noxiousGnome
Life Goal: Obtain a 3.0 or higher at midterms for GPA Specific Goals: (+1 WIS for each task completed effectively at the end of the challenge) - Spend one hour everyday doing class work minimally (5 days a week == 5 hours a week)- Spend one hour a day studying notes and reading the material minimally(5 days a week == 5 hours a week)- Spend less than an hour online everyday doing non-school related tasks.(‘multitasking’ is not allowed) Side-Quests: - Take one day a week and re-evaluate my time management (+1 WIS)- Take at least two days a week doing some sort of exercise for an hour a day (+1 STR) This challenge for me is all about focusing on school related feats of the mind. Teros
Looks good. Is there a plan on when to schedule this stuff? Like, do you have a certain time of day set aside to work on this? Or is it just when you have a bit of free time? Or is that what the side-quest is supposed to do? Also, will there be any changes in eating? The better you fuel yourself, the more you can study and exercise. I found changing how I ate helped with that foggy feeling when trying to study. Link to comment

If you're going into battle, you've got to have the right fuel! And pizza and too much coffee aren't necessarily it. Good luck with the midterms. School is important and studying is the way to make it through, but remember to take time for yourself sometimes too. Some people have talked about meditation and mindfulness. That might be a good thing to consider if you're having issues with focusing. Great challenge, good luck with everything! noxiousGnome
Well I appreciate the excitement that my thread has gotten heh. So I am going to try my best to dissect both posts and give some sort of answer: Looks good. When you say 'schedule stuff' I am assuming you mean the side quest sorta stuff? Cause honestly I think that's the best way to go with it. I have a chunk of time three days a week that I can find myself doing some sort of exercise specific stuff, but I really am trying to work on my grades. I am doing my best to figure out how much to change and what when it comes to eating, but it's not something I do easily enough. I know I have to stop eating (or cut it down a bit) the stuff I do eat, so my main goal currently with food intake is to use what I am eating and moderate it, try to remove the naughty stuff as best as I can... I totally agree with Renegade. Great challenge, good luck with everything!Meditation and mindfulness is a bit harder to work on. As for how i plan to basically evaluate what I need to do, have I have to do, what I haven't done, and what I have been doing and do my best to limit the things harming my goals without harming myself. noxiousGnome
A bit late on a true update... But here's the run down: Week 1 since I started: - Spend one hour everyday doing class work minimally --> Classes just official started, so I decided that this is out for week 1- Spend one hour a day studying notes and reading the material minimally --? Even though classes did just start I did take the time to read a few of the books I had to purchase. COMPLETED- Spend less than an hour online everyday doing non-school related tasks.(‘multitasking’ is not allowed) --> See First bit! Week 2 (This week)- Spend one hour everyday doing class work minimally --> Spending an hour everyday working on class work had been a tough and rough thing, there wasn't much to really do for the classes so I spent time reading, re-writing my notes- Spend one hour a day studying notes and reading the material minimally See above- Spend less than an hour online everyday doing non-school related tasks. This is actually pretty easy once I returned to habits I formed last semester. I just have to work on assignment for my one online class in a little bit. Teros
My problem with schoolwork is that organizing it somehow always used to get messed up. I would have more and more scattered places for notes, and it would become a huge hassle to even keep all my notes together. Whether it was 1 class having 5 different text documents, or spelling errors, or tons of dittos that teachers loved to just hand out but never actually read or give any reason for us to hold on to until the end of the semester- it just ended up always starting off nice and neat; but then turning into chaos after 2 months. It's good to see that things are going along smoothly. Have you given any thought into what Class you are going to be next challenge? Studies seem to fit with adventurer or druid. Link to comment

noxiousGnome
I can imagine that working well. I don't have that luxury though =( So far though have been pretty good in keeping myself in line. It will take me some use to getting better at it, but I think I can handle it heh Gnomish Superhero-In-Training S3|D3|S1|C3|W4.75|CH3Gnomish Trials and Tribulations1|2(a)|3|4Gnomes Have Epic Quests Too! They tend to fluctuate a lot depends on where they are placed. If I move my scale over a bathroom tile- i magically gain 10 pounds lol. Cool stuff.
