Hazard
Super Solid lifts. It's interesting. Moving to 531 and lowering the weights for the "prep" cycle as Wendler suggests is a hard pill to swallow. I'm definitely lifting lower than I can be. (The numbers will go back up in time, no worries there). But, because of the increased volume I'm a heck of a lot more sore right now. That'll pass as I adjust. But it feels weird to be sore again 3 Quote You haven't seen my Final Form I Stand With Gina Carano Link to comment

Xahn
Why nervous? Because I'm terrible at them. BUT! Today, I was not so terrible at them! I think I've finally got it figured out, and I'm excited. 5th time I've deadlifted ever, and I am now at 275 x 3 as my max. I think I could do more, but the bar was just slipping out of my hands! Deadlifts really are all form, huh? It's really amazing feeling when you get it right. 2 Quote Xahn Human Level 3 Adventurer STR: 7 DEX: 5 STA: 2 CON: 5 WIS: 7 CHA: 6 Battle Log, Challenges: #1, #2, CURRENT Link to comment

I started seeing slippage around 250lbs with DOH and switched to mixed and pulled 315lbs where overall strength was the issue and not grip strength. No chalk though. The chalk today would have solved the problem, it's a worn bar and I just couldn't keep my hands dry. Even with the mixed grip, it was just starting to slip. Once I get to 225 I use mixed grip. 1 Quote Xahn Human Level 3 Adventurer STR: 7 DEX: 5 STA: 2 CON: 5 WIS: 7 CHA: 6 Battle Log, Challenges: #1, #2, CURRENT Link to comment

matty_mcfly
Looked up the version you were looking at so I'm editing my original lazy question. The newer version makes things a bit more complicated but I do like the 7 week cycle idea. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 1 Quote "I can. I will. Xahn
Quick update on the bar issue since you're here Mattyboy (sorry Hazard!). One of the trainers let me borrow his personal bar that he keeps in the back that actually has grip left on it. I didn't think about my grip once on 275#. It really was an awful bar... Mostly for snatch grip, but the conventional grip is still good.High five!Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk Quote "I can. I will.
