I like the idea of posting daily/semi-daily "awesome things" we did. I think jotting down things we appreciate/make us feel how awesome we are is a great idea.

I'm trying a new thing where I will post on two people's thread per day. It can be people that I have been following from day 1 or new people. Just scouting around and cheering people on makes me feel good.

Great! We can use these things down the line...

COSMIC COWGIRL MINI CHALLENGE 1 (week 2): GETTING TO KNOW YOUUUUUUUUUU

This is a multi part mini challenge, but it should be pretty straight forward...

1. Let's start a Facebook group. If you pm me your contact info, I will invite you into the group. It will be a secreettttt....

2. Get to know your team mates really, really well. If you haven't done this already, start following and posting on each other's challenge threads. Basically, memorize everyone's challenges. Sort of stalk each other! Not in a creepy way, tho (no SWF, please). Just cozy up. We're a team, now! CHEER!

Yeah!!!! That is awesome :) Have you been doing anything different or just running your bum off up hills?

Weightloss is not my main focus. I actually haven't lost any weight in... what has it been... 4 months? I don't think the size change happened suddenly. In fact, it might have occurred a while ago, but I rarely buy jeans so I've just been tightening my belt and moving on with my life. Sort of anticlimactic, I know. But I'm a size 8 now! Cheer!

WEEK 3 CHALLENGE: Solving Problems

This challenge is nearly halfway over. Congratulations on sticking with it! Also, thanks so much for taking the time to get to know each other, if you weren't already acquainted, and for joining the facebook group (if you did that).

This mini challenge is going to be a scenic-workshop challenge.

1. Do something AWESOME!!!! Then report back. BONUS POINTS: Take a picture of the awesome and post it on this thread or the Facebook page.

2. What's hard? Think about the goal that sucks the most this challenge. Reflect on what makes it so difficult, and ways to make it easier on yourself. Post about it on this thread. Then, we can help troubleshoot.

Thanks for participating, and good luck!

This is a great mini-challenge! It really falls in line with a couple of things I have been battling with.

Thank you for making it easier to tackle :)

Sure thing! Anytime. Maybe someone else (you?) can pick the next mini challenge? Like a "tag, you're it" type of thing.

Okay, I'll start writing about the hardest thing this challenge. It's pretty easy because I'm working on it (read: procrastinating) right now.

I'm looking for jobs, and for some reason I just hate applying. I hate writing the same things over and over, I hate job interview questions, and I really hate being put under the microscope, or worse... not being considered at all. Everything is exacerbated by the fact that I am in the midst of a nearly 180 degree career change, and maybe even a full career 360? It's a trying time of job searching and self searching.

On my thread, a friend of mine pointed out that I need focus more on the process instead of the failure and the whining, along with the frustration of not having the new job that I want. My ideas are:

1. Do it a set amount of time each week. Have a time goal and stick to it.

2. Apply for a set number of positions each week, even if they don't look like exactly the right job, just to get my resume out there.

...Any thoughts?

Part 1: ran across the I-5 bridge from Washington to Oregon. The bridge is about 3/4 of a mile. I am scared of water and bridges. I have run across it before, but it was a long time ago. Here is a picture: esanu4y8.jpg

Part 2:

I think my biggest challenge this time around is getting up for runs in the cold weather. I typically run in shorts and knee highs because I don't own running tights and the prospect of getting out of bed to go run in the cold is such a turn off. I also get really anxious when I work and have to do longer runs before work. I was considering just getting up earlier. That worked once, but I am not sure it is sustainable. This week I have shorter runs (3miles) and I know I can get them done in a reasonable time.

Rogaecia, it is so cool that you ran over the i5 bridge! Truly awesome.

For running outside in the cold, I think you just gotta do it and hope you will warm up during the course of the run. You know, I used to run in jeans a lot during the winter. If it's super cold like it has been, you could try that.

You could also mix it up with indoor training options (know anyplace that has a treadmill?) but then you wouldn't have such pretty bridge photos at the end.

Treadmills and I don't get along. I think posting on my thread or Facebook about my runs is helping me get out of bed. I think this next winter I will invest in running tights- so I can sleep in them and then get out of bed all toasty :D
