Unfortunately the only news so far is that the doc can't really tell what's wrong. He wants some purdy MRI pictures first, so I have to make an appt with another doc who will stuff me inside a noisy tube for 15 minutes or so (feels like an eternity), and then take those pics back to Doc Moviestar who can hopefully find useful clues in the pictures of another Swampling knee in slices. *rolleyes*

Waiting is... gah. I'm terrible at it.

Maybe I should have just brought the pics of the other knee from 2 years ago? *sigh*

Another "test upgrade" BW day:

 

- warm up incl. 7 half TGUs

- 2 x 3 assisted one-legged squats in the doorframe (slightly below parallel)

- 1 x 3 assisted pistols in the doorframe (yep, all the way down, but still with a lot of help from my arms... that's the "assisted" part :D)

- 1 x 3 pike push-ups w/ 1 sec pauses on lowest point

- 1 x 3 pikes w/ 2 sec pauses

- 1 x 3 half dive bombers (these should have been pikes with elevated feet, but I didn't have the book with me, so I was guessing)

- 1 x 3 one-legged warriors w/ 1 book held overhead (2.6 lbs / 1.2 kg)

- 1 x 3 one-legged warriors w/ 2 books held overhead (6.4 lbs / 2.9 kg)

- 1 x 3 one-legged warriors w/ 3 books held overhead (10.6 lbs / 4.8 kg)

 

Note to self: use the books in reversed order next time - from heaviest to lightest. Don't add the heaviest last. :rolleyes:

Yep, I like these "trial upgrade" days - it's fun to see what I can do (or not), and while it's definitely challenging, it's not overly taxing (otherwise I wouldn't have gone for the one-legged squats / pistols).

 

Nice surprise: I got an MRI appt for today. So instead of lunch I was being stuffed into the noisy tube. Thankfully my head was not immersed, too, so it wasn't too claustrophobia-inducing. *whew*

Follow-up appt with the knee doc will have to wait until next Tuesday, though. *sigh*

Good morning, everyone! :)

 

This is it. Today is the day that I did MY FIRST ALMOST REAL CHIN-UP!!!!!1111oneoneeleven

 

That is, my arms were straight at the beginning, only the tops of my feet were touching the ground lightly (and added a slight push in the beginning). It was hard, and I managed only one of those, the second one lost momentum about halfway up.

I filled in the rest of the sets and reps with negatives.

 

- warm up incl. 7 half GUs

- 1 1/2 chin-ups + 6 negatives

- 4 x 8 negatives

- 2 side planks each side, 30 secs, upper leg horizontal

- W&W mobility
