I’m late, but I’m here. Vacation has been tough on me both physically and emotionally. I could use another one right now. No theme this time around.. This challenge I will be healing, exploring and having fun. It will be about moving, taking care of myself and incorporating movement as a bigger part of my day. My arms are still not great, but I've started putting some weight on them. I need to be careful with my knee too, as I stretched something in there. It’s not serious, but I need to take it easy for a couple of days. I just got back today, so I'll start this thing tomorrow. I might get something in for week 1. :)

 

#1 - Diet and fat loss.
Clean up my act and get below 70 kg. End of last challenge I was at 72 kg. I don't know post-vacation weight. I'm dreading the kind of damage the vacation has done to my progress.. I will try to move more and more away from animal products and find good vegan recipes that  don’t require too much time or special ingredients.

 

#2 - Love and be happy.
Show people I care about that I appreciate them. Speak my mind and be honest and open about my feelings. This is hard to track, but I might try and post an appreciation a day.

 

#3 - Workout three times a week.
I don't know what this will be yet. I'm going to a pole dancing class and a climbing class. We'll see if more of this will happen.

#4 - MOVE
Explore a new movement for at least 6 days a week. I’m doing GMB’s MV again AND I just went and bought a cruiser board. I will practice this for at least 10 minutes a day, 6 days a week.

Hello, Urzie. Better late than never, huh? What is a cruiser board? 

Yes! I was going to do this challenge all along, but I was "stuck" in Hawaii with no internet. A cruiser board is one of these babies:

Love the movement goals! Pole and climbing, awesome! Hope you like it. :)

 

How was the holiday?? 

So do I! :) I'm VERY excited about the pole. I know I love it, I've had one session before.. :)

 

Vacation was very good. A lot of play, a lot of sun, a lot of love, much good food, too much sugars and alcohols and not enough sleep..

 

Glad you are back. Nice simple but effective challenge.

Yeah.. I'll see what will happen with that. There's no rules to it really.. But it's I think maybe the toughest one of the bunch..

Week one wrap up.


Week have been absolute shit when it comes to diet. But since I basically spent Thursday to Saturday on a plane or an airport, I don't think I did too poorly. 

 

Workouts week one was one day of hiking at different locations on Oahu and two days of surfing. Surfing is the most fun ever! And is the reason I got the board (and how I hurt my knee). My balance was kind of shit and I need to work on that so I can rock the waters next time I have the chance. Riding the cruiser board is going great. It's a lot of fun, and is somewhat of a workout on it's own. 

 

I'm not doing an appreciation for yesterday. It's not that I didn't appreciate anything yesterday, but I didn't tell the person about it. I guess this is going to be a week two an onward thing... 

 

For movement I've done what little I've could while on vacation. I've had some fun in the parks, done cartwheels on the beach and egg stands and froggers in the hotel hallway. Yesterday I spent most of the night on the floor since the couch is evil. I did egg stands, practiced crow pose, attempted a bridge, did a lot of stretches and did two days worth of MV training. I didn't move EVERY day, but I'm going to count my movement yesterday as two days. I did move on my plane days as well, doing squats, climbing in the seat and stretching in the aisles. So..Success!

Yesterdays movement consisted of GMB MV.  I was seated on the floor all night.. but that's about all there was to it.

So.. I'm sick. It's the dreaded AC sickness I think.. Hours on hours with lousy plane air can really ruin you. I left work early yesterday, and I'm taking a sickday today. 

 

Yesterday I didn't do a damn thing all day. I was stationed on the couch. I didn't cruise or move or anything. I slept a bit. As a result I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night. I had to get up today to go check my eyesight after my surgery in November. It went great. :) And I've been outside. There's sun. Sun is good. :)

I'm struggling a bit emotionally these days as I'm working through some crap that I really can't talk to anyone about.. At least in detail... It's making it very difficult to focus on the appreciation.. I guess yesterday I appreciated my husband taking care of me and letting me be a ball of disgusting sick all day long.

