I'm nowhere near perfect on mine either, but I'm a lot further than id be without a challenge. It's been fun You're totally right. I struggle with perfectionism. Not that I'm always perfect (I'm definitely not!) it's just that I grew up being the "golden child" and still get upset with myself when things don't go exactly how I would like them to go....even if it's totally my own fault. But you're so right...the challenge was to learn as much as we could, not to be perfect. And I too am much further along with the song than I would have been without the challenge. Switching from paleo. It's just not for me. Trying to eliminate so many food options causes me to binge. It's not an issue of self control, it's just not a good plan for me. After chatting with a friend about this, he suggested IIFYM. Basically, you track your marconutrients. The website has a wonderful calculator that is very flexible depending on your body, your activity level, and your goals. At my current state, these are the marcos I'm trying to hit every day/meal while eating 5 meals per day. Since I'm still new at this, I'll be trying to hit my meal marcos, but I'm striving most for hitting my daily marcos. And since I was wearing jeans and a sweater....no yoga. I did do a bit of yoga at home, but nothing close to what I would have gotten at class.2/11: Off day for yoga, but did some strength training. All are 3 set of 12 reps.Shoulder Press @ 20 lbsFront/Side Lateral Raise @ 15 lbs, last set @ 20 lbsRear Delt Raise @ 15 lbs, last set @ 10 lbsChest Press @ 15 lbs, 20 lbs, 25 lbsNarrow Squat - body weightLunges - body weightSingle Leg Squat - body weight (couldn't do full squats, only about half)Standing Calf Raises - body weightNarrow Push Up - body weight (kneeling)2/12: Good class. My normal instructor is at a retreat in Mexico, so we had a sub. She was nice, but I like my normal instructor better. IIFYM2/10: First day trying this out and did...okay.2/11: Did okay. I have to work on making sure that the carbs I choose get me enough fiber too. 2/12: Better today. Need to work on getting enough protein and fiber. I think this is a really great plan for me. It's going to take a little bit to figure out how to balance my food choices to make sure I hit my marcos every day. It's going to take a lot of dedication and discipline to stick with this, and do it right. I'm going to have to track my food intake every day. And I'm okay with that. I think that having the freedom to choose what I want to eat, without restrictions, makes tracking my food easier. I have to make good food choices or I won't hit my marcos, but it's all my choice. And I'm not focusing on the calories. Yes, counting the macro nutrients is technically the same as counting calories, but it doesn't feel like it. It just feels like I'm making sure that I'm eating like I should. I don't really know how to explain it, but I like it!! The.Introverted.Goddess Posted February 19, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 19, 2014 End of Challenge Wrap Up Yoga - BI cut myself a bit of slack from being sick for about a week and a half. But this is the first time in a while that I've started and continued to attend a fitness type class.Earned STR +2.5, DEX +0.75, STA +0.75 Fruits & Veggies - BI did alright for this. I could have had more fruits and veggies, but this definitely helped me start getting them into my diet more regularly.Earned CON +1.5 Paleo - CAs I realized pretty quickly, paleo is not for me...which made it difficult to stick with it. But I tried.Earned CON +0.5 IIFYM - CStill starting out with this and did alright, but didn't put in as much effort as I should have.Earned CON +0.5 Food Log - BI did pretty good with this! It really helped me to notice some bad eating habits I had developed. I used this information to make some good changes.Earned WIS +0.75 Steps - CI still can't find my Fitbit, but I used an app on my phone for the last bit of the challenge. I only did okay here. I definitely could have made more of an effort to do a little extra to get to 10,000 steps every day if my normal activities didn't get me there.Earned STA +1 Posture - AThere were a few days that could have been better, but overall I did really great! I'm still having to think about my posture, but not as much as I was before. Plus, the new office chair has been a HUGE help!Earned CHA +3 PvP Guitar ChallengeI definitely could have and should have practiced more, but I practiced way more than I would have without the challenge. My computer was being wonky last night, so I'll be trying to record my video tonight. Thanks Mdowning for doing this challenge with me!!!
