Nuala just wanna have fun

It's now spring, there is finally some light
Bikini season is almost in sight
But I don't want to think of diet right now
Cuz I want to have fun
Oh I just want to have fun

I see some talking of reps and sets
Of cutting, bulking, deload and proteins
Oh I'm certain you'll have some outstanding results
But I want to have fun
Oh I just want to have...

That's all I really want!
Some fun
Not just a single workout routine done
I just want to have fun
Oh I just want to have fun

Some gals spend their life on a treadmill
While on facebook to tell the rest of the world
I want to be the one who can train in the sun
Oh I just want to have fun
Oh I just want to have...

That's all I really want!
Some fun
Not just a single workout routine done
I just want to have fun
Oh I just want to have fun.

Chorus:
She wants to have fun,
She wants to have fun

That's it. It's spring, it's sunny outside, I don't wanna train, I just want to try new stuff and have fun. I will jump on the white lines when crossing the street because of the crocodiles, I will balance on the side of the pavement because of the precipice, the floor is lava, working is boring and I don't like boring! For this challenge, I spared no adventures, and went down to the basement secret cave full of dinosaurs where was hidden a cardboard box time machine

And I'm going back to the best years ever because travels makes us young so time travel makes us Forever young!

(yes, I just really wanted to post this song too)

Let's go back in time!

Nuala the mad scientist, or Doctor Nualastein's creature

The alien/monster doll seen above was one of my favourite toy EVER! I'm very grateful to my mother that she bought me toys according to my taste and not toys according to my gender. The fate of all my sister's Barbie dolls may have warned her that buying me some would be a waste of money, dolls were indeed decapitated, dissected or shaved for, obviously, scientific purpose. (Dolls, how do they work?!?). I had 2 labs, the "under the stairs lab" when I was small where I was playing with the Anatomie 2000 model

anatomie-2000-926698374_ML.jpg

and when I was older a new lab under the roof where the previously mentioned dolls were used for scientific purpose or even made in some chimera. Nightmare fuel for every pink loving little girl, but.. SCIENCE!

The alien was a Christmas gift, it was sold with some deliciously gooey slime and I remember that it glowed in the dark. That evening we went to look at the fireworks my father made together and the day after was dissection time :D I remember being very happy that the alien had a band aid to keep the internal organs inside his belly. Aliens have all the cool stuff. So you can guess I was a destroyer scientist to-be  when I was a child and that everything had to be destroyed un-build for educational purpose.

I also was jealous. My best friend was a only child and thus had all the best toys (in my eyes of course). And even now, I'm still a bit envious of what other people have. So when I saw that Apfelstrudy made her own hoop and even received one! I was so super mega jealous, like super! But now I'm a grown-up (thee hee) so I can buy stuff myself :P

So in a very grown up way (I avoided the crocodiles by walking on the white lines only 8 times!) I went to the bazaar and bough some hoop.

Of course they are kid size and apparently I am not... (the nerve!) So, with my new best friend that I met when I made some parallettes, the hacksaw, I decided to make a small... experiment with 2 of the hoops.

The weather was definitely not aware of the experience because it was still sunny and warm, whereas some storm and lightening would have been adequate. Weather these days.... I won't describe you the operation. It involved separated limbs (not mine), hacksaw and merging what should not be merged. Now, I can present you, my creation, my creature! The Nualastein yellow and circle-ish monster!

Of course my monster has some scars.. can't help it, right.

Hey..  Don't diss the Barbie dolls.  They made excellent hostages when my brother and I were playing with fun toys, like Transformers or Star Wars stuff.  ;)

I love the DIY hoop.  Let me know how it works, since I'm apparently too cheap to buy any of the real hoops on amazon without being sure that I'll enjoy it first.

Well, it's working pretty well and I have enough spare hoop to make a second adult size hoop. That would make one hoop for 4.50€ pretty reasonable. Maybe it is a bit light, I may add some tape to add some weight.

By the way, why do I feel like my butt will have some DOMS tomorrow?

Mine made terrible hostages. They were all very dead and headless. :P

These hoops are amazing! Frankenstien's toy chest.

Did you know that Barbie's make-up could be removed with nail varnish remover? Well actually all her face could be removed with that. What's the best, be-headed Barbies or no-face barbies... :D

Definitely, we should never have stopped! Especially when most of the toys were some "go outside and burn all the sugar you just ate" toys. I remember having the infamous "Jump jumper":

This Saturnesque toy was but a huge ball squeezed in a plastic ring. You were supposed to hold the ball between your feet and jump. Truth to be said, it was not bouncing a lot, you had to do all the work! Of course, it was not really stable and you could expect a lot of falls, bruises and "Mom, I hurt myself can I have some cake? :'( ". It looked so cool on the ads!  Kids were jumping, dancing, jumping rope with it!?! I have no idea for how long these kids had to train, the real truth is: jumping with that thing 3 times without falling was already a miracle. It was even forbidden at one point in schools. Too many accidents

[Edit]

The lack of 80' music is bothering, especially because when the Jump jumper was out the music hit in France was "Joe le taxi" by Vanessa Paradis

My sister just loved this song. It was looping for days and days until my father, fed up, paid me to steal her disk

The Nualastein monster is alive and well! I can waist hooping with no problem so now my aim is this!
