I definitely understand being embarrassed by working out. I do it really early so no one is up. I also have a no spectator rule. It does get easier though, keep rockin it

So, funny story. I noticed I had an extra follower on my thread and who should it be but lullaby88? I say to myself "I should check out her thread, tis only fair" only to see:

 

Life Quest: Be an active forum member. (+5 CHA) (+3 CHA)

This is to help me be a better communicator. I tend to stalk fellow rebels without leaving comments and supporting them. I can't want support without giving it. (Need to figure out how to grade this still.)

 

I could use some help on the attribute points, I think this is set up decently enough. ^.^ If not, let me know. I lowered some of my attribute points. I believe I went too high with 2 of them.

On the subject of squats, sitting back onto a chair is  good idea. Typically the reason someone can't get below parallel is hip mobility. We all squatted as children, but once we stop, we lose the ability as the muscles and tendons lock up.

Also, get used to the fact that mobility stretching/work tends to look highly inappropriate.

 

Another thing to do is what they do in that video at 1:30. it will help you open up your hips. Streeeeetch. 

 

Keep it up! Don't feel embarrassed about working out. You're making your life better and if they can't handle watching you kick your own butt, they can figure out how to deal somewhere else.

 

I get picked on at work all the time because of the amount of veggies I eat, and that when I'm on a conference call I'll do dips off the side of my desk. I've learned to embrace it by smiling as they walk by.

Hehe you caught me red handed. ^.^ I've gotten a bit better but need some work in this area.

I live with 4 guys plus my husband. The inappropriate things get turned into jokes so easily.

I tend to keep things to myself a lot and like to hide. That's why exercising in the open makes me feel embarrassed. Though I used to be able to give myself the courage needed to start a task but since I've moved, I lost that ability. Trying to get it back now.

It was a good Monday. Was in training again...Though now I shouldn't have to be trained for a while. *does happy dance* There's only so much I can deal with. It was also pouring down rain yesterday. Like, for the whole day. Didn't get a walk in and the hubby and I hung out and watched Grimm while the house was occupied by roommates and guests/neighbors. 

 

Today's alright. Walked but ate a bit of junk food. I didn't bring enough food for lunch today (just a salad with nothing special). I was doomed from the get go and I knew it but with nothing else in my fridge that I could bring, I was stuck. Oh, well. It's just one day.

 

I need to get a better grip on what I eat. I've gotten better with my bored eating. The kind where I just wander around my kitchen, opening the fridge and cabinets looking to eat somewhere without being hungry. Because why not? >.< Still eating fast food in the form of pizza, like last night. Though my kitchen was being used by my neighbor/guest as she made homemade apple sauce for her food truck/trailer.

 

I'll post my week 3 update either this evening or tomorrow mid-morning. Here's to a better week 4!!

I finally got in 2 BWW!!!! That's excited news. Well, for me it is. Now, the goal is to keep that for the next 3 weeks. 

 

I missed a tracking day again. Happened Saturday but I also didn't eat that much. Just melon and guacamole and chips. I added it in on Monday. 

 

Got my new veggie in. Parsnips! Now just have to figure out one for week 4.

 

Missed out on 1 walk. Though I did have 2 all day training classes plus it rained two days. Sooo..I'm not stressing. I've been keeping the habit of walking during my break and am enjoying it so far. Just have to keep it up. 

 

After a bad Week 2, Week 3 is a lot better in my mind. Even if my numbers are the almost the same (not BWW!). But I was in a much better mood and felt like I got a bit more done. So that's good. :)

 

Let's kick Week 4's ass!! ;P

My new vegetable was eggplant and I made it last night. :D Using the recipe that Clarys shared here for Mini Quest 4. Ratatouille!!! I've honestly wanted to make Ratatouille since I saw the movie but never had the guts to try it. Soo...since I stumbled across it yesterday and realized it called for a vegetable that I've never used before (Eggplant), I decided that was what I was going to make for dinner. There was plenty of leftovers. The husband loved it and even requested that I used the leftovers to make a pasta sauce for dinner tonight.

 

The other awesome thing about this recipe was that I used the diced tomatoes from our garden that I canned a few months back. So it was a good evening last night.

Thanks! It happens more often nowadays because I haven't been making as much leftovers as I used to. Mainly due to the fact that the microwaves at home don't work. Yes, microwaves. There are two broken microwaves sitting in my dining room, among other junk. >.<

 

I totally know the feeling of not wanting people to see you exercise. We have lived with different people off and on and even this last year we had Dans dad and a friend living with us. I have never had parsnips. I really should try them. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

Parsnips are good and so versatile. You can bake, roast, fry, or mash them. :) Enjoy!

