Life is back to normal today, so far, so I did the usual BW workout. - warm up incl. 7 half GUs- 3 x 16 squats (below parallel, set 2 low)- 3 x 8 pike push-ups w/ 1 sec pauses - 3 x 8 one-legged warriors with 1.9 kg (4.2 lbs) weight held overhead and 2 sec pauses I was experimenting a bit with my squat stance, see how the knee reacted to wider / narrower feet, and I got a couple of squats (even low ones) that didn't make the kneecap crack, and thus didn't have that much friction there. Which gives me hope that it's another "kneecap slightly out of whack" this time, which I can work on with my PT. Pike push-ups are now officially upgraded! Yay! It's been a while since I upgraded any of these exercises, feels really good! The third set was pretty hard, so that means I'll probably stay with this variation for the next couple of weeks. But, a little progress for now! I also switched the weighted warriors to the heaviest of my three bookish helpers, together with that 2 sec pause in the horizontal position that's quite a challenge for me. Will keep this variation for the time being. I'm probably doing it wrong, but since I have so much weight still left to lose- I'd rather just wait and do the form right once I drop more lbs. Link to comment

Sounds like a sensible plan!Although it's always nice to try out new or different exercises, it's simply not worth it hurting oneself.That's the main reason why I'm still waiting to start doing anything weight-related like KBs or Deadlifts, and why I'm taking it so excruciatingly slow with the chin-ups. Maybe three quarters, then that was it. The rest was negatives as usual. Is that a new TV series? Thank you, Ash! re wine: Well, I was done for the day (with food, wine and tracking) when the FC brought me another small glass. Somehow I couldn't say no. And thankfully I only want to fit the wine into my target kcal range, not into specific macros. Sherlock is not so new, it's a BBC series with Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Holmes and Watson, respectively. It's the third season, currently (if you can call it that, each season consists of only three 90-minute episodes).Set in modern London, and with very... interesting... script ideas. The last three episodes were just crazy (in a good way). I liked it alright, although I have to admit, I'm not that big a fan of the spooky stuff. Will have to see if the following episodes are too scary for me or not. I did have a half lesson with the Redhead, cut short due to a spot of lameness on her part. Not noticeable at a walk, but very much so at a trot. So we'll have the vet around for another visit next week. *sigh* Now I'm off to a concert (Spanish Guitar) with a friend... Weekly report will follow tomorrow. Have a great Sunday (evening)! I love that show, I am not sure the British have a lot of mini series like we do across the pond, but when I think of Sherlock that is how I think of it, a mini series, I wish they had done Scott Pilgrim as a mini series, that movie lost all the nuance, character development, personal growth and believablity of the books (which actually takes place over the course of a year and Scott learns a lot, Ramona learns a lot, hell everyone learns a lot a 6 part series following the books would have been amazing! Have fun at the concert! And while we're on the topic - Serenity would have been worked a lot better as a regular season 2 of Firefly, instead of being compressed into one movie. </wishful thinking> The concert was fun, we went to see these guys. They played everything from classical Spanish Guitar, Latin American dances, over a baroque Sonata up to some jazzy stuff and the Beatles. Very nice! And what's kipping? When you do a kipping pull-up, you build up additional momentum with your hips and legs - opposed to a "dead hang" pull-up, where the pulling happens in your back, shoulders and arms while the rest of your body stays relatively still. I needed the boost from that little extra momentum to get those last couple of inches over the bar. *sigh*But I'm still at the beginning, there's lots of room for improvement! I don't even think of pull-ups, yet. Chin-ups are hard enough for me. Facts first:BW workout today:- warm up incl. 7 half Get Ups- 10 x 6 squats- 10 x 3 incline push-ups- 10 x 3 one-legged warriors (no extra weight, no pauses) Good news next:No cartilage damage in the left knee, it seems to be something like Jumper's Knee (patellar tendonitis). Doc says I can do physical therapy and specific stretching - which is good. Will call the Drill Master tomorrow to get an appointment! I was so happy that it's nothing more serious that I totally forgot to ask about the dos and don'ts of my current exercise routine. Will talk to the Drill Master about that, but will keep the knee friendly variations until I know more. More good news on my life goal:My reference letter seems to be ready and waiting for me to pick it up - and they accepted all my changes "as is" (or so the lady said - will definitely check it again ).Still... wow! On to the bad news:The Redhead seems to have a more or less chronic condition called navicular bursitis. It's pretty common in Quarter Horses, unfortunately, and the symptoms seem to fit. The vet checked her out today, and that's what she thinks it is. Wants to take x-rays to be sure, but it sounds very likely. If that's the case, then that means an early retirement for the Redhead. And not necessarily in a good way. Crap. First of all they need to x-ray the pretty little Redhead feet to be sure it is what they think it is. They still need to make an appointment for that, so I don't know when that's going to happen. Then chin-up practice:- warm up - no Get Ups today, though, thanks to those missing 20 minutes- 3 chin-ups from standing position (so not really real chin-ups, but much more motivating on a day like today- 1 x 5 negatives- 4 x 8 negatives- 2 side planks each side, 30 sec- W&W mobility Made an appt with the Drill Master for my first physical therapy session next Wed. Yay! Followed by a 12-hour workday finishing part of my current big project before my long weekend.Now I'm finally back home, my brain seems to have evaporated during the day, and there's still some paperwork that needs to be done. *sigh* Good thing that I can "sleep in" tomorrow until 6. Hope your Wednesday is being a little less belligerent than mine...
