Last challenge did not end so well for me.

And this challenge is coming at a busy time - new degree starting, need to seriously start getting more work...

 

So here are the goals.  Challenge 2 Redux, if you will.
But I don't know the Electric Boogaloo

 

Sleep

Ah, my old nemesis, we meet again.  Sleep and I have had a patchy relationship at best.  So, here we go again.  1am is bedtime. Every night.

Skip no nights: A+

Skip three nights: A

Skip six nights: B

Skip nine nights: C

Skip more: F

 

This challenge gets +2 Cha, +3 Con.

 

 

Chin-ups

I will do one!  Can't climb a building and swing on a web if you can't lift your own body weight.

Chin up, more than one set of more than one rep each: A+

Chin up, more than one set of at least one rep each: A

Chin up, more than one rep: B

Single chin up: C

No chin ups: F

 

This challenge gets +3 Str.

 

Parkour: Do Some

One thing I did manage to do last time was improve parkour skills, a little.  So this time, we've got some more specific stuff going:

 - Practice once a week

 - Improve box jump height

 - Improve jump length

 - Be able to roll from running, not just standing.

 

All goals met: A+

All practices met, but only two goals met: A

Missed a practice, two or more goals met: B

Missed more than one practice, and/or less than two goals met: C

Missed several practices, one or fewer goals met: F

 

This challenge gets +3 Dex, +2 Sta

 

 

And, of course, the life-other-than-fitness goal

 

Harp

Twice a week, it shall be done.

 

All practices met: A+

Miss one practices: A

Miss three practices: B

Miss five practices: C

Miss more than five: F

 

This challenge gets +2 Cha

Looks good! Best of luck for this challenge! I do think you're weird with sleep as your nemesis. Sleep is my best friend haha (well... it figures. Cats sleep a lot right? ) anyway I'm tucked in at 10PM usually O___o I know it's really early for most people!

I really like your sleep one (they're all great, but I like that one most)! Often times people seem to forget about that area of being healthy! Also, your harp one is pretty awesome as well!

Lilith - My parents have some *horror* stories from when I was a kid...

 

Vengefulpear - I'm really looking forward to the pull-ups.  I'm going to feel like such a boss.

 

Bats - Hecks yes to the Spidey memes!  I look forward to these every challenge!

 

Jitters - Aww!  I'll be hanging around your thread, too, for the doses of awesome :)

 

Alex - That may be the best thing I've seen all day.  I want that shirt now.

 

The Beard - Cheers!  It's one I know I particularly struggle with ... and this year it's going to matter like it hasn't before.  The harp one I'm pretty excited about, too - I really want to get to the stage where I can compose, but I know that's a loooong way off yet...

 

And Phatkid - Nope, I lied earlier.  This is the best thing I've seen all day.  Sorry, Alex - sassy Spidey just loses something in the face of Spidey pissing off the Hulk.

Oh, and I think I was supposed to post motivation or something.

 

Um.

Wow, this is harder than it seems.

 

Kind of boils down to 'You know that person who seems to have everything and do all the cool stuff, having a job they adore, following their childhood dreams, and they're also really fit and healthy and look amazing and play instruments and their hobbies all sound awesome?  Yeah, I wanna be that person'.  I'll have the job bit down pat once I actually break into the publishing industry and finish a couple more degrees, and the rest of it ... well, better get started now, I guess.

 

I mean, I could sit around waiting for a radioactive spider, but hey, as long as I'm waiting, best make the waiting awesome.

That's great motivation! A lot of people don't know that contrary to popular belief radioactive spiders travel quite slowly so you're better off making yourself awesome waiting for it to arrive! :D

Oh that's awesome, definitely a sturdy way to make sure you can have food, which I'm sure you enjoy :P And still practice those skills! Maybe we should start up an NF writing group...

I write fantasy, no use denying it or trying to make it sound literary. Hopefully I write interesting and compelling fantasy, though.  An NF writer's club would be sort of awesome, though.  Know any other candidates?

 

Raevn, thanks!  The harp is an instrument even I can coax a nice noise out of, which is always a plus.  Sleep is an ongoing thing for me, and I need to get it sorted sooner rather than later.

Well there's me, Jitters, you :P and there was a group somewhere that I did a while back where rebels told a story and carried it on after each other. 

But I figure that a writing group might be more useful overall to making us better writers if it's some friendly critques

Yay, three people!  Friendly critiques are great for improvements - I remember I did a writing course a year or so back, and the only helpful thing about it was the bit where the tutorial group critiqued each other's work.  Some great ideas got thrown around.

 

There's got to be other writerly-minded people on NF, surely...

I was a part of that story.  I'm sure there would be many people here interested.  My biggest problem at this point if making the time to write.  I just don't make it a priority like I should.  That's going to change.

Well, so dawns Day 1!  Today, my chin up bar is being set up, so I can have a go at that goal.  I'm also going to see if I can sneak in some harp practice this afternoon.  I have schemes for Parkour later this week, but not until I've done my presentation on Wednesday.

 

Today I woke up at a relatively reasonable hour, so I'm looking to get to bed on time tonight (I did last night!)

...I think I need to stick that up on my wall, or what passes for my wall.  Just ... yes.

Today, I did no parkour or harp or chin-ups (bar installation has been pushed back half a week.  Grr)

But it is now 12:30 and I'm about to crash, so I am starting off today getting to sleep on time.

I'm also more ready than I thought I'd be for my presentation on Wednesday (I was envisioning frantic writing until tonight, at least).  Actually, I just polished off the Powerpoint this morning, and all I need to do between now and Wednesday is as much practice as humanly possible.

 

Also, a friend got me onto Pinterest and now I'm drowning in Paleo smoothie recipes.  Halp.
