A good amount of fruit & veggies in there! Your day sounds very healthy, especially if you're throwing yoga into the mix! Are you feeling better for it all? My posture is doing pretty good. I still haven't quite made the transition to proper posture being natural, but I'm getting closer every day! I'm not sure how much I have left to go, but I'll be surprised if it's not natural by the end of the challenge. I've been staying pretty aware of my posture, even when standing, which is almost harder at this point. Thanks Eirlys! I'm not always getting the fruits and veggies in there, but I've started going to my local farmer's market on Saturdays AND there's a mobile farmer's market truck that comes to my job on Wednesdays that I'm starting to buy from. I'm hoping that adding the extra "farmer's market" run midweek will kick things up a notch! I *AM* feeling better!! My body feels great, I'm starting to notice long-forgotten muscles, it's getting easier to turn down sugary snacky foods, and I'm just feeling happier!! I've been contemplating it for quite a while, but I think it needs to happen now. I've been doing really great with going to yoga classes, but I feel like it's almost pointless because I'm still eating SO many carbs. And though I am focusing on developing habits and not focusing on my body, I can't use building the habit of going to yoga as an excuse to ignore what I'm putting in my mouth. I have been tracking my food intake (completing my food log on my Fitbit dashboard) and that is what has prompted me to make this change. Since the beginning of the challenge, I've averaged 217 grams of carbs a day. I've only had two days of carbs under 150 grams, and most other days were over 200 grams. They say you can't out-run your fork, well.....you can't out-yoga it either. I don't plan on being super strict about it though. I just finished reading the Nom Nom Paleo cookbook, and I'm planning on using their green, yellow, and red lists as my guidelines.(CON +2) Walk 10,000 steps every day.I’ve been a bit lazy other than my yoga classes, so I’m adding the goal/habit of walking 10,000 steps a day. I’ve been averaging about 5,000 steps a day on non-yoga days and I need to be more active than that. I was home from work and in bed all day, and still ended up going to bed at around 9pm...Tuesday, 1/28: Off day PaleoMonday, 1/27:Breakfast: Good, not very hungry, so I just had some homemade green juiceLunch: Still good, made some eggs and sweet potato hashDinner: Mostly good, had a bit of mashed potatoes with dinner plus a small glass of ciderTuesday, 1/28:Breakfast: Good, green juice and egg muffins (turkey sausage and eggs)Lunch: Pretty good, had leftovers from last night, which included about a 1/4 cup of mashed potatoesDinner: Mostly good, I made tom kah gai but had about a 1/2 cup of white rice with it and about two fingers of whiskey StepsMonday, 1/27: Only 1,560, but I knew it was going to be low since I was sick in bed most of the day.Tuesday, 1/28: 7,377, a pretty good day considering I didn't do anything extra to make it all the way to 10,000 steps. The boyfriend took me to a Mexican place, had a few chips with my salsa, a few bites of a flour tortilla wrapped meaty appetizer, and had two corn tortillas with my meaty and salsay fajitas. Oh, and had a drink. I know if definitely wasn't a paleo meal, but had I not been thinking about paleo-ness, I would have had tons of chips and lots of flour tortillas with cheese and beans and lots of rice. Steps8,120. I think that's pretty good for not going to yoga class AND not feeling well. PostureOnly okay today. I was feeling better on Thursday, I think I ate some bad leftovers and got a bit of food poisoning! I am feeling much better today and am SO looking forward to class on Monday. I started my actual membership with my studio today. I was on my new student special still. I'm looking forward to the perks...free mat storage, discounts on the workshops and two free guest passes each month! Just adding to the motivation! 2/1: Off day Paleo1/30: It was an indulgent day. I don't know why I didn't resist like I know I should have...Breakfast: Not good, coffee with sugar and a shitty poptartLunch: Not good, had a couple of slices of pizza...it was really good pizza though..Dinner: Mostly good, had some leftover tom kah gai with a bit of white rice and an old strawberry cream cheese frosting (I think the cupcake is what made me sick)1/31: Wasn't feeling well, so I didn't eat very muchBreakfast: No breakfastLunch: Had a can of Sprite, it was the closest I had to ginger-ale available and was hoping it wold settle my stomach a bitDinner: Okay, had a chicken salad bowl from chipotle. Don't give up :-) I am feeling MUCH better, thanks for the well wishes. Yeah, this yoga studio is *the* best studio I've ever been to!! I think my issue with indulgence days is that I'm addicted to sugar. It's never just one cookie, or just a PB&J sandwich...it's like I can't control how much junk/carbs/sugar I eat after I have just a little bit. I'm not sure of the name/brand of my chair, but it has a mesh back with fully adjustable lumbar support and a memory form seat. It's really lovely! With a non-paleo boyfriend at home, it makes it difficult to make dinners that satisfy him when I'm only cooking the way I want to eat. I really do struggle when I attempt to eliminate food from my diet. It causes me to binge. Even if I'm still eating enough and am not hungry, I'll still cook up a pot of $h!tty velveeta shells and cheese and eat the whole thing. Or eat a few packages of poptarts...it really is a problem. I was just chatting with a friend of mine and he suggested that I check out http://iifym.com/. It helps you figure out your marcos based on your body and your goals. I'm pretty sure I'm going to start using it for my dietary guidelines. I know I need some structure, but I don't think paleo is it for me. The song.... Like I said on your thread, I don't feel nearly ready enough to record myself playing. I think it sounds alright with the down-strumming/stroke, but when I up-strum/stroke, I hate the way it sounds. I really do struggle when I attempt to eliminate food from my diet. It causes me to binge. Even if I'm still eating enough and am not hungry, I'll still cook up a pot of $h!tty velveeta shells and cheese and eat the whole thing. Or eat a few packages of poptarts...it really is a problem. I was just chatting with a friend of mine and he suggested that I check out http://iifym.com/. It helps you figure out your marcos based on your body and your goals. I'm pretty sure I'm going to start using it for my dietary guidelines. I know I need some structure, but I don't think paleo is it for me.The song.... Like I said on your thread, I don't feel nearly ready enough to record myself playing. I think it sounds alright with the down-strumming/stroke, but when I up-strum/stroke, I hate the way it sounds. I know it's just because I'm not comfortable with that motion yet, but still.... *heavy sigh*I understand, I'm not totally paleo either. I do alright, but I don't stress over it. I'll still eat potatoes and brown rice. I do try to stay away from bread and pasta as much as I can tho. An I believe the challenge was to see how much we could learn in the 6 weeks. Not perfect it.
