Thanks! This week did turn out better than I expected, but even a so-so week would have been worth it for how awesome the weekend was :)

Day Eight, 4/21/14:

Monday I fasted to fight some of that Nerdster bulk, lol. Not much to report - I had an avocado around noon and went to bed around 8 PM, which is what I normally do on a fast day.

 

Day Nine, 4/22/14:

Yesterday was a nice day. I woke up early and did ten minutes on my stationary bike, and had a nice breakfast of pineapple chicken leftovers. Work was crazy and I had to work through lunch, so when birthday cake came out around 3 PM I went for it! I stopped for a 25 minute walk at the park on the way home .... THEN I got home and an Easter basket had been delivered, full of Reece's Eggs - my greatest weakness, nooooooooo!! Here is where I made the mistake. I don't think it was all bad eating the cake - but eating the cake then became the reason to eat 3 mini Reece's Eggs and a handful of jellybeans. Then I was so convinced the day was destroyed I had a gin and water with dinner, which broke my side challenge. Why are these Tuesdays becoming my weakness?! I need to learn not to let one bad decision turn into five. Either way, I made a yummy dinner - chicken and pepperoni with zoodles in a cheesey marinara:

The crazy part is, after all of that, I lost almost two pounds overnight last night. Body ..... WTF?!?!

 

Anywho, I have done some thinking. I am glad to be making discoveries about the balancing act that will help me maintain my new habits and fitnessiness. I just think I picked the wrong time to do that - this will be a great part of my journey when I get to a place of maintenance, but for now my goal is weight loss and I still have 20 lbs to lose. So I have made the impromptu decision to do what works for me - I'll be doing a Whole25 to prepare for an up-coming trip home in May. I want to make sure I'm even fitter than the last time they saw me :)

 

New Diet Rules:

Whole25 from 4/23/14 - 5/17/14

Only Non-W30 Food Allowed: Up to one instance of cheese each day (cheese on burger patty, sprinkled on salad, etc)

 

It starts today!

Your challenge plan is amazing - love the pyramids.  Overall looks like its going well - Hoo Ray for the epic NF meet ups and your great number of hours walking.

I love the way that you set up your challenge. Neat triangles. Specific and organized, easy to keep track of. :)

Runkeeper is inconsistent for me every once in awhile too! I think it has something to do with the GPS. Every so often it'll jump for a few seconds and tell me I'm running like 18mph. Runkeeper thinks I'm an athlete. :tongue:

 

It looks like you're absolutely killing it so far! I'm really impressed with your cooking. Congrats on getting rid of that water weight. I know that feeling all too well. It only gets tougher from here, but it shouldn't be a problem for you. You're a freaking beast!

Thanks KC! Maybe not as epic as being on a boat near Mexico but it has definitely been a good time. I promise to keep the pics coming!!

Easy to keep track of - that is the goal here! I like checking things off my list :) My Runkeeper seems to have a hard time syncing my activities - once my all-time total actually went down after a walk? And it can never keep up with my weekly totals. Yesterday it also reset all my PBs....

 

Zoodles! I think I ate zoodles on the other day too. We are twins!!!!!

 

Your salad with all the yummy feta, salami and tomatoes looks amazing. Keep up the good food porn please!

 

Zoodles are so yummy. I saw a julienne peeler over at Chammy's and now I basically have to have one.. for now I just use my mandoline. More pictures coming.. rightnow!

Day Ten, 4/23/14:

 

Feeling good :) First day of my little W30 redux. I had one of my very favorite lunches, iceburger and unseasoned sweet potato fries from Mooyah:

Busy, busy day at work as well, but I still got out for one walk before lunch (while I was still in fasted state) and I went to the park after work for another mile to get warmed up for the evening. That put me at 30 minutes total moving yesterday. I was thinking I would do my sprints but my right leg didn't seem to be getting "warm" - it was stiff. So I went home and tackled one of my bodyweight sessions instead; this routine was standing yoga from Melissa Bender (not exactly a bodyweight routine but my legs are still sore today! It was just for what I was in the mood) Here's the video:

 

 

After yoga I had turkey breast and rainbow carrots for dinner (in about a cup of olive oil):

After dinner my body was still asking for more, so I had some blackberries for dessert. That did the trick! :)

I'm sure it's not an original observation but "bender" is the perfect name for a yoga instructor.
