Panczo
Well, I was having a hard time to figure out my challenge, but finally come up with smth I actually look forward to. Which may indicate that my motivation for a change and fight will reload someday. Now I'm doing it more like on autopilot – which actually amaze me. thank you all previous NF challengesI'm ditching out all the tmnt theme for now. It's just me - taking the beginning of the year with some wrap up and new ideas. Which means this challenge gonna be pretty multi-tasking - my biggest enemy and my biggest love at the same time Main Quest: Just staying on the wagon will do. And figuring smth more definite for future challengesGoals: 1. KEEP THE GOOD STUFF GOING Since we have new year, I think it's a good idea to wrap up all the good habits I've implemented during last year challenges and keep them all together as one goal.- workout at least 3x/week – and that mine friends includes lifting weights in my basement again *- eat healthy breakfast every work-day 5x/week: - I decided not to eat breakfast during this challenge - let's call it an experiment- don't drink coffee more than 2x/ week- plan my day in the mornings 6x/week- do home movie evenings max 2/week** 2. LIMIT THE BAD STUFF AKA ALCOHOL – WITH MY GIRL AT HOME Creating another good habit here. Should went well since my girl is with me on this one. Currently we are drinking like 3-4 glasses of wine per week. Too much. First of all we need to stop buying wine all the time and drink only the one we made ourselves last summer - there are still few bottles in the basement - don't drink alcohol at home more than 1 portion x/week (portion = beer, glass of wine or any amount of high-volume alcohol) 3. TRY NEW STUFF AT LEAST ONCE. FUN GOAL I need to try doing new stuff and see what I like and what I don't before I make commitment to try it as a habit. Mostly kitchen stuff since nutrition is my week spot. But also searching for a nice morning routines. - try doing protein bars - buy my first ever protein powder. I've got few recipes- try doing multi-veggie soup and blend it into smoothie - my grandma & sis style - delicious!!- try new recipe for some raw veggie salad - maybe I will finally find smth I find tasty- try a bio-energetic routine few times in the mornings - like this - try some full body stretching routine in the mornings- don't have any yet but should be easy to find smth- try to finish all the 'my own work' before 8pm and then just chill out - great idea for my relationship, sleep and general peacefulness and happiness- try meditation tapes directed to healing injuries - bc why not I want to get back to meditation anyway. I just need to find some cool 5-10mins recordings. Maybe on the doyogawithme.com ? 4. LIFE MINI QUESTS. Get done the small stuff I was procrastinating to do for a while now. Leave the big goals, bucket lists, life changes etc. for later. - sell my stuff (books, pc games, puzzles) for charity (WOŚP) BEFORE 12th january- clean out my bookies accounts - all of them - it's goodbye time with online gaming. Good thing is a have smth to withdraw hmm... what should I do with the money?- get another math book for my math re-learning- do a web search for a career counseling office somewhere near my place- do a web search for a chiropractor/physiotherapist/orthopedist/bio-energotherapist who knows a lot about sport injuries - so he/she could tell me smth SMART about my elbow injury - I'm not sure if I will find someone like that near bye but it doesn't hurt trying !!! What will happen during this challenge: - very busy and stressful time at work while my co-worker (my dad) is out for health-holidays until 25th jan- 2 days (25-26.jan) of pre-marriage counseling- 4 days (6-9.feb) – snowboard weekend - yay!! that’s it I know it’s a lot. I am prepared that this challenge will be a fail in some areas due to multitasking. But I’m not ready to simplifying and focus yet… I will count this challenge a win if I manage to stay with it till the end - and have at least 50% done !! Now all I need to do is try to keep peace and pace * YES, I’m lifting again – although my elbow is still hurting a little bit I’m doing it for sanity reasons, cause nothing calms me down so good like a lifting session, but I need to add that weights that I lift are ridiculously light – like front squats 10kg. Flys 2x2kg. Deadlift 14kg. So the sanity comes more from the simple fact of lifting anything than lifting heavy. I also plan to progress really slowly and checking on my elbow whether it feels worse from that lifting or not… so far it’s OK ** we are such a movie freaks that we can watch like 6 movies per week if we don't control ourselves. I know my girl hates me for that one goal - but I love how much time I can save watching only movies I REALLY REALLY wanna see instead of watching all the crap out there. She still watches like 4 movies per week though - I'm not forcing her to any of my weird goals ... just so you know S.L.U.T Elf Druid - Level 8 looking around for happiness || tracking || #intro || #old "Most people think they’ll feel good once they reach some goal. Panczo
