Main Quest


 Ã˜ As with my first challenge I would like to lose 10 pounds in the next six weeks and 50 over the next year (down to 41). Challenge starting weight is 195.2 lbs. Original starting weight 204.8 lbs.


 


Specific Goals


 Ã˜ Eat a healthy breakfast and lunch, consisting of one ingredient foods. Adding to this I will eat my dinners on the slow-carb diet with one reasonable cheat day a week.


 Ã˜ Exercise at least three times a week using my CT-50 workouts and add pilates workouts on these days doing one core, one upper body, and one lower body a week. 


 Ã˜ Run at least twice a week (aiming for three times) in preparation on the Zombie 5K that happens in April 12.


 


Life Side Quest


 Ã˜ Complete my photo blog for the next six weeks without missing a day. Hope to complete the entire year in 2014. Keeping this goal for this challenge, I fell a little behind this week, still need a little more practice with this before I remove it from my goals. I'm also going to keep my drinking at a minimum this challenge. I cannot be a wino and loose weight! 


 


Motivation


 Ã˜ To get in shape and feel better about my body. I farm part-time and need to be able to lift 50 pound bags of feed.


          I want to be healthy and happy with myself while getting stronger. Also, now working toward my first 5k!

I really like how you're adding on to your first goals - that's a great way to solidify what you were working on, while still pushing yourself, I love it!

 

Are you keeping to one day a week for wine consumption?

Yes that is the plan. On the slow-carb diet you can have one glass of red wine a day, but I don't need that. I opened it up to one day a week instead of Saturdays because we have been using Sundays as our cheat days. So this gives me a little more flexibility on what day to have wine dependent on our cheat day.

Great challenge thread,  I usually troll everyone's threads looking for goals to pilfer (I should change myself to scout/their) and I wish I had checked yours first.

 

I love the single ingredient food - what a great way to look at it.  I haven't done any reading on slow carb. I might add that to the reading list.

 

You seem to have a good set of goals, just don't spread yourself too thin (speaking from experience).

Week 1 Day 1 Recap: Started my day with 16 ounces of black tea (PG Tips) with Truvia and light cream. My meals were as follows: 


Early Morning - 8 oz water and 1 scoop Egg Protein Powder - Chocolate Flavor (30 grams)


Breakfast - Two eggs over easy in light olive oil with smoked pork shoulder


Lunch - White Chicken Chili


Snack -  Steamed Brussels Sprouts with a little butter


Dinner - Corned Beef, Green Beans, Medium Golden Delicious Apple, and 1 oz of Plan Almonds


 


I drank 57 ounces of water and took all of my vitamins. Did not work out, guess what my body did to me, it fell asleep on the first day of the challenge and missed my workout. So much for starting off on the right foot!  :nonchalance: BOO!

Week 1 Day 2 Recap: Started my day with 16 ounces of black tea (PG Tips) with Truvia and light cream. My meals were as follows: 


Early Morning - No...Forgot my shake on the kitchen counter


Breakfast - Two eggs over easy in light olive oil 


Lunch - The last of the Corned Beef


Snack -  Steamed Brussels Sprouts with a little butter and Golden Delicious Apple


Dinner -  Grilled Market Salad from Chick-Fil-A with Harvest Nut Granola and Roasted Nut Blend (320 cals total) ,1 oz of Plan Almonds, Couple of slices of Honey Backed Ham


 


I drank 78 ounces of water and took all of my vitamins. I completed Week 3 Workout 3 with my Zombies Run 5k Training App. Ran for 41 mins, 2.08 miles, 189 cal burned


 


The bad about toady - No real bad, did have a diet coke with dinner because it was going to be a late night and I need the caffeine


The good about today - Did my photo blog and completed my workout (back in the saddle again!)

Dinner -  Smoked Boston Butt with Blue Cheese and 2 oz of Plan Almonds


 


I drank 42 ounces of water and took all of my vitamins. I completed CT-50 LV 2 - WO 15: 30 Seconds Of Work Followed By 20 Seconds Rest For 5 Rounds (16.40) of the following: Knelling Push-ups, Side Stepping Squats, Turkish Sit Up Right, Turkish Sit Up Left and Body Weight Pilates Beginner Core (15:00)


 


The bad about toady - No real bad, should have taken in more water but that's about it


The good about today - Did my photo blog and completed my workout (even thought it kicked my ass, hope I can continue to complete both in one day!)

Week 1 Day 4-7 Recap: So my week totally fell apart after Wend. I was having stomach issues and did not get my workouts in. On Thursday and Saturday I took nice long walks with the dogs through the woods because the weather was warm. I would say they were about 1.5 to 2 mile walks. My eating was on track except for Saturday (which was my cheat day). Amazingly I still lost weight, which was good, but I feel really crappy about missing workouts. My water intake was good during the week but fell apart over the weekend again. I only got in 24 oz on Sat and none on Sunday. 

 

On the plus side we have another baby goat on the farm! I went out to feed last night and there stood a baby, it always happens that way. Send me good vibes we can keep him dry and warm over the next 48 hours. We are expecting freezing rain today! The plan for this week is to complete all workouts, this will be my main goal. That is keeping the little one warm and dry. Any name suggestions?

 Ã˜ Exercise at least three times a week using my CT-50 workouts and add pilates workouts on these days doing one core, one upper body, and one lower body a week.  (35% boo..only got one in this week)


 Ã˜ Run at least twice a week (aiming for three times) in preparation on the Zombie 5K that happens in April 12. (50% only ran once, but walked in the nice weather twice)

Worst challenge week so far!!! I was really not mentally in to working out this week. Plus there were major life things going on. We lost another two hives of bees, so all the equipment had to be torn down, frames out in the freezer and equipment moved up stairs. There is another baby goat on the farm, which is fun but makes me tired. Had some unusually stomach cramping this week as well. Not quite sure what brought that on. Here is two week too and nailing all my workouts!

I like Lillehammer. For some reason, I always want to give baby animals pretentious old man names. Like Montgomery. Or Bertram.

Oooohhhhh... Bertram. I'm fully expecting if this goat gets slapped with the Lillehammer or Bertram moniker, that it will be dressed in a red velvet vest - possibly with a pipe, and/or an alpine looking hat. And I'll want to cuddle the shit out of it, so that little guy had better brace himself :)
