RPG Fanatics Guild (New Year)

I have other goals that I'm going to try to do this challenge also but going to spend most of my time with the workout portion. Once I create/recreate my battle log, that's going to be where I do most of my journaling. I'm going to keep my challenge thread for updates and pleas for help with the motivation. My battle log link will end up in my signature also. :-)

Welcome moomin!  What kind of bodyweight exercises do you do? Currently I do tire-ups, reverse crunches, and dips- along with my sledgehammer workout and homemade concrete kettelbells.

 

 

I'm going to be doing a reading goal.  Anyone have any suggestions for reading?

 

Wow terosx, the sledgehammer workout and the homemade DIY kettlebells sound really impressive. Reverse crunches sound like a good idea too. I had to rely on Google to find out what they are. This is exactly what I mean by learning from you guys.  :nevreness:

 

I am just a beginner. I followed the basic beginner bodyweight work out circuit structure -- just worked my way down to full push ups (can only do 8 with questionable form at the moment), will be starting on bulgarian split squats and still working on my inverted rows. I also do the lunges and the planks as suggested by the nerd fitness website.

 

And I love fantasy books too! I tend to get myself addicted while in the middle of a story though, which really affects my everyday life  :rolleyes-new: . So I can't read when I know I am going to be busy.

Oooooh I liked the symphony of ages series, haven't read the other ones yet.

My favorite fantasy writer is Robin Hobb (you can start with the assassin trilogy). But tastes are really personal, so...

Wow, I'm going to have an interesting time trying to follow everyone! So if I look like I disappear, then that's because I'm lurking in the shadows (heh, like an Assassin) but when you guys need help, I'll come running!

 I second this, except not like an assassin, more like a Hobbit who is hidden in plain sight. :)

 

As for books, I second Goodreads as a great place to find books. Reading reviews and looking at book lists help figure out if a book is worth reading or not. I also enjoy it because I tend to read a lot and forget which books I have or have read. On good reads I can keep a list. :)

I finished adding in the grading for my missions. I'm testing out a points system for my paleo/meal planning goal. I have no idea if it will work but since I'm not doing 100% paleo but trying to just eat more towards paleo and less crap food, this seemed like the easy way to grade. 

 

Anyone else have alternate ways of grading a food quest?

Boo for those of you who are starting the challenge sick. I hope you get better soon! :(

 

I finished adding in the grading for my missions. I'm testing out a points system for my paleo/meal planning goal. I have no idea if it will work but since I'm not doing 100% paleo but trying to just eat more towards paleo and less crap food, this seemed like the easy way to grade. 

 

Anyone else have alternate ways of grading a food quest?

For some reason, that seems like a lot of math overall.  I'd just give an A, B, or C.  Average them every week for your grade average.

 

 

I'm sorta the same way. I have a cold/bronchitis. :-(

 

Seems like I get to start off the challenge with catching a cold!  doh!  I just hope it doesn't get bad.  Otherwise, let kill this challenge!

Hope you two get better soon!  We got some ass to kick!  When I had bronchitus/phnumonia, all my energy was sapped.  Don't beat yourself up if you can't get all your workouts in while you're sick.  It can't be helped.

 

 

 

 

As for me- I read yesterday for 2 hours.  Still going strong with my whole 30.  Got some good news at work- a person I hate it getting transferred.  G/f and I wanted to immediatly celebrate---with food.  So we went to whole foods to grab a cooked chicken, but they were all out.  The teriyaki ones and lime ones aren't whole 30 :( 

 

So we went home and had some crockpot roast and carrots.  Today was a very very long day.  Work- dealt with a friend- dr. appointment.

Echo this. Hope you guys get well soon. Please dont feel the pressure to work out while sick! Rest and sleep has been scientifically proven to hasten recovery from colds. So take care and rest :)

I almost didn't go on my run tonight, but I pushed on anyway :)  The only thing I didn't get done today was 10 burpees.  Not bad.  i was feeling better during bowling tonight.  (Shot 611 for a 3 games series.)  Team did great, but I started feeling worse the last game.  Came home and didn't want to get out there.  Then I just realized I'd be giving in on more then one goal today.  So I did 10 burpees to give me 20 on the day.  Then Completed Week 3 day 1 of C25K.  Then walked for another mile or so to get in my 10k steps for the day.

 

I had also made some Chicken and vegetable soup.  Seems like I have lots extra, so I'll be eating this more then I expected this week :)

Good job sticking with your Whole30 and not celebrating with food that is not allowed!

How can I add a video direct to post?? Like terosx did?

 

On the Reply field there's a small box icon, third from the top left next to where you can select Font. Select that, then select "Media" from the drop down menu and paste the URL in the appropriate place.
