Main Quest

Ã˜ I would like to lose 10 pounds in the next six weeks and 50 over the next year.

Specific Goals

Ã˜ Eat a healthy breakfast and lunch, consisting on one ingredient foods.

Ã˜ Exercise at least three times a week using my CT-50 workouts.

Ã˜ No wine except on Saturdays.

Life Side Quest

Ã˜ Complete my photo blog for the next six weeks without missing a day. Hope to complete the entire year in 2014.

Motivation

Ã˜ To get in shape and feel better about my body. I farm part-time and need to be able to lift 50 pound bags of feed.

I want to be healthy and happy with myself while getting stronger and more fit.

I have a staring photo and measurements, but am not really comfortable posting them yet. Once I get to work tomorrow I will post a picture of my written out goal. I'm looking forward to the next six weeks!

Whoo hoo! I'm totally proud of you for signing up for NF, and look forward to being your cheering section. I would suggest joining an accountability group with other newbies, getting out there and making yourself comment on at least 1 other person's board (which is really not as scary as it sounds - we're all nerds here), and participating in the mini challenges where possible.

Oh, and I'm in a cross-guild accountability group - which would be a good second group if you want.

I'm proud of you and you can totally do this.

Day 1 Recap: Today I did pretty well. I start my day with  16 ounces of black tea with Truvia and half&half. My meals were are follows: Breakfast -  Chocolate Protein Shake (chocolate protein powder, 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, and a 1/2 teaspoon of natural peanut butter), Lunch - chicken and apple sausage and steam broccoli and cauliflower, Snack - 1 ounce plain almonds, and Dinner - White Chicken Chili (these are just the main ingredients - onions, garlic, green chilies, chicken, and great northern beans). I love the spices in the chili, they include: cumin, oregano, and cayenne pepper. Hubby even made his own stock, because we could not find any without additives on the shelf. I drank 70+ ounces of water and am still chugging! Took all my vitamins and completed Level 1 - Workout 1 of my CT-50 circuit.

Now time for the not so good news...I found some left over peppermint kisses in the back of my desk drawer this afternoon. I would like to tell you that I did not eat them, but I did. Hubby and I did such a good job cleaning the house last night. He even finished the last of the beer so he would not be tempted. I did not think to clean out my desk at work. I was looking for something else and found them. :(

Positives? There are no more to eat tomorrow! And other than that little slip I completed the rest of my daily goals. Grade for the day B-. Here's to tomorrow.

I was thinking about joining your group just this morning! As for farming, we have goats (for pets not meat), a pot belly pig, and chickens. In the past we have raised turkeys (to eat), guinea hens, and my hubby wants to start cattle (small scale for the family). My husband also is a hunter and we have a stock pile of frozen venison. Every spring we have a large veggie garden, strawberry plants, blueberry plants, and grape vines. I have apple and pear trees, but they are young and produce fruit sporadically. I have a herb/flower garden and am a bee keeper. I think that is about it for the farming. We have many dogs and some cats that are house pets!

Wow, that sounds fantastic! I am very jealous. At the moment, we're renting in the city - fortunately we have a yard, so at least we have a small garden, but that's about it.

I've started learning a bit about chicken keeping from a couple friends who have some, and I would really like to learn more about bee keeping. My BIL was supposed to take my husband hunting, but sadly that hasn't happened yet. Hopefully next fall.

My next project though is to get a light system set up indoors, so I can at least have herbs and greens during winter.

Thanks for joining the group! It's always nice to have more friends around here - what a difference it makes! But I'm sure DF has waxed poetic about that to you already, since she managed to lure you here ;)

Day 2 Recap: Today was better than yesterday...YEA! Started my day with 16 ounces of black tea with Truvia and half and half. My meals were as follows: Breakfast - Chocolate Protein Shake (chocolate protein powder, 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, and a 1/2 teaspoon of natural peanut butter), Lunch - chicken and apple sausage and steamed broccoli and cauliflower, Snack - 1 ounce plain almonds, and Dinner - Venison Tacos (lettuce, ground venison, black beans, and home-made taco seasoning). I drank 78+ ounces of water (8 more than yesterday) and am still chugging! Took all my vitamins and completed Zombie Run 5K - The Story Begins (4,166 steps in 52 mins = roughly 80 steps per min).

I did not complete all my house chores for the day, mostly because I did not get home until almost 7:00. The VW needed an oil change, that took an hour and 45 mins to do! I did get my photo blog posted (seven days in a row) and started a Tumblr blog, mostly so I can push my WordPress blog to it. Grade for the day A- because I could have pushed myself harder while walking. Very pleased sore muscles and all!

