RPG Fanatics Guild (New Year)

Recommended Posts

Ok, seems like I am over the cold for the most part.

Did 5 burpees this morning, and had decent form to them.  I was still waiting for my son to wake up, so I started going up and down the stairs.  At the top I would do a burpee, then repeat.  Only got 5 done when I heard my son, but I was pretty much done anyway. ;)

So bowling tonight, then I will get back to C25K tonight and see how I do.  Of course I need to fit another 20 burpees in someplace.

Sure thing.  All are welcome!

How was everyone's start of the new week?  I got into an arguement with my g/f after work.  Whole 30 has both our our nerves just frayed right now.

I was pretty grumpy Sunday and really couldn't pin it down.  I ended up going for a run and felt better afterwards.

G'day Fanatics,

The latest adventurers' mini quest is to build a team. TerosX said there was a couple of spots left here. So I am taking up the offer.

This is my first official challenge, as I joined a bit too late for the last challenge. I live in Australia, have 6 kids, I am developing my own artisan business, I am a Heathen, and totally geek out on ancient history. I love how NF encourages us to treat our health goals as an rpg. I have found a lot of awesome people here on the NF forums and I am looking forward to meeting all of you fanatics.

RPG for me was D&D 2nd Edition, Warhammer Quest, Diablo 1, and a couple of others I can't remember the names of. I currently play Wizard 101 with the kids, and I am a recovering Games Workshop addict.

ALRIGHT! +2 to acceptance!!

So far so good, aside from a cookie and a couple steak fingers I ate just meat and veggies all day...and I feel GREAT! I just wish my wife felt as good, she's having some issues right now...I'm sorry to hear about your fight, dietary changes can on occasion lead to mood swings.....I'm sure y'all will work it out :-p

My first week went great! I unfortunately seemed to have caught something of a sore throat and I missed my first workout of the week! I'm going to try to get rid of this before it takes up the whole week!

Oh and WELCOME NEW MEMBERS!! \o/

Is there room for an OLD rpg person?

When I did rpg (D&D) we used real figures, real die, and the dungeon master drew out his dungeon on graph paper.

The first books of dungeons came out then....

It was our weekend activity after a week in the Navy.....

Welcome all the new members! Sounds like most of us had a decent week and those of us who didn't are prepared to rock this week until the end, such amazing attitudes!

My first week is usually the easiest week, except the challenge where I started Whole30. :) This week was a good one. I got in my workouts, only missed 1 day of sleep before 11pm and did pretty well with food.

I made homemade granola last night and this morning I decided to have it as a cereal. I have some Almond milk and for some reason, really wanted cereal. The problem, I couldn't tell that I burnt it last night but today...man this stuff is gross and I need water bad. Too bad I have no access to water until I go on a break at 10am. The granola would not be so bad if it was not slightly burnt and either had more sweet or salty taste to it, it turned out pretty bland. :(

Hope everyone has a great week 2!

Of course.  There's no real requirement here.  It's just able people that like to play RPGs in general.  It can be old school or new school.   Here's my character that I tweaked from Diablo2:

At least you got the appearance right. try again next time :)

Yeah week 2 here we go!

Ok. I've read up on this thread and some of your challenge threads. Still have a lot to catch up to!

Here's the link to my current challenge: http://rebellion.nerdfitness.com/index.php?/topic/41836-trillz0rs-fifth-challenge-the-road-to-badassdom/

I'm Tricia, 31F, finally got my masters degree in philosophy which means I'm back to working full time in customer service (I temporarily switched to a part time gig while I was finishing uni).

No plans for changing jobs, since I can hear you think it, haha! Philosophy is not something you study in order to find work, but in order to develop your mind and perspective.

But now that I'm done (for now) with investing everything in this mental aspect, I feel it's time to invest in the physical. I really want to make myself fit and healthy over the coming weeks/months.

Current obsessions:

Still totally immersed in Buffy/Angel. Man that stuff goes on forever! How did I miss that when it aired? (oh right, I didn't own a TV at the time )

Also: re-reading the Song of Ice and Fire books, after catching up to all the exciting internet theories about what really goes on under the surface and in the background. It really is worth the effort when you're near the end of book 3 and you get to go 'Aha!' at a throwaway line of a certain Rolph Spicer attaining the title of lord, and the former lands of the Castameres, and all the "Oh shit!!!" that implies. (not a spoiler really, because if you are anything like me, the first time reading the books you're having a hard enough time remembering who the main characters are, let alone background characters who are mentioned about twice, but I'm still putting it in white because I know how testy people can get about this stuff :) )

I also have the habit of grading games on a scale of 1 to Skyrim, so there's that :D

Oh wow, another one.

My BS is in Philosophy. What do you want to do when the schooling is all said and done? My eventual goal is to teach, but I need to get my ducks in a row to go to grad school (which is going to take a while).

What area do you study in particular?

I am slowly working my way through the list of everyone's logs, liking stuff and making a comment. You are all some amazing people. definitely glad I joined the guild.

My first week was great, and so far my second week is shaping up to be the same. My broken hand has recovered enough that I can add push ups to my BBWW routine again, I am getting so many ideas for future challenges from reading your logs that I am sure that I will have enough stuff for the next dozen or so challenges without thinking. Hel even the idea of running isn't scary anymore. Typewriter pull ups and push ups are however, but I will get awesome enough to do those.

I do have to agree with Red1263, gaining new friends is the best reward for joining a guild [but I am not giving up that shiny +1cha].

Never played the first one.  I have the second one.  My engineer with a giant canon is 93 I think.  I also have a few low lvls. I'm pretty sure I brought up torchlight a few times in game convos around here.  you just get it?

Ever have one of those days where you are not sick but you just feel yuck and drained? I'm hoping this is not the start of a cold... :(

Yup.  You can pull through this.  I thought tons of people got sick during xmas. I guess there's some residual sickness going around.

I need to get my strength workout in today but I don't have access to my usual inverted row bar... gotta think of something.

At home there's water jugs, sand jugs, bodyweight exercises, sledgehammer workout.

Go to the supermarket and grab those 5 gallon water jugs that people use for office-room water coolers. Grab one of each by the handle and just farmer's walk that.  5gallons= about 45 pounds. you can also do shrugs with them.

You can use a heavy table as a way to do inverted row/pullups.

The WORLD is your gym.

Sorry to hear about the hand.  That must suck.  A tweaked knee took forever to heal from over the summer, and my finger sprain is feeling fine now so I should be back to normal.

I agree, typewriter pushups look insane.  So do triple-clap pushups, which is what I want to build up to as I continue to lose 140 pounds:

Noise canceling gigantic earphones, or a home gym. Not sure what else to do.  If it's planet fitness, you might be able to let them know they are being 'lunks'.  Not sure though.

Did you by any chance pick up the ps3 bundle on black friday?  I did and it had last of us and batman.  Started last of us and I like it.  Batman I didn't start yet.
