Duck Rabbit milk stout. One of the best beers I've ever had in my life - and it's local. I dunno if it's ever gone as far as TX, but if you find it and you're on a cheat day... it's well-worth-it.

 

But yeah your goals. They look good. There's something solemn in it this time, and it sounds like whatever you do, you're going to be making a deep personal impact on yourself as well as whomever else. I imagine, you being a nurse, kindnesses from you would go further than most people's. So, you know, there's that.

 

So what are you waiting for? Shine on!

ok, ok Updates.

 

MONDAY:

 

Got up early to gym before work. WIN!!! (I work 12 hour shifts, so it's easy for me to skip workouts)

 

GYM:

 

Run (treadmill) - 2 miles

 

1mile@ 6.8

1 mile footwork drills (skips, shifts, sideways, backwards)

 

Then 3 rounds of:

 

20 DB dead lifts (2, 20# DBS) with 10 sec hold at bottom of last

10 suicides (short....~30ft)

20 jumping curtsy squats

1 min rest

 

"Heavy" Lifts

 

 

Shoulder Press

 

3X5@60

 

Back Squat

 

3X5@110

 

Dead Lift

 

1X5@145

 

Back off the numbers a bit since last challenge. These felt heavy, too. :/ Kiiiiinda of discouraged.

 

That's all I had time for before I had to run to get ready for work.

 

Work - ate primal. Yep. Good start.

 

 

 

TUESDAY:

 

Work again, so no time. DID get out out bed to workout again before work! woot! (See? I was doing stuff though I hadn't had time to post! :)  )

 

 

Gym:

 

Run 1.5 miles - Treadmill

 

1 mile @ 6.8

.5 was 2 sets of 45 sec sprints @ 9.0 (with ~1 min in between)

 

Then 4 Rounds Of:

 

25 DB Deadlifts (2, 20# DB)

30 Bosu sit-ups

25 KB swings (12KG)

20 OHS with 22# body bar (part of snatch progression)

 

Finished with 3 sets of 20 bent DB rows (20#DB) each side

 

 

Work again. Still primal diet...thought I was so busy I didn't eat enough. :(

 

Oh....and I totes had a crutch race with a patient. That counts as a 2nd workout, right?? ;)

H'ok. Catching up.

 

WEDNESDAY:

 

Day off! WOOT.

 

Workout 1

 

Gym

 

4 Rounds of:

 

10 Hindu push-ups

30 sec mountain climbers

30 sec lateral jumping squats (for distance, not height)

30 sec standard plank hold

1 min rest

 

Then 4 rounds of:

 

10 inch worms with a push-up at full extension and a squat in between

25 DB deadlifts (20# Dbs)

25 modified dips

20 OHS w/ 22# body bar (snatch progression)

50 short crunches with 10# DB

 

"Heavy" Lifts

 

OHP

 

5X5@60

 

Back Squat

 

5X5@110

 

Deadlift

 

5X5@145

 

Stretched a lot.

 

 

Workout 2

 

I felt like I wanted some more cardio so I texted Iket721 to see if he wanted to meet at the park for a run.

 

Sucker.

 

We went 5 miles. In the rain. (His challenge is one mile/week) Woot.

 

 

Workout 3

 

TaeKwon-Do

 

Did some patterns and kicks. Not at all a very hard class. For the most part, I ended up teaching some lower ranks a lot of techniques on their patterns, so nothing really heavy. (Still got a bit of sweat in though :)

 

 - ate decent. probably need to drink more water though. :/

 

 

 

Thursday:

 

Only work a half shift today! (6 hours)

 

Gym

 

Run 5K - treadmill

 

First mile @ 7.0

Last 2 miles with foot work drills and a couple of sprints at 9.0

Not the best 5k time, but I was happy considering all the footwork drills for which I slow way down.

 

Then I decided to row 1K for time

Now this, was actually a pretty decent time for me. I have short legs.

 

Now that I have these pics, I need to beat the numbers! Yeeeeeeee. :/

 

 

Then 4 Rounds of:

 

20 inch worms with a squats in between

20 alternating toe taps in a standard plank

25 bent DB rows (20# DB, each arm)

10 full snatchs (I think? I need to video my form) w/ 22# body bar

20 OHS w/ 22# body bar

 

I probably shouldve done more strength here, but my shoulders/upperback was still stiff from yesterday.

 

 

Workout 2

 

Went to TKD Dojung for a TKD/Boxing workout

 

First, stretched and warmed my stiff upperback/shoulders up with a 1 min handstand hold. Geeez. Haven't done THAT in a while. Wobblehhhh.

 

10 X 1 min rounds of boxing w/ 1 min break

 

whew. The 1 min rounds were actually really easy after the 3 min rounds my coach was having me do. But I knew I would only get in like 3-4 rounds of that, so I opted for more of 1 min. Still sweatedededed gooooooood. :)

 

Ended with 100 sidekicks (50 each leg) not much for TKD, but Im counting it in my 3X/week ;)

 

Ate primal today. Still not enough water :(