Sorry to hear that you're sick and that you're struggling. Remember that even if you don't want to talk about it here you're always welcome to rant/vent.

 

Hope the sun will cheer you up and that you get better soon!

There might be a rant coming. Maybe. Right now the energy for one just isn't present.

I'm so tired.. For the past three weeks I've had maybe 3-4 nights of more than 5 hours sleep. None of those have been without waking up in the middle of the night.Yesterday I woke up at 3 am and attempted to sleep until 6 am, with no luck.. I woke up at 5:30 this morning. I'm still sick.. I'm working on an assignment for school that's due on Thursday and I doubt I'll be done with it in time.. I didn't move or cruise yesterday. I don't think I'll meet any but the workout goal this week. We did a raw, vegan dinner yesterday. It was very good and very satisfying. I've had bad sugars every day this week. I just don't have the energy to resist. I'll try harder next week.. Today is pole dance. It should be fun. :)

 
I probably shouldn't share this.. But why the hell not..

One of the things I've been struggling with is that I've suspected I've been pregnant. This just got confirmed this morning. Last night I told my husband I didn't think I wanted kids at all. I know.. Bad timing.. Really bad.. When I found out this morning.. I cried. When I told him (over google hangouts, because he asked..) he said "oh.. :-)" .. I haven't dealt with any of this yet, because work, and I really don't know what to do... Feels off! Smile on!

 
I squatted with tea this morning. It was a good tea. It said "More hugging - less tugging". I think it's right. We need more hugs in the world.

Yes, it will all be okay. It's just getting to the okay again that's going to suck. 

 

Sending hugs your way. I like the squatting with tea idea. Provided of course, I don't lose my balance and spill my tea all over my self ;)

The trick is to not pick up your tea until you're balanced. Or, just wait until your tea gets sort of cold. ;)

Week 2 wrap up

 

Week 2 sucked. I did poorly on diet, movement and cruising. I have to try and change that this week.. 

 

So.. Pole dance. 

Pole dance is really really really really a lot of fun. And I want to start doing that. I just have to wait until I get my crap sorted out.. We did headstands, shoulder rolls - backwards and forwards, bridges, handstands and sooooo many other fun things. I'm counting some of that as moving. I did hold a crow pose for about 1 second, which is awesome and a first. Some of the face plant fear is gone. :)

 

I decided on Friday I'm not going to keep the baby.. The decision is right.. There's no doubt about it. I talked to my husband about it. We had a loooong talk.. He had been drinking a little bit and the talk turned into a conversation about everything that was wrong with me and what I wanted in life. This weekend have really been the worst. We've barely talked since Friday. Barely touched. We haven't had breakfast together, which is something we do almost every day. We didn't even have dinner on Saturday. Everything is awkward.. He's being an ass.. It's tough.. I don't really have anyone to talk to about this, because all friends are either pregnant, have a little one or trying to get pregnant.. It sucks.. Judgement all around. This must be the best every birthday present someone can give their husband for their 30th birthday..

I hope that you and your husband can continue to talk and work through this.I I realize I do not know your circumstances but, I am a Christian, and believe that the life inside you is from God, so I hope that somehow,despite your circumstances, you will be able to keep this baby.

We'll manage.. If we don't, then it wasn't meant to be...

I don't really believe circumstances matter, Elastigirl. No one put those cells together other than me and my husband. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of, and raising a child. Both emotionally and financially. But I believe every child has the right to be wanted. And that is what matters to me.

Yesterday was not a big day of excitement. Sickness is slowly going away.

 

I did not move.

I did not cruise because of storm (and essay).

I did not workout. 

I ate poorly. 

I spent all night writing 400 crappy words on my essay that's due on Thursday. Who knew cattle and soy production in Brazil would be so difficult to write about?

I feel miserable.

I am sorry about this whole situation and it's timing, and also sorry I'm not sure what to say :( I'm sure the awkwardness will disappear though, once a few days have past and doesn't seem so recent :)
