First Challenge! I'm a hardcore Whovian, so I'm bringing out my inner companion for this one. When The Doctor comes to take me on an adventure, I need to be prepared to run! So....

 

Main Quest: Complete the Couch to 5K app!

Goal: Go to my apartment complex's gym 4 times a week.

(Edit: Do C25K 4 times a week.)

 

Goal: Eat a healthy lunch at work instead of macaroni and cheese all the time.

(Edit: Eat 4 healthy meals/snacks a day. Limit pasta and bread! No bored eating!)

 

Goal: Quit smoking by the end of the 6 week challenge.

 

Life Quest: Finish my "Will You Be My Bridesmaid" DIY project that I've been putting off for far too long.

 

 

Motivation: I want to be healthy so that I don't end up in and out of the hospital and 500+ pounds like my father. I want to be able to live a long, happy, healthy life with my man, Colby, and our future children. At this rate, I'm probably subtracting 20 years from my life span. That's unacceptable. I'm getting my entire household into this too, since Colby and I hope to get married in December this year and we all want to look our best for the photos. Plus.. I want to look DAMN GOOD in my wedding dress when the times comes! ^.^

B - Completed 5 weeks of 8

C - Completed 4 weeks of 8

D - Completed 3 weeks of 8

F - 0 times a week

 

Goal 2:

A - Ate 4 healthy meals

B - Ate 3 healthy meals

C - Ate 2 healthy meals

F - Ate 0 healthy meals

(Drop letter grade if ate more than 5 times.)

 

Goal 3:

A - Quit smoking in 2 weeks or less

B - Quit smoking in 3 weeks

C - Quit smoking in 4 weeks

D - Quit smoking in 5 or more weeks

F - Did not quit smoking

Height: 5'8 inches

Weight: 240 pounds

I plan to keep track of meals, weight loss, grocery lists, workout plans, and more in this forum. If anyone is interested in my progress, feel free to follow. (: I'm picture crazy too, so expect lots of food, progress, motivation, and random nerdy pictures.

Good work with your goals and ratings!

 

For that stop smoking goal, I've never smoked, so I can't tell you how it is if you want to stop, but I read somewhere that you should go to the sauna the first 3 days to sweat the nicotine out of your body, maybe that helps you if you have the possibility in your gym?

And most of all, you have to really want it! If your not convinced, then it's gonna be hard!

But we believe in you and you'll do it!

Very impressive post!

 

As for quitting smoking, it worked for me to just stop buying them. Sounds like a cop-out, I know, but honestly I just woke up one day and couldn't afford them. A week later they tasted so bad that I never went back. But if you do decide to try cold turkey (which I recommend because it's like ripping off a band-aid) it helps to chew gum a lot and avoid people if you can.

Good luck with your goals...but you do realize this is 6 weeks and c25k is 8? Might want to adjust your grading for that ;-)

Thanks so much everyone for the encouragement!

 

As for smoking, I've tried cold turkey before and it didn't work for me. I'm planning to quit with one pack, cutting back smoking each day until I'm at 0 a day then viola! No more smoking. That's how I did it a few years ago. Should of never started back but oh well, past is the past. I can do something about my future. (:

 

Also, I work retail currently, so going to a sauna isn't in my budget, though Lord knows I'd love to go to one! (A whole spa for that matter!)

I'm getting my entire household into this too, since Colby and I hope to get married in December this year and we all want to look our best for the photos.

Just keep in mind that you can't make people care, you can just ask for their support. They have to want to better themselves as well and it has to be on their terms.  If they want to jump in as well with both feet, then awesome :)

All three of them do, and two have made nerdfitness accounts and challenges already! ^.^ We're all super excited and going grocery shopping in the morning, then working out.We all eat generally the same meals (especially dinner), so it helps to work together. We're even going to Fresh Market instead of a general grocery store like Wal-Mart or Winn-Dixie. Time to level up our lives!

It's officially the first day of the 6 week challenge! (And the day before my 21st birthday, woot!) Sooo!

In the morning I'll have my usual banana and glass of milk for breakfast, then Zetxeno and I will head to Fresh Market to grocery shop. I'll probably end up going picture crazy. ^//^' For some reason I love to grocery shop, he hates it. I think it may just be because it's a form of shopping. c:

Remember your main quest can take longer than the challenge quests, so no stress on it being longer than 6 weeks. The 6 week goals are supposed to bring you toward the main quest goal!

I would just do anything to be a companion, but I am supremely glad no one calls me souffle girl. Because I currently look like a well-risen souffle and I would cry. I'd rather be the girl who waited.... For diet and exercise to pay off and make her hot. And so they shall for us both, my friend!

Thanks! I felt kinda weird once I realized it, but that's true they can last longer. Today I did day one of the C25K and I got the biggest smile out of all the smiley or frowny faces even though I didn't finish otherwise I would of been late to work. I guess it's like their scale of how well you did. (: I'll post an update of how my challenge has been going soon.

 

Amy is my idol looks wise, because I act just like her, and if I was skinny with green eyes I'd look like her. We even dress super similar.  And yeah, I'd probably pout if someone called me Souffle Girl, especially because Clara isn't one of my faves. I like her, but not as much as others. ^.^ -cough- Rose, Amy, and Rory. -cough- And Rory looks A LOT like my boyfriend. Legit, when I lose a bunch of weight, we're totally gonna cosplay them!

You can totally do this! Never been a smoker myself but I have been there as a beginner runner! I still remember the first time I lost track of time and ran longer than I was supposed to without a walk break. It felt amazing. Happy to help with any running related questions!

Your goals are similar to mine (well at least some of my other challenges) i always post I WILL NOT BE A FAT BRIDE!!! (infact i think i go put that in my thread now) but my challenge this time is focussed more on getting started.

 

and i love the fact that you used the doctor and running!! makes me want to run lol

Lunch: Spinach wrap with laughing cow cheese spread, turkey, chicken breast, provolone, lettuce and grapes (ermahgerd so gooood. Had another one today.)


Snack: Watermelon


Dinner: Joes Crab Shack Arctic Bay Steampot (didn't eat the white potatoes or corn)and shared an appetizer of crab dip.


Late night Snack: Mozzarella sticks (because people said since I was drinking I shouldn't get a salad it would make me sick. I still think they were full of it.. I wanted a salad.)

That's it for now! I've got to head to work. Dang, writing all this up takes FOREVER. I need to figure out a faster was of doing this. Ugh. I've been writing this off and on since noon and it's 4:15pm. But, as a little not, I really need to get to work on my C25K app. I haven't done it since Monday because I've been so busy and surrounded by people. Plus, it doesn't help that I turn as red as a lobster when I'm done so it's not like I can be like "an hour before work? Okay let's do it!" Cause I look like a sweaty red monster for like 2-3 hours after. Ugh. Stress. Okay, time to go to work. Byeeeee. <3
