So the last challenge didn't end strongly. Actually, let's be truthful. I actually ended it okay, but got sick and lazy and never posted my final counts . (For the record my grades were A, B, F, F). If people want I can go and do a final post there so everyone can actually see, though I'm not sure I can give myself the points and level posting so late. I was planning on skipping this particular challenge in order to focus on doing well without the challenges, but with the poor level of the last challenge I thought that it might be best to still keep up here.

 

Anyway. As always.

 

Main Quest

Kick Ass and look Great in a Kilt on my Wedding Day (Sept 20th).

 

Motivation

Gain Self-Confidence, stay away from depressions, feel generally good about myself

 

Sub-Quests

 

Quest 1: Stairway to Heaven: Take the stairs at work everyday. [STA:2|CON:2|STR:1]

To help keep myself moving forward regardless of anything else I plan to use only the stairs at work, even though I'm only on the second level the stairs still cause me some problems with keeping my breath normal. So I plan to work on doing this.

 

A: Use Only Stairs at work Every Day (I'm at work) all Six Weeks

B: Use Stairs at least Once Every Day (I'm at work) all Six Weeks

C: Use Stairs Every Day (I'm at work) for Four Weeks

D: Use Stairs Three Days a week for Four Weeks

F: Use Stairs Less than Three Days a Week for Four Weeks

 

 

Quest 2: At least 2 exercises 3x a Week. (Keeping this up from last time. Since I came close) [STR:3|STA:2]

 

A: Perform Exercises 3x a Week All Six Weeks

Oh, the wedding. Congrats.

 

Good goals. I especially like the "stairs". 

I no longer ever take stairs at office, unless I'm with coworker who wants to take elevator (like with a cup of coffee).

Once I started thinking "I'm an athlete", choosing stairs wherever possible became natural to me.

 

Acing "Eat Well" seems really hard. I cannot do it at all. (Half of GF english muffin this morning, and half&half in coffee this afternoon.)

Hey RougeWelkin, I'm getting married in August and I know the feels, I am getting a fair amount of pressure (from myself mainly) to look great on the day.

 

Your goals look great! Particularly the stairs, if you can constantly resist the urge to take the lift you are going to be winning. You're obviously no stranger to the NF challenges, very inspirational for newbies like me!

 

Good luck on week one, I hope you're killing it!

In a lot of ways this challenge is a lot easier than the previous ones I've done, but that's on purpose. I want to make sure I focus, keep my willpower strong and come out on top. Virtually everyone that will be at the wedding is used to seeing me as an overweight individual, some will have seen me at my worst period around 2008 before I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. So here's hoping I can just make those people go "What happened to him?" in a good way...at least once they notice me instead of the bride.

This is a good strategy -- focus on your commitment to health and excercise rather than trying to do a whole bunch of things.  Good luck!

It's been going well, work's been unusually busy so I've not had a big chance to come on here as much as I would like. Had a few hiccups getting back into the diet. But otherwise everything else is good!

Oh I'm sticking with it, just having to fight to get back into the routine and eat normally again. It's rough, but I'm hopeful it'll give a good payout in the end.

Bah, I can tell I've been sick because I thought I replied in this thread already, and I haven't!

 

Goals look good.  I don't have a job these days.  In general though when I go places I park farther from the entrances.  I take the stairs at some places when I can too.  I figured getting in a little bit extra here and there is good :)

 

I hope getting back to routine is getting easier for you.  Week 2 here we come!

I know I still need to update my first post. I'll probably take care of that today.

 

Work's been crazy lately, with the new year we completely changed our database software and it's cause virtually no end of issues. So I've been drawn into that.

 

Thanks to being distracted today by checking email on my phone I accidentally took the elevator instead of the stairs :GASP:. However I immediately took a trip down the stairs just to come up the stairs, so I'm not going to count the elevator trip against me.

 

One thing I'm noticing is not necessarily a lack of desire of doing exercise (though I do have a bit of "do it at a better time" which is occasionally valid), but I seem to have a habit of suddenly realizing that I forgot to do it, and usually make that recollection when I'm unable to do it immediately, thus risking forgetting to do it again. Thankfully I was able to get the exercise I missed yesterday done already today, pretty much right after I fixed the stair issue. So far I've been settling back into eating normally, and not devouring all the icky grain or dairies. So here's hoping I keep that up. Huttah.

I'm mostly hitting my goals. Exercise is difficult to remember, though I am breaking through on the times where I'm able but "don't feel like it" Diet is proving a bit more difficult, I have a few slip ups and the other day I was out with my friend for his birthday and decided to be bad (it was amazing, but I know it'll hurt me in the long run). Right now it looks like I'm aiming for a C in that goal. But we'll see how I do going forward.

Ah cupcakes....soft moist muffins with frosting. Thankfully I've lost my taste for products that are effectively pure sugar (not even sure I was ever super into them anyway) so the icing doesn't prove too enjoyable for me. Glad you've been able to cut down, my killer seems to be cheese fries...curse my being from New Jersey. But mostly I've been doing good, this week I finally got back on the "making lunch at home" bandwagon....as well as breakfast, which I've been skipping a lot recently. So hurrah there.
