The return of the Laureleye

This is a place holder until I get enough time to put my challenge together.  My office relocation starts tomorrow & today has been crazy...9,500 steps and counting!  I'm going to use this challenge to get my workouts built back up so I should be able to squeak in a few minutes to develop my goals.

Main Quest:  Build back into a good workout routine.  I'm essentially starting a 5 week challenge. By the end of the challenge I want to have myself back into some good habits and out of move mode.

1.  Workouts: I'm going to build up from 1 workout/week required, to 5 workouts/week by the 5th week - adding one workout/week.  No more than 2 walking workouts/week.  I think my first week or so back to the office is till going to be crazy, so this will get me moving without stressing myself to death.

2.  Food tracking:  Weeks 1 & 2 I'm just going to track without a lot of concentration on calorie level.  Weeks 3 - 5 will be +/- 100 calories of my target 6 days/week.

3.  NF Academy:  I joined the academy and started the training but then got overtaken.  I want to finish the reading and be ready to start a new workout plan for the next challenge.

Side Quests:

1.  Dental Cleaning.

2.  Weekly meal plans.  This was a great help during the last challenge, so I'm adding it as a side quest again.

Our office is moved into the new building!  I left Saturday night with the network up, all the network printers set up and tested, and all user workstations configured.  I worked six 10-hour days and walked a total of 102,000 steps for the duration of the move.  I think for this physically very well; I'm only mildly sore and was still going reasonably well at the end of the 6th day.  I took a bag of apples, raw veggies and little packets of nuts along so most of my snacks were good.  I managed some pretty good lunches on the go, so I'd say the week was a total success.

I was off today and I've only walked a few thousand steps.  Tomorrow promises to be another long day - the first day the users are back.  But...I already have a meal plan for the week, so I'm focused on good eating habits for the week.  Trying to catch up on a ton of things, so I may not get my signature fixed or subbed onto anyone's thread until tomorrow.  Thanks for looking in everyone.

I totally hit the wall on Wednesday afternoon.  My boss told me to go home for the rest of the week (after I fixed her printer).  Came home and crashed.  Didn't do much Thursday or Friday, but I'm back in action today.  Did a jump-rope workout this morning; it was hard but it felt good.  So far....

1. Workouts: On target.

2. Food tracking: Tracking at 100%

3. NF Academy: Haven't done anything yet this week.

(My) Week 1 summary:

Workouts:  1 for 1.

Food Tracking:  Done, but not as much pre-tracking as should be done.

NF Academy:  3 lessons + homework complete

Side Quests:

Haven't made Dental appt yet.

Have a meal plan for week two complete.

I feel good about the week.  I caught up a lot of things around the house, and have begun a small project.  I'm cleaning up some vintage frames & framing some of my family photos.  Got about 2 hours of gardening in.

(My) Week 2:

I've started the week out well with a body weight workout.  Boy, were my legs stiff.  Errands this afternoon, and then get ready for the work week to begin.

Order is slowly gaining ground over the chaos, so today I won't even need to work thru lunch.   I'm getting about 15,000 steps a day as I whack away at the mess, so it's not like I'm being lazy.  I've been pretty tired this week, but it's mostly from getting pulled 60 ways at once.  I'm not sure why folks don't seem to understand "email me with issues so that I can prioritize - please don't stop me in the hall with an issue".  Then they're miffed because I don't remember what's next after 25 more interruptions.  I am so thankful that I bought those Merrill's - all that walking and standing with no knee issues.

I'm doing very well on my goals.  I still have to do one more workout this week; the plan is to do it tomorrow.  I've been tracking, and even pre-tracking my food.  I squeezed in 3 NF academy lessons too.   The one thing that I haven't done is caught up on everyone's threads.  Oh, well - you can only do what you can.

Just take things one step at a time.  Like you said, you are doing what you can do and that's all that you can do.  I'm sorry work peoples are like that, I see that plenty too and they wonder why I stare at them like they've grown two heads.  ;)

Keep rocking it!

Wow, sounds like things have been crazy!  My office is relocating next week, but thankfully it seems less involved than your move since we only have about 20 people to move.  Have things calmed down a bit this week?  Keep up the awesome work, hopefully the stress will be less once things settle in!

Glad to hear the chaos is abating! Gotta train those folks--when they stop you in the hall, can you just ask, "Have you sent me that in an email yet? That's the way to get it into the schedule." Or something like that which allows you to correct their behavior and walk on?

Anyway, glad the goals are going well, too!

To be fair, they are extroverts just doing their extrovert thing.  It is just tough being the lone introvert.

Well last week was much more relaxing; only 80,000 steps during the work week.

Yup, that's what I've been doing.  Of course what I really want to say is "What part of send an email didn't you get?"

Had a good Friday/weekend.  So mentally tired Friday, I couldn't drag myself in for my strength workout, so I opted for walk/run intervals.  The nice thing about that is you don't have to think, you just have to put one foot in front of the other and keep doing it.  Caught up the house work, did some gardening, made my meal plan, and had some fun.  I bought a new toy - an oval mat cutter.  I only had to make 2 throw-aways before I got a keeper.  I've got 3 more mats to cut.  Matting my grand-nephew and a picture of my sister (from amongst my dad's things) for my "baby" shelf.  I've got a couple of turn of the century oval frames too which are getting a couple of my husband's family pix.

(My) WEEK TWO:

1.  Workouts: I'm going to build up from 1 workout/week required, to 5 workouts/week by the 5th week - adding one workout/week.  2/2 workouts complete.

2.  Food tracking:  Weeks 1 & 2 I'm just going to track without a lot of concentration on calorie level.  Weeks 3 - 5 will be +/- 100 calories of my target 6 days/week.  Tracking 100%

Side Quests:

1.  Dental Cleaning.  Not scheduled yet.

2.  Weekly meal plans.  Meal plan for the week good to go.

Things are starting to settle in at work - so only 14,000 steps today.  I nailed my calories again today.  Had enough calories left to have a cookie, then realized I didn't really need one.  Take that cookie!  I got 6 lessons done at the NF academy, so I'm marching along.

As you can see from my thread, I'm sort of trailing off towards the end of the week.  I never anticipated the fall-out from the move going on so long, but at least it looks like I can get it cleared up this week.  Despite not posting anything, I did manage to finish the week okay.  I had intended to do a workout Thursday night, but twinged my back moving a scanner.  I was still somewhat sore Friday, so I had to settle for a walk for my workout.  Felt much better Saturday.  I did some gardening and some work around the house.  I got in a strength workout and cut 4 more oval mats.  That finished up the pictures I was working on so my mat supplies are all tidied away.

Here's the score for the week.

1.  Workouts: I'm going to build up from 1 workout/week required, to 5 workouts/week by the 5th week - adding one workout/week.  No more than 2 walking workouts/week.  I think my first week or so back to the office is till going to be crazy, so this will get me moving without stressing myself to death.  This was my week 3 and I got in 3 workouts, even though one of them had to be a walk.

2.  Food tracking:  Weeks 1 & 2 I'm just going to track without a lot of concentration on calorie level.  Weeks 3 - 5 will be +/- 100 calories of my target 6 days/week.  I was in range from -35 to + 70.

3.  NF Academy:  I joined the academy and started the training but then got overtaken.  I want to finish the reading and be ready to start a new workout plan for the next challenge.  Got in 6 lessons early in the week.

Side Quests:

1.  Dental Cleaning.

2.  Weekly meal plans.  This was a great help during the last challenge, so I'm adding it as a side quest again.  Meal plan complete
