AlexCold
Who owns the zombie apocalypse survival guide? I don't currently own a copy but it should be in most householdsI've had it since high school before zombies were cool. :hipsterpreparedness:Lets just say its a good work of fiction. He does make some good points but really his weapons and transportation section is silly and based on loose assumptions. The zombie cases section is a good read though. If you're serious about preparedness you are more benefited with picking up an actual survival skills manual. Killing zombies is easy compared to actual survival. Vella
Surely Australians should be able to just wrestle them and tear their heads off with their bare hands. Right? Nah, easier to set our wildlife on them. We've got a few spiders around here I reckon could do the trick... Hm, my new chin up bar could be a good bludgeoning weapon... Mad Hatter
Does venom work on zombies? Maybe zombie vs crocodiles would work better. Can't say I have much experience with scorpions, but I was not pleased the time one crawled into my tent. 1 Link to comment
Vella
Yeah, but it's easier to get a zombie close to a spider without getting bit yourself than it is to get a zombie close to a croc without becoming particularly loud dinner. Jittersthe.Clown
The pinnacle of my life's work was due back to report any minute. I was looking forward to hearing his report. Welcome back, my boy. How was your first day and a half out? You seem a little... ragged. And you're smiling as though happy. I am. I started with repeatedly lifting a metal bar with circular weights on them up and down whilst laying on my back. There was one onlooker who said that she would help me with the bar if I needed it. She was very nice to offer. I required her help once, and she happily obliged. After I put the circular weights away, she asked if I wanted to "go for a run" with her. It was strange because she was on some sort of stationary platform with a moving tread that she ran on. We didn't go anywhere. I decided I wanted to try it. We ran for the equivalent of 2 miles on these platforms. I could feel some of my lethargy melt away after our first half of a mile. I enjoyed this a great deal. The platform is called a "treadmill". It is used for indoor running when space is an issue. You haven't used one before? I have not. This was fun to run with someone, however. I will try this again. Early this morning, because I scheduled it, I jumped a rope that I spun around me. I believe this is why I look "ragged". I may have pushed the limits of my chassis a little too far. That would certainly do the trick. Perhaps a day off in between cardio sessions is in order for now. Regardless, well done! How are you feeling? I feel like I need more offline time, however, my scheduled week will not allow that just yet. Oh, one more thing. I had stopped to refill my automobile's fuel reserves. To my surprise, that young woman who helped me with the bar when it became too heavy was there as well. I do not think she saw me. I had just finished filling up and I went inside to pay the nice attendant. She had been finishing up as it became my turn to pay. I asked the attendant to charge my card for the fuel of both dispensers. He looked at me strangely and asked if I was sure. I indicated that I was and I quickly paid for the fuel. I wanted this to be a surprise, so I asked the attendant to keep me anonymous. I wasn't able to reach my vehicle before she would have seen me, so I made myself as inconspicuous as I could manage in the shops rows of products for sale. The young woman went up to pay and when the attendant told her it was already paid for, she started to cry. I do not understand this reaction. I thought she would be happy. She had asked the attendant who was nice enough to do that, but he was true to his word and didn't reveal me as the benefactor. She left with a smile on her face, despite her tears. As a reward for keeping his word, I decided to purchase a beverage of the attendants choice. He gratefully accepted. This elicited a good emotion in my processor. I exited the shop and drove home to have a meal. Is this considered doing good? I was stunned at all of this. The machine designated "Jitters" had not only engaged in a two mile run after lifting, he had managed to get his first RAK of six completed. My A.I. wanted to award him a second one for purchasing the beverage for the gas station clerk, but I felt that wasn't quite big enough. Paying for the young ladies gas, however, was. I was impressed, to say the least. That most certainly is. I am very impressed in your first day out. Will you be going back out there? I will not. After this morning's jump, I feel like I need to recharge. I have work to do for an extra hour today and tomorrow morning so I can start later on Friday. I have a schedule to keep. I should note that after my meal and making sure the smaller bots in my dwelling were safely recharging for the evening, I made some good progress on an artistic project. It should be complete over the course of the next 5 days. I shall share the results with you when I complete it. I hope you have a good day, X-51. So, for those who just want the summery:Squats:1x5x453x5x110 Bench:1x5x453x5x903x5x110 <-- needed a spot on my last set.0/12 Run:2 miles @ 8.5 minute miles. I was a little surprised by this. I haven't really run all winter and I was faster than I thought. I am aiming for 7.5 min/mile for my 7k next month, so I have somewhere to aim for. 1/18And yes, I paid the very nice woman's gas. I wasn't expecting for her to start crying in the station, but I guess good deeds are a bit of a rarity these days. I hope I run into (with) her again. She was fun to run with. 1/6 Level 2 Warforged Druid STR: 2, DEX: 1, STA: 3, CON: 3, WIS: 2, CHA: 3 "If these people tell this story to their children as they sleep; then maybe someday they'll see a hero is just a man who knows he is free." Batwoman
That's so nice Jitters I was going to put this on my thread, but it feels more appropriate here. I was crying on my way home from work yesterday just listening to this trailer on a podcast (Fatman on Batman). The movie is about... well just watch the trailer. I bawled because Batman always hits me straight in the feels. http://www.wearebatman.com/ All the proceeds from the showings go to charity. It's just a really awesome thing that this lovely couple is doing. I highly recommend checking out the podcast they did with Kevin Smith. Jittersthe.Clown
Bad news: every year many people in the world die from scorpion stings. Good news: hardly anyone ever dies in Arizona, because antivenin is available for severe cases. According to the University of Arizona" in the past 20 years there have been no reported fatalities in the U.S. due to scorpion stings." Certain people may be allergic to scorpion venom just like some people are allergic to bee stings (or strawberries or peanuts...) although according to the same source no cases of that type of allergic reaction has been reported in Arizona Okay, AZ may go on my list of places in case of mandatory relocation. Batwoman
Not fond of that almost law (needs to be signed by the governor) that allows businesses to refuse service to LGBT customers if their religious beliefs involve that sort of discrimination. AlexCold
Not fond of that almost law (needs to be signed by the governor) that allows businesses to refuse service to LGBT customers if their religious beliefs involve that sort of discrimination. But I'm in for the sunny weather and weights! Also this place:I don't want to get too political but I will. This law is more of an amendment of a religious freedom law that allows a person not partake in any events due to religious reasons. The new law essentially changes persons to include foundations, charities, businesses, etc. This in theory would protect a church or business from doing something they didn't want to do. Now that could mean a church not being sued because they didn't want a gay wedding to happen on their property. The trick is if this is unchecked it could turn into blatant discrimination, ala the south pre1968. Now personally I don't care what a person does as long they dont physically hurt others. And in my opinion, gay marriage is just a civil union of love. Religion isnt a factor usually in those cases. Now I also, think that if a business owner wants to not supply flowers to a gay wedding that's their business. They don't have to do it (unless under contract). Its bad business but that's their choice and they shouldn't be afraid of being sued.