to make math easier I'm not counting this week into challenge stats although I'm doing good.So far I'm doing all the habits from goal 1 and 2 but I didn't do anything from 3 and 4 but they are one time stuff so I reckon I still have 5 weeks to do them one thing though: selling my stuff for charity should be done today and tomorrow !!! I need to focus on that after I'm done with all the chorus stuff today...!! and a inspirational picture. Panczo
today I tried one of the salad recipes. cabbage with few other vegs - carrots, onions, apples, fennel, kitchen was looking like a war ground when I've finished - I'm not a good cook cabbage should become more soft but it didn't - no idea why the salad isn't bad although not smth I would enjoy doing and eeating everyday without anything else on the plate. Now the kitchen is clean and I'm enjoying cool drink beer one and only portion of alcohol at home for this week !!! oohhh and I also tried meditation called: Heal chronic pain - from doyogawithme - I felt asleep few minutes before it ended which means it relaxed me a lot I also placed on sale one item (puzzle) from my stuff - tommorow will do the rest !! that's it !!! Ok, I honestly have no idea what do u think "Premarriage counseling" means :D but I think I said it wrong = I guess it should be: Premarital teachings. That's the church law in our country - if u want a church marriage - u need to attend to those. Panczo
ok challenge update: I've had a good weekend!I did put for sale at auction few of my belongings for charity which feels great as always. I also did easy and pleasant stretching routine - although I don't think I will be doing them in the mornings - I am too cold and I don't want to hurt myself... more like afternoon sessions or so. I also did energizing routine 2nd time in the mornings - and that is more likely to stick. Panczo
Alright so challenge update week 2 on the run.... Yesterday was our last dance class - we've got certificates and it was pretty nice I feel like the best things those classes did to me was decreasing my reluctance for the dance floor. And of course me and D could spend more time together outside our house So I have 2 workouts behind with squash waiting in Saturday. But I think I might hit the gym today for light lifting session - especially since my prev workout was interrupted by a dude who came too early to fix my water heater :/ Other habits do go smoothly as well. I'm planning my day in the mornings witch helps me be more organized and do more especially at work. Plus I didn't drink any coffee nor see any movies yet. It might change today though (with the movies) also zero alcohol so far Today I want to buy lots of veggies for my TRY of multi-veggie soup - my kitchen will be a huge mess one more time and I am close to buy my first ever protein powder - which took me lots of time yesterday to read about all the different kinds and what they do and how to choose the best one !!! OMG it's just the protein powder Panczo! Relaaaaaaaax and buy anyone!! Anyways, I'm also doing good at life mini quests - waiting for my math book and almost clean out the bookies accounts. that's it for today. Time to work .... Panczo
finally got some time to post a proper update: this last week was hardcore cause of my job. I was alone and doing a job of 3 people. Plus I had to sleep outside my house which messed up with my schedule and habbits a bit. goal 1. keep the good stuff:+ i managed to plan my day ahead and not watching to many movies. - I drunk to many coffee ( I failed in the weekend while being at the Premarital teachings - they had such a good coffee, there was pretty cold, and the money went for charity so I just drunk ) and I workout only 2 times since being away from my gym at the basement 4 days this week so both my fails are due to an extraordinary schedule and I think next week will be back in order so no regrets from my side goal 2. limit alcohol at home to 1x/week+ accomplished although my girl was tempting me at sunday !! goal 3. try new stuff+ I did my new stretching routine after both gym sessions - it was great - I will do it if I'm only not hurrying anywhere+ I did once more meditation with 20min mp3 about healing chronic pain - very relaxing goal 4. life mini-quests+ I did sent all items sold for charity - few is still waiting in the line+ I did few other life mini-quests not mentioned here on challenge: bought a winter jacked, bought a card game called: saboteur , fixed the closet door so taking into account all the circumstances I'm happy about that week. I kept my mind peaceful and I survived while doing a bit of the challenge onward to week 4 !! Panczo
