DISCLAIMER!

Please, please don't rush this. We want you to get better, but we don't want you to force it and end up with an injury. Take it slowly, use the progression we'll offer you in the mini-challenge and never, ever strain yourself to the point of breaking yourself! There's some serious injuries that could happen with this and we really don't want to add you to the rehab-section next challenge!

Fellow assassins!

Instead of the creative mini-challenge we've had over the last few challenges, this time around we're going to work on our skills rather than our creativity.

As you may have already seen in Vengefulpear's awesome Week 1 mini-challenge, the skill we're working on iiiiiis *drum roll*

BRIDGES!

Some of you can do it already, some are miles away, and some are just about to get there - and we're going to try and help you!

You can use this thread to ask questions, post progress-pictures, get a form-check and anything else that's on your mind.

The weekly mini-challenges will be bridge-related as well. You don't need to participate in them to work on this skill, and you don't need to work on the skill to participate in them - but they focus on those areas that are crucial in learning to do bridges and will hopefully help those of you that want to give it a try.

Mad Hatter has agreed to watch this thread and help you guys if you have questions, since she's an expert and spends her free time doing this: (at least I assume she does!)

And she's also helped us find exercises for the mini-challenges, so applause to her! The mini-challenges themselves of course come from our famous writer extraordinaire - Vengefulpear!

You can find the first mini-challenge here!

- Mini-challenges are not mandatory, feel free to ignore this one if you don't want to participate.
- Don't let mini-challenge hinder your own goals.
- If you're not sure how to register something, post it here.
- Don’t be afraid to ask a question if you’re unsure about something, that’s what the Guild Leaders are for!
- Keep it simple!

Have fun getting upside down, assassins! :)

That's exactly what I do! Minus the wrestling. And the beard. Wish I could grow a beard like that... Oh the fun...

Anyways, back on topic, as ApfelStrudi said I'll be here answering all questions and concerns you may have, so ask away! Unless you have questions about beards.

Now the mini-challenges can be completed individually, but if you feel like "yeah I really want to do bridges and do all the cool bridge things" then feel free to add on exercises to your repertoire as we progress, especially the exercises from the first few weeks. Hopefully we'll have you all building bridges like, umm, assassins in no time, and for those that can already do them don't worry, I have plenty of harder challenges in store. ;)

Yay, let's do this!

I'm trying to add some stretching and flexibility training to my workouts for this challenge and have been considering working towards back bridging for a while so I guess now is as good a time as any time be getting on with it. I occasionally get lower back aches so if this will relieve them, then definitely count me in.

Ooooh, very nice! I can't do a bridge it would be brilliant if I'd be able to by the end of the challenge! Btw does anyone have a good photoset/description of how to get into the bridge and what a 'good' bridge should look like?

I think we should add a disclaimer, completing all mini-challenges does not automatically mean you will grow a beard and start walking everywhere like that wrestler ;)

Something is telling me I might be able to answer questions related to that particular area... ;)

So happy that you guys like it :D

Me too!

My bridge is something between this:

And that:

Probably closer to the first one because my back hurt today :( Lots of room for improvement, I guess...

For you I prescribe lots of deep lunges to open up those hip flexors. :)

Already posted this in the mini challenge due to derping.

How's it look?

That looks really good! From this position I'd like you to push against the floor with your heels to straighten the legs and really open up those shoulders. You can rock back and forth shifting your weight more to the feet and then more to the shoulders.

Compared to mine? Awesome :D Generally speaking, I'll let Mad hatter give the grade

Hey we all start somewhere. :) It's fantastic that you can push up into a bridge in the first place!
