- MAIN - Survive & thrive!

->Do what I have to and then do some more. 4/4 exercise a week.

 

I usually do one group lesson on Wednesdays (either bootcamp or bodypump) and work out in the gym 1-2 times a week by myself. I'm currently squatting 45 kgs, my weight is around 62 kgs. I wonder if I can get up to bodyweight during this challenge :) (Not my main goal by any means, but it would be great). The amount of exercise is what's important here, though. One of four workouts can be a simple longish walk.

-> More time in the evenings… Do not go to bed before 10 pm 6 days a week.

(Use extra time for reading, cooking/baking, colouring, playing music)

 

Ah, I love me some sleep. Meds MIGHT be playing into this, but I prefer to sleep for ridiculous amounts of time. Especially if I'm not feeling well (mentally) or if I'm simply very.bored. I'm known to go to bed at 8 pm (or even earlier at times) just because I don't feel like doing anything else. I rarely get up before 7, most days 8-ish. This means that not going to bed before 10 pm (which means I can get ready at around 9.30) should still mean plenty of hours of sleep. I just want to try :) Naps in the afternoon are allowed, however.

-> Get rid of the sugar.

 

(Yes, this has crept in again. Tbh I can’t be bothered about avoiding grains right now, but I know I can (and like) going without sugar. Let’s re-form that habit! Exceptions: Birthdays of family members (Nephew, my dad).

-> Create a spreadsheet with LOTS of ideas for the summer holidays.

 

I'm going to get you guys involved :D As mentioned in the bedtime-goal - I get bored easily. When I do I feel miserable. Summer holidays... (6-7 weeks... teacher-stuff ;)) TERRIFY me. (Seriously). Obviously I'm looking forward to being able to do my own thing... but I need a bit more planning than just 'let's do what I feel like during the holidays'. So this challenge I want to create a list of things to do/try/achieve during summer. Then next challenge I'll make an actual schedule (keeping 2-3 days a week 'off' and having a general idea of what I'd like to do when.). This should make this summer a lot easier and better than ... ever :D

Awesome stuff :D 

 

How do you get rid of sugar? it's something I've been thinking about.. and then I see the biscuits on the table at work...

 

And let us know what kinds of things you like doing and I'm sure we can throw some ideas for summer holidays at you :D

Great goals! I will help the brainstorming for fun things to do this summer! That alone will be fun! Anticipation of fun summer times yay! I can relate to the sleeping thing. I have it at night like you, but also throughout the day if I have a lot of work to do that I really don't want to do. I get tired (it might be that I'm bored and I'm convincing myself I'm tired) so I take a nap. I love napping. I'm such a cat in that aspect :P Anyway, good on you for choosing not to sleep through the weeks! :D

That'd be great :) 

 

They took out my last remaining wisdoom tooth yesterday :) (Ok, that's more like ':(', but at least it was the last one!). Was a lot more difficult than the others (lots of drilling, pulling etc. etc. And then the dentist saying 'that's a rather stubborn root' - great). Yesterday was PAINFUL, but today seems fine. Just no exercise allowed just yet. But that's ok, challenge starts on Monday ;) 

 

The group lesson I did last Wednesday seemed to make my back BETTER! (During it didn't bother me at all, now it's sometimes annoying but nowhere near what it was). Still, appointment with physical therapist on Thursday, because I want to know what exactly is wrong and how to take care of it. Bleh.

 

Anyway, enjoy your weekend and get ready for Monday!!!

Ahhh getting rid of all those wisdom teeth must be such a relief.. I'm kind of jealous! My next dentist appointment is during this challenge ... already not looking forward to it :/

 

It is! And while yesterday was painful, today's been fine so far. I'm eating solid foods again :D Just sneezing and yawning and opening my mouth too far hurts, but other than that? Doing great! Good luck at the dentist... 

 

Oooh, holiday goals! Totally jealous of the 6-7 weeks off you get being a teacher, but totally not jealous of how you have to spend the rest of your time! We need to make sure you have a great summer break!

 

Holiday goals *does silly dance*. Tbh so far I'm fine with the teaching and keeping (most of) my work at work. But I don't have a lot of extra tasks just yet (mentoring students etc.) as I'm in my first year of teaching. So... it might get worse. 

 

Argh, I turned into a baby for three days after getting my two (!!) wisdom teeth out. Heal fast.

 

Thanks. It seems fine today. Tomorrow is supposedly the worst day swelling-wise, so we'll see. But high hopes so far for a speedy recovery!

You people are so beastly!!! I was out of commision for over a WEEK in bed with my wisdom teeth. Ya'll are like "Whatevs, next day I'm out deadlifting 800 pounds. Like.A.Boss."

Heh, well to be honest, today is worse than yesterday :P So I'm going to take some paracetamol before going to the market. And only one was taken out this time, that definitely helps ;) 

 

Yesterday in bed before going to sleep I really realised that, yes, I'm going to cut out refined sugar again. :( It made me a bit sad. I guess I'm back to being addicted again, so it might be kind of difficult. A bit ashamed to say, but I'm going to enjoy some proper not-good-for-the-Pretzle sweet stuff this weekend. And hopefully that'll be the last for a long, long time (if not forever).

It´s almost challenge time!!!

 

(Please add some suggestions to the spreadsheet in my signature - that'd be awesome!)

 

I've had some sugar today, really enjoyed it. Tomorrow is the start of the challenge, no refined sugar for 6 weeks (- 2 or 3 birthdays). I'll take my gym gear and work out if at all possible. :) I'll probably get to work on my squats.

It's day 1, 10.51. 

 

I've already been tempted to eat sugar (Toblerone in the teamroom...) but I resisted! :D Go me! I'm going to see if I can get some mini-challenge practice during gym-time today, too. 

 

Can you tell I'm excited about this challenge? No?!?! Well - I AM! :D

! Woot

 

Group lesson today (body pump) and I got invited. Felt like doing it, so joined in. More songs this time, we did some lunges and push-ups as well in addition to what I had done in my first lesson and it was pretty fun overall. Didn't feel too difficult but... Just got home and my back is acting up again. Boo on that.

 

Anyway: 1/4 exercise for this week.

Sugar count: 0 this week (Second-first-day without sugar survived!). 

 

Now I'll just have to stay up until 10 pm in order to get my daily goals. Should be fine :)
