Curl Bros took over rack. What to do instead of squats?

You nancy boy assassins with your mobility and fancy words like "force" and "specificity." We meatheads define how strong we are by what we can lift. Take your science, and your quads, and go do some crazy plyo planche pistol pullups.

*twitch, twitch*

so much wrong with that sentence...

Mmmm... puppy burrito...

Why does this sound kinda sexy?

*snort*

Sweetie...everything cline does is sexy

The same reason a puppy burrito sounds delicious.

Don't forget the shredded cheese.

Side note: I now want to see a comparison of Waldo's and El Ex's quads.

....only in a fitness forum can a dude say that and it not be questioned.

Oof... ok... that's my cue to abandon this thread and never come back.

NO!  Don't go!  It's just getting interesting - see below

The puppy needs to eat bacon before getting out in the bacon stuffed burrito... Bacon wrapped, bacon stuffed puppy burrito. You're welcome.

YES!

Or we could go with a turducken style puppy burrito - beef stuffed puppy wrapped in bacon.  cowpuppypig in a blanket.

*just stares as the thread explodes, backs away slowly*

So... I'm pretty sure i'm going to be clearer next time, lest I blow up nerd fitness again... Sorry.

Having been a few days since the original post, i dont' recall the exact situation 100%, so i'm going to ignore it and ask a more relevant question.

I know machines = kinda bad becuase of stabilizer muscles not being used as much, but there's two machines that look like sleds in my gym.  One has your feet below you and one above you at a 45 degree angle.  Are these acceptable alternatives to a barbell squat, or are there specific reasons to use them?

I don't have an answer for squat alternatives, but at my Globo-Gym I use a bench press to squat at.  No safety bars and I have to unrack the bar around the midpoint of my range of motion, but I'm using light weights (less than 135#).  Is that a possibility?
