Hi guys!

 

I've been a big fan of NF since someone mentioned the site on Imgur, and since then I've recommended NF to dozens who were looking for a place to get started on their journey "to a better 'them'". After seeing a friend of mine jump right into one of your six-week challenges, I decided I should join in on the fun!

 

Quick introduction: I'm an Aussie, I write, play games, mentor a kid and various other random things in my spare time. I recently started training in freestyle wrestling, Brazilian Jiujitsu and MMA; I formerly trained in Japanese jujutsu, gymnastics and asc. football. I also play mil-sim (military simulation) laser-tag! Woo! Oh, and I love Linux and BSD Unix. Can't forget that.

 

My friend got me into bodybuilding workouts roughly one year ago, but I quickly realized that stuff was NOT getting me anywhere when I was on the mat. I didn't feel strong and I didn't think it was helping with my pre-existing weaknesses; worse, training 5-6 days a week for 2+ hours was just ridiculous. I took the extreme step of ditching my current 24/7 gym (no squat cage), telling my friends goodbye for now and switched to a gym with olympic barbells and cages so I could start doing Stronglifts 5x5 and targeting my weaknesses. Powerlifting is some fun stuff!

 

Things are still tough. I'm trying to do StrongLifts 5x5, Couch-To-5K, some Olympic weightlifting and some beginner gymnastic stuff. On top of trying not to suck when I go to my sports, it's pretty tough, so I've decided to distil my exercise and focus on bringing each of my weaknesses up to par first! And that's why I'm here.

 

It's super hard to eat enough and keep at the mobility drills, etc, so I decided to come here for some advice, accountability and to find some kindred spirits.

 

Tails is awesome.

Solo shot first.

Fluttershy is best pony.

Deadlift is friggin' awesome.
