I have been quite successful in slaying sugar monsters in added/processed forms (i.e. cookies, candies, etc). But, recently, I have noticed some of the "healthy" stuff I am taking to treat/prevent headaches and migraines have a lot of "hidden" sugar. For example, an 8 oz cup of grape juice contains a whopping 40 grams of sugar. A medium banana has 15 ~ 20 grams of sugar. Although they are considered to be good sugar, I think too much can still be detrimental to health. So for this challenge, facing the sugar monsters would be one of my missions. Main Quest: Be able to lift my own body weight and look good while doing it.That's right. I think I am finally at a point that I think I can work toward to lift my own body weight. But, I want to look while doing it. That means I need to lose the layer of fat that's covering my toned muscles and must have good posture. The following three goals should help me work toward achieving my main quest. Goal 1: Focus on Sugar in Stuff I EatI am going back to the basics and tracking the amount of sugar I consume in all forms. I will minimize the amount of sugar I eat and consume an average of 175 grams to 200 grams of sugar per week (roughly 25-28 grams of sugar per day)* Grading: A. 5+ weeks stayed on target B. 4 weeks on target C. 3 weeks on target D. 2 weeks on target F. Only 1 week on target. Goal 2: Focus on Strength TrainingMust lift heavy things! I will strength train 3-4 times a week.* Grading: A. 5+ weeks stayed on target B. 4 weeks on target C. 3 weeks on target D. 2 weeks on target F. Only 1 week on target. Goal 3: Focus on PostureMust stand tall with shoulders back. Following Guide Here! Not sure how I am going to grade this... I am thinking maybe I will write down how much time I catch myself throughout the time for poor posture... Life Quest: Focus on Getting Work DoneMore specifically, must get dissertation work done. First deadline coming up, March 3rd. I am submitting a full revised proposal to my co-chairs and scheduling an in-person meeting late Aprily/early May to discuss possible proposal defense in June. I don't think grading is going to help me here. As I know that I don't know much, it's time to google about sugar. I know fructose is the worst kind of sugar however. Good luck!
