Bed at 0:37 up at 7:51. Net sleep 7:14. Less than it should be, but probably not bad enough to be as draggy as yesterday.

Very disorganized thanks to canine assistance. I was on my 6th of the first set of floor presses when the canine companion placed himself such that I could not safely lower the weight in my left hand. I repositioned myself such that I could put down the weight (no room to simply move and continue), and intermingled living room cleanup with exercises - cleanup made the dog bored, so he left, returning when I picked up the weights. *sigh*

The first 2 exercises are done standing, so canine interference didn't matter, but the rhythm was all messed up for the floor presses - and that in itself messed up the rhythm for the other 2.

HOT day, which impaired my enthusiasm for exercise. Did manage same living room cleanup. Probably time to turn off the PC, which means no sync for the basis band, and no gaming.

 

Not doing well at job hunting. Too many MOOCs and too many things scheduled in day time, making it easy to do OK things without actually doing anything that makes progress with any of my major issues. Ambivalence not helping - I want a job in October, not now ;- But need to keep looking, because (a) they come when they come and ( B) unemployment obviously wants me to be looking, not taking random courses and organizing my house.

Finished these by by 3:15 PM, which is late, but not as late as yesterday, and I managed more than the minimum.

Looks like I failed to record much of anything.

Dinner was pork, green beans and rice. This triggered more IBS, though not as bad as the day before.

Did not do "5 minute" exercises, though invoking the sickness exemption was probably unfair. Draggy all day, not outright sick except perhaps to the extent IBS got annoying in the evening - and I wouldn't have counted that either without the prior day. (Note that whole thing may not have been IBS - there were extra symptoms on Wedn, leading me to suspect I'd caught the crud, and my weakest system was, as usual, expressing it.)

Feeling like crud - headache all day. Also fairly consistently not firing on all cylinders - stupid mistakes in what would normally have been very easy tasks ;-(

 

A nap from sometime after 5 till sometime after 7 PM helped some, but the head was insane as soon as I got up. Keep trying to interpret the headache. Hunger? Caffeine deprivation? Exhaustion? etc. and try to fix it. No real luck so far. I am, however, rather hungry right now,  after eating very little all day. Several days in a row, a nice meal has set off IBS. So I'm trying banana, oatmeal, etc. Might go as far as a tin of kippers. Or a couple of fish sticks. NOT a serious meal.

 

Presuming I've been ill, not just IBS, for the past few days. But very hard to tell - this could be stress -> IBS and headaches. Why I'd be this stressed, starting when I got encouraging news on the job front, and intensifying when I got even better news, is left as a mystery for those of a psychoanalytic vocation ;-0

 

Brought out and cleaned the netti pot, in case the root cause of everything is in my sinuses.

 

And meanwhile the oatmeal seems to be helping - both helping the headache, and encouraging my nose to run. (Hot food ftw.) But now I'm feeling vaguely queasy.

 

So I've either caught the crud, or (unlikely) having something from the migraine department. Probably the former; it's lasted too long for migraine symptoms, and I haven't had a recognizable migraine in several years, and suspect this may be because their hormonal basis is no longer part of my life.

 

Have not done my exercises for 4 days, in spite of not being overwhelmingly sick, just feeling a bit poorly. Inclined to agree with my instincts, not beat myself up for laziness and lack of stable habits.

Reasonable stamina on morning walk, but an attempt at a late afternoon walk was not a success - fever was acting up - I cut it off very short in consequence. This bug I've caught can go away *right now*.

Felt perfectly recovered - until I sat up. Sinuses/nose still not pleased with me ;-) But the netti pot seems to be helping - less plugged up, far less headache, and more drainage. (I'll take a constantly clearing nose over a sinus headache, if I'm given a choice ;-)) And food is back to tasting normal.

 

Absolutely nothing scheduled today, except for talking to the recruiter who just contacted me out of the blue. Plan to take it kind of easy, and get rid of this bug.

I'm oversleeping somewhat intentionally, having decided that being extremely well rested may be more useful for starting the job than being on an AM schedule, particularly given that once I get past day 1 (HR), I'll be dealing with people who know me, and had no problem with a lateish (10 AM to 10:30 AM) start in the past. Still want to stabiulize at an 8 AM or 7:30 AM wakeup, but being tired in the morning and heading straight for a tea source is precisely what they would expect of me ;-)

 

3 vegs - 2 * roots/squash, mashed together, plus one * mix of OJ and carrot juice

 

carrot juice is made of fail - even disguised with OJ, I really don't like it. Won't buy that again.