Day 3 Recap: Today was just okay, there were strong and weak points throughout the day. I did not started my day with 16 ounces of black tea with Truvia and half and half, because I left it on the counter. I broke down and had a 12 ounce Coke Zero Cherry so I would not get a headache form no caffeine. My meals were as follows: Early Morning - Was starving after adding workouts so I ate the leftover venison and black beans, Breakfast - Chocolate Protein Shake (chocolate protein powder, 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, and a 1/2 teaspoon of natural peanut butter), Lunch - chicken and apple sausage and steamed broccoli and cauliflower, Snack - 1 ounce plain almonds, and Dinner - Black Bean Veggie Burgers (2 patties), and Sprouts (balsamic vinegar, a very small amount of Weber Farm honey, topped with some parmesan cheese). I drank 72 ounces of water and took all my vitamins. I completed Level 1 - Workout 2 of my CT-50 circuit, and got so hot I'm now in summer PJs.

I did not complete any house chores for the day, mostly because my husband pissed me off when I got home. We were both at fault he does not feel good and I wanted to talk about doing a 5k and he was all pissy about it. So now I'm blah!

The bad about toady - the soda and the argument with my husband

The good about today - I made myself workout (even with the blahs) and I pushed myself hard

Grade for the day a solid B.

Day 4 Recap: Today was a pretty good day! Started my day with 16 ounces of black tea with Truvia and half and half. My meals were as follows: Early Morning - 2 eggs over light cooked in extra virgin olive oil, Breakfast - Chocolate Protein Shake (chocolate protein powder, 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, and a 1/2 teaspoon of natural peanut butter), Lunch - chicken and apple sausage and steamed broccoli and cauliflower, Snack - 1 ounce plain almonds, and Dinner - Rotisserie Chicken and 1/2 glass of red wine. I drank 82...yes 82 ounces of water and took all my vitamins. I completed Week 1 Workout 1 on my Zombies Run 5K Trainer without dying of respiratory failer!

I did not complete any house chores for the day, b/c my sickly husband finally took himself to the doctor and found out that he has the flu. I spent about an hour after work running around picking up medicine for him. Plus side is I did pop into the grocery store and pick up a healthy dinner instead of the normal drive-thu.

The bad about toady - the wine, one of my goals was to only drink it on Saturdays, but hubby really wanted some so I gave in and had half a glass.

The good about today - Stuck to my meal plans and completed my workout and photo blog.

Grade for the day another solid B, if not a A- if I was feeling generous.

You seem to be a bit too hard on yourself with the grading. You picked up meds for your husband and completed your workout. You enjoyed a half glass of wine, and got back on the program. Don't make it too hard for yourself to feel successful. Perfection is the enemy of good.

Great work on your Quest this far!

Ahem. Wine. Willpower, dear. I'd be generous with myself about the house cleaning - you completed your workout and did great with your meal plan. A whiny husband is never the best thing to deal with.

The wine, however, was all you. Half a glass is better than a full glass - or half bottle, but not as good as sticking to your guns.

This is a new week - and a new chance for 100% goal meeting.

I'd go for A- for the day.

Week 1 Day 5 Recap: I did not start my day with my normal tea, I forgot it again. But instead of having a soda, I brought tea from home to leave at work (yea me). I had 16 ounces of plane jasmine tea. My meals were as follows: Early Morning - 2 eggs over light cooked in extra virgin olive oil and left over rotisserie chickenBreakfast - Chocolate Protein Shake (chocolate protein powder, 1/4 cup coconut milk, 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk, and a 1/2 teaspoon of natural peanut butter), Lunch - (the one I was worried about) garden salad with grilled chicken (lettuce, tomatoesspinach, cheese, bacon, eggs, cucumber, and a few carrots)Snack - 1 ounce plain almonds, and Dinner - Grilled chicken wrapped in lettuce with black beans. I drank 78 ounces of water and took all my vitamins. I completed Level 1 Workout 3 of my CT-50 Trainer.

I did not complete any house chores for the day, I came home after work and laid down with my husband/dogs and fell asleep until 8:30 pm. I had to get up, eat and workout before actually going to bed for the night. Guess my body really needed the sleep.

The bad about toady - really no bad for today, I ate well and made myself workout even though I fell asleep

The good about today - did my photo blog and ate well when I went out for lunch.