I made all my numbers this week!! So that feels awesome. Though the BWWs I got in this week were small, I at least did it twice. *mini happy dance*  :D

 

I also completed the mini quest for week 4. Posted a recipe and made a recipe that I found there. Easiest way to complete my second goal of a new vegetable too. Eggplant!  ^_^ Used it in Ratatouille, which then became pasta sauce. It tasted good to me and passed the husband "let's do this again" test. 

 

Still not sure how I'm grading my life quest but I know I didn't do well with it this week. Kind of went back into old habits.  :unsure:

Adding the walking during first work break has been really nice. Taking a 20 minute walk around my facility has been helping my work stress cool down a bit. I still grip and have frustrations towards one of my immediate co-workers (and I doubt that will change) but taking a break from her is nice. I am definitely planning to keep the walking up. Though I know once summer hits, it's going to be harder to do. Will need to finally purchase a replacement pair of sunglasses. It's only been 2 years since I misplaced my last pair. >_<

 

For almost a week now, my phone has been acting weird. It will randomly freeze when I have an app open and turn the back light off. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it doesn't. Because of this, I haven't been using it as much. Which means no reviewing of posts while at home, only at work. That's kind of what has been making my life quest pretty lame. That and I haven't felt very encouraging recently.

 

Hope this gets better sooner rather than later but I'm sure I'll have to wait until at least May before I'll be able to relax better in my house.

 

Overall, decent start to my week 5. :)

Umm...that depends on how you look at it, I guess. I got in 6 walks this week. Would have had 7 but I wasn't feeling present yesterday. Body was there, mind was a bit foggy. My food tracking and eating was awful. I missed 3 days of completed tracking. I also barely ate this weekend. But I did spend quality time with the husband and explored a Florida beach with him. Also, finished a book. I haven't done a BWW yet (I say yet, because today is technically my last day of week 5). I also haven't cooked with a new vegetable this week. Then again, I've barely cooked this week. What with Publix's deli Wednesday, pizza Friday, out to dinner for drinks Saturday, and snack food Sunday. 

 

So part of me wants to say it was a good week based on having fun and enjoying my husband's company. At the same time, I didn't do well this week for my challenge.

Yay for the walks and the quality time with your husband! :triumphant:

 

If it's any consolation: I'm struggling more and more with my eating habits these past days weeks, too. :(

But that's why we're here - to work on it. Right? RIGHT??? :)

Soo...it was an "ehh..." week. Walked a lot, so that's good. However, I didn't do a workout. Ended up having to figure out tax crap last night. >.< It's never ending, it seems. I slipped up on food tracking but also didn't eat much this weekend. So..*shrugs* I did get my new veggie in! I'm running low of choices at my produce stand. ^_^ That's part of the problem. lol. 

Vegetable of the Week

Week 5: Rutabaga -  Soo I barely got this one in. So last night I made mashed potatoes and rutabaga. You can just make mashed rutabaga but I decided to mix it with some potatoes since I wasn't sure how it would taste. It tastes kind of like sweet potatoes but with less carbs. ^_^ It also doesn't mash as easily but you don't even notice any chunks. You also need less milk. Will definitely do this again. Probably roast it instead of mash.

Soo....it's the end of the challenge and it's time for some points and thoughts! ;) I had my ups and downs with this challenge but overall I feel successful.

 

I really dislike tracking my food. It's easy-ish but trying to understand the portion I'm eating is what is difficult. Or how much of the onion/pepper/whatever vegetable I cooked I actually ate. So I guessed a lot of the time. I plan on tackling my eating in a different matter for next challenge. Goal 1: B (+2.25 WIS)

 

The new veggie bit was fun. Though I ran out of new vegetables to cook. Well, at least though that are available at my produce stand. I don't like shopping for produce in grocery stores. Then again, I get a discount at the produce stand and not the grocery store. ^_^Goal 2: B (+1.5 CON)

 

The walking goal was easy and fun. Definitively enjoyed walking during the work day. It was fun and helped me feel better through the rest of my day. I did some body weight workouts. Didn't reach the 'goal' but I did almost get one a week. Which is definitively a plus. Goal 3: B (+0.5 STR & +1 STA)

 

I slacked quite a bit on my life quest. I followed more people and actually responded to certain posts and topics but towards the end, I was very inactive on this forum. I barely updated my thread, let alone encouraged others to do better. So I'm only going to give myself +1 CHA mainly because I tried and did a lot better at replying to posts then I did in my previous challenge. That's a plus in my book. 

 

I already know how certain things that will carry over to my next challenge and how I want my challenges to go from here on out. I understand why I started slacking off a bit. Part of which was pushing myself to exercise when I've never been that active to begin with. I will have a better plan for this in the up and coming challenge.
