Quick update to end week 5: my diet has fallen apart the last few days with formal and my boyfriend's birthday dinner.  But I'm getting back on after tomorrow! Want to feel great again.

 

I finished week 5 of the couch to 5k.  Ran two miles =)  Actually, the way it worked out, I was wearing my boyfriend's running watch that tracks how far you've run.  I had it sent on treadmill and was running around a track.  According to the watch, I was running an 8:30 mile and would have been done in around 17 minutes, but I think that was a little generous and I didn't think I did nearly enough laps around the track, so I ran for an extra 3 minutes so I know that I definitely ran at least two miles and now I'm excited to run more!!

 

 

A few of my nails broke during formal while I was drunk =(  so it's going to be a while before they grow back as pretty as they were.  But at least I haven't bitten them!

Update on week 6:

 

Ran week 6 day 1 of the couch to 5k yesterday. This is about where I fell off the wagon last time around but since I have a 5k at the end of week 9 I'm keeping myself motivated!  I ran on the treadmill instead of the track which was weird and different but at least I got to make sure my pace was where I wanted it to be.  Tomorrow is a one mile run, 1/4 mile walk, and a 1 mile run.  After that, it's all just long runs!  I'm excited.  And scared.

 

Still doing great on not biting my nails. All of my longer ones broke but they still look really nice and manicured.

 

In other news, I'm dying to get back into lifting and may start back again tomorrow with Starting Strength!

Another update.

 

Finished week 6 day 2 of the couch to 5k yesterday.  Went pretty well.  Doing day 3 tomorrow, using music for the first time in weeks because I'm going to try and keep my pace up.

 

No other real updates.  I've kicked the nail biting habit thus far.

 

Tomorrow will be my first day lifting with Starting Strength since summer! So excited!

Final update:

 

well I know the challenge doesn't end officially until tomorrow but all my goals are essentially accomplished.

 

I'm giving myself full credit on the Whole30.  I finished the whole thing with no concessions, felt great, and have been doing what I can since to keep up with the healthy eating.  So A for Whole30!

 

I'm also giving myself full credit on the Couch to 5k.  I got a bit behind with it, needing to get new running shoes, but it was a smart decision to wait and now I really feel like a runner. I have three more weeks and then I have my first 5k! So A for Couch to 5k.

 

And finally, biting my nails.  I think I've done as much as I could possibly have done in the past six weeks to kick this habit.  My nails look beautiful despite the cold weather wreaking havoc on them, and I'm proud to show them off to people.  So A for nail biting.

 

Wow, I knocked this one out of the park!  I'm super proud of myself.  This was definitely a "less is more" challenge and I'm ecstatic to move up to level 5!!
