curent challenge is about swimming (first step to a triathlon). My favorite animal, it is hard to pick one. crow probably crow:) as for my favorite veretable, I would say yellow and red pepper. I'm with the Rangers.I've been vegetarian for eight or nine years now and part of my challenge is to go vegan for the duration and see how it goes/if I can be disciplined enough to be healthy and eat enough while training. I'm following the Rebel Running Guide as well, training for a 15k.My favourite animal is probably the elephant and my favourite veggies are asparagus and broccoli. that girl writes race: awesome/class: ranger I post a lot on instagram "You must do the thing you think you cannot do." I've been a vegetarian for 15 years, and I've been trying to eat and cook more vegan food lately. I love pretty much all animals, but I think my favorite is the capybara. pearlescence Posted January 8, 2014 Report Share Posted January 8, 2014 Hello! My name is Pearl, and I've been a lacto-ovum vegetarian for about two months now. I am loving it. I am eating better than I ever have, and feel wonderful. My challenge is linked in my signature, and I'm mostly focused on training with weights, cardio a couple times a week, and yoga. I'm from MA, so if you're in southern Mass and wanna meet, hit me up. I'm looking for a workout buddy/television enthusiast. My challenge is Mulan themed, so check it out. I'm proud of it, and eager to see if I can stick with my goals. My favorite animals are cats, any size, large or small, and my favorite vegetable at the moment is the noble cucumber. There was a sale at my grocery store this week, so I picked some up, and fell in love. I've been eating cucumber slices like potato chips, drinking cucumber water (SO REFRESHING), and I always have a healthy stock of pickles at my disposal. This might sound bad, but I find it way easier to support and follow the groups diet goals because I have trouble relating to other Nerd Fitters who eat 3/4 pounds of chicken for a healthy meal. Like I understand that is a viable way to eat healthy but I struggle to get enthusiastic about it. My challenge this week has gone very well, but I'm starting to question my diet goal a bit. Maybe thinking of a way to re-frame it. Link to comment

Hope my meatless buddies are rocking and rolling too! New work schedule is definitely helping!! I've also added an egg a day to help replace some of the huge amounts of tofu I've been eating. And trying 1 week without grains just to see how I move and feel. I'll keep ya posted! Anyone else attempting no or few grains? How's it going?