week 4 (mine 3rd) wrap up all in all it was very productive week. I was pretty downcast entire week but that didn't stop me doing few cool things about the challenge and not only. goal 1. keep the good stuff:-everything is in order here.-I did 3 lifting sessions - I'm not sure if barbell rows are good for my lower back but since I'm lifting only 12kg at them, I will try my best to work at my technique and if I can't correct it, I will change than movement to smth else for my back - my lower back is trained anyway during deadlifts and planks !!!= movies, planning and coffee all in check great week for my dyscypline despite not best mood levels.... damn those mood dips :/ goal 2. limit alcohol at home to 1x/weekzero alcohol at home for this week - there were 2 drinking nights with friends so it's great I managed to not add more drinking to that goal 3. try new stuff- I bought my first ever protein powder WTC it's one of the cheapest with no flavour, but hopefully it will be eatable now I only need to make some protein bars - I did another meditation session with mp3 recording - weird that my elbow for kinda like feeling worse after it but hey, no one said it will work miracles... it does relax me a lot though - also done 2 stretching sessions after gym - one at the gym (no lying down due to dirty floor) and one at home goal 4. life mini-quests- finally I have all my money from my bookies account back at my bank account it's been years since I started betting so it feels sad shutting that chapter down. but deep down inside I know it's good thing to do before I would lose it all or do smth against the law...- all week I was doing my best to stop doing any "hard" stuff before 8pm and then just chill out with my girl, friends, book or movie. It went great and I did it 4 times. I'm not sure wheater it helped my mood swings... it will require further pursuit ....- I've found career counseling office near my town but she didn't mail me back about her prizes so I am confused ... I know I want to call her, explain everything and make appointment but I'm pretty shy I guess and my fears stop me from calling her. That will be my mini-goal for next week you all have a great week Elf Druid - Level 8 looking around for happiness || tracking || #intro || #old "Most people think they’ll feel good once they reach some goal. Panczo
We all know that feeling (I think).Any particular reason?Great work on the challenge so far Panczo. Keep the momentum, one foot in front of the other. thx E I guess many reasons put together in a pot and mixed thoroughly i.e. disliking my job that I don't even now how to quit, neither where to go after + too many health problems at once + dealing with my father health issuess + not the best times in my relationship with my fiancee (although that might be mostly my fault) + being totally confused with my life priorities + being unable to simply like myself and my life sometimes/often ... and above all I have no idea where to start fixing all that stuff - although small voice in my head is whispering me: in your head - maybe he's right ... ok, enough of this grumpy face Panczo, time to put my hard hat on ... wahtever that means Elf Druid - Level 8 looking around for happiness || tracking || #intro || #old "Most people think they’ll feel good once they reach some goal. Laureleye
A lot of stuff to feel helpless about...and INTJ does not do well with helpless. Time to shift your point of view a little. You're doing things about you're health, you studying your math. I think you're doing great (and I know the voice in your head is saying "but you don't know the truth..."). Sometimes the only thing you can do is try not to lose too much ground. Maybe there are some little things you can do. Spiff up your resume. Start looking for a job (although I'm clueless at how that is done in the 21st century) even if it's just for the purpose of identifying something that would be fun and figuring out how to get there. The hardest part of the workout is lacing up your shoes'"10 | 11 | 12 | 13 | 14 | 15 | Current Challenge |INTJ | MFP | FitBit Link to comment
Panczo
thanks L - trying to keep my ground is smth I'm trying to do recently - not letting myself be overwhelmed by all these factors and just leting them go once in a while to enjoy everyday's life.
