I was trying to make things simple and fun and lost my way, SSOOOOO back to the basics I go. Start fresh so to speak. Forget about the failure and start new at the beginning to find out what happened. No guilt, No beating myself up. Only looking to get better and look forward. Food: Keep a food journal WIS 5pts for writing every day 3pts for filling in later I will be dong this manaully - writing things down, with times that I eat and why/what I was feeling when I ate. I could try my fitness pal or something of the like, but they don't really add the "journaling" part so pen and paper it is for me Exercise: 3pts DEX for yoga/3pts STR for crossfit (.5 each week of doing 3 each)Yoga 3/week in the morning before work - I tried this last challenge and did pretty good for the first 4 weeks. I am NOT a morning person so this is difficult for me. But I really want to get into the habit of getting up and moving in the am. I have some pilates videos I might throw in also, but you get the point.Crossfit 3/week - would prefer more but schedule doesn't always work with it. I will allow myself to go to class or do a crossfit style work out at home - see Exercise #2Disclaimer - might allow myself only 2 crossfit workouts the week of May 10 before Murph I don't want to go to class Friday night and be sore Saturday morning - will depend on the workout and how I feel..Exercise #2: 2pts CHA - 1pt for prep work and 1 pt for doing MurphWe are doing "Murph" in crossfit on May 10 to raise money for MS.I want to work on my running, pushups, squats untill then at home - this will probably = my third crossfit workout each week untill then.oh! I was going to have a rest day today seeing as I've worked out everyday since Thurs, but then I looked at the workout tonight for crossfit and it is "Isabelle" which is 30 snatch at 95lbs (for girls) and I really want to do it, because I can really use the work on my snatch - so I'm going!I'm considering adding a life goal still, but every time I think one up, I think oh yeah!? you want me to do something? Just try and make me! I'm not gonna do it. Nah uh! Most important time to hang in there. The big advantage you have is that you know you don't want to give up. With that, you can keep going. What about a life goal to have some fun? She also has inner thigh ones, and her ab workouts are killer!I have those tantrums to, but you know, gotta do what you gotta do. I like to think, "Do you look good naked? No? Then do those burpees!" Then do those burpees!"No internet at home.I have done 'Murph' before, the last time I did it I broke it up so I did1 mile run, 2 rounds of 50 pullups, 100 pushups and 150 squats, 1 mile run (with some walking ofcourse) in 64:25. I'm thinking I might do the same and try to beat my time. I'm doing better with my pushups now though so they are harder. The rest would be the same. So It's snowing today!!!! It's easy to get bogged down with the numbers and the planning and forget about the real reason for all the hard work. Being healthier makes you feel happier! Went to crossfit last night and pukie the clown visited me (you can google him, its a crossfit thing)Threw up twice in my mouth during the workout last night, they capped us at 30minutes. I would have like to finish but seeing as I was already pukie didn't think it was a good idead - sore all over todayhad an orange and popcorn for dinner last night - my stomach couldn't handle much else - here's hoping it was really just the workout and I'm not getting the flu that is going around.Beautiful cold sunny morning today- got up and did some yoga. I tried to whine and complain and talk myself out of it cause I was sore, but figured it would be really good to stretch, so I did a gentle back bends video, nothing strenuous- so I won that tantrum!!! Also I know if I put my alarm across the room, I would ignore it for a long time then get up turn it off and go back to bed. Well ok sometimes when I'm lying in bed dozing I do, but it's usually just really messed up, like so messed up and doesn't make any sense so it's funny. I've only ever had 1 nightmare in my entire life. So yesterday was a crappy day at work and I was super frustrated, so I ate crap. Pizza, chocolate, graham crackers and popcorn - blah! Feel like crap today because of it, but didn't want to stop myself. I even went to the store to buy chips, but they didn't have any on sale so I didn't buy any.I'm realizing also that when I eat before bed, I wake up hungry in the morning - seems like it should be the other way around but whatever. Didn't get up for yoga this morning, didn't want to get up at all. But tomorrow is the holiday so I plan to get up and do yoga before I go to church to get my third in for the week.I have grocery shopping to do tonight and I'm still a little sore from Tuesday, but I'm planning to do a quick work out of pushups and squats for my Murph prep. I'm thinking the same thing - there's no nutrients so you're body's needing more - happens in general, just worse over night maybe? Weekly updateFood journal - wrote everyday, what I ate, what I was feeling when I ate and wrote down any cravings I was having. Still eating junk though, haven't changed that yetYoga 3/3crossfit 3/3didn't do any extra crossfit type workouts to work on Murph, but the workouts we have been doing in class have lots of cardio and squats/wall balls (psst! I think my trainer is trying to get us ready for Murph also) Didn't get up for yoga this morning - just didn't want to. Going to crossfit tonight.I think part of my problem with eating junk is that I just don't want to cook. So much so that it is overriding my need for good foods. I'll just grab whatever. Also so much so that I don't want to eat what I cook. I made a really yummy beef stew yesterday for my lunches and only ate a little bit because I just didn't want anymore. I'm hungry now and still don't want it. Just sitting at my desk being hungry because I'm too stubborn to eat the food I have. Thank God, I'm usually broke so I don't go out for fast food on my lunch. Ya, that's me today. Just can't stop it and don't know why. Some of it I think is cause of my workout last night, but seriously IT'S DRIVING ME CRAZY! Crossfit last night was 5 rounds for time of10 toes to bar (I did knees to chest)10 thrusters (I did 45lbs)20 walking lunges200m runI surprised myself by finishing at 22:00, I thought it was pretty good.Did my yoga this morning. And ate all my lunch. I was hoping eating a nice healthy stew would help get rid of the shaking, but it didn't. Part of the reason I think I didn't want it yesterday was because the meat was a little chewy still, but it wasn't today, so I think I'm going to put it back in the crockpot and cook it a bit more. Movie night at the library tonight, so no crossfit. Gotta plan a fun workout for Thurs to prepare for Murph. I feel like crap today and knew I would. The worst part is I would do it again if someone gave me some today. I hate this feeling of not caring and not doing what I know is going to help me and make me better. I'm in such weird mood, everything is I don't wanna, or because I can.You should work on your yard - I don't wannaYou should take some time to pray before work - I don't wannaYou shouldn't eat that - ya, but I canYou know that food isn't going to help you with your goals - I know, but I wanna - why? - because I can. I think I'm starting to get terribly overwhelmed with being single and doing all the things myself.The house needs to be cleaned, the dishes and laundry needs to be done. The yard needs some sprucing up. The deck needs fixing. The deck box I bought needs to be put together. The living room needs to be painted. My car needs new tires and body work done. blah blah blahAnd who's gonna do it? Me.....BUT I don't wanna!! I considered putting some of this in the challenge for life goals, but I knew I wouldn't do it anyways.This weekend I AM going to go over my food journal and go through my house inside and out and make a list of things that need to be worked on.....then maybe I can start with something small to get the feeling of accomplishment and work my way up to bigger projects. I even scheduled it in my phone to remind me to do it. Teros Posted April 24, 2014 Report Share Posted April 24, 2014 Sounds overwhelming. The only advice I can give is that the less decisions you have to make in a day- the easier it is to make them. Food is always a big obstacle for me so it's all made in advance. No thinking, no decisions, no stress. Maybe there's a way to organize the things that you feel you need to do- break them up over a 2 week period so that way it doesn't feel overwhelming? My mom is the same way where she just makes lists and has a mountain of things she wants to do- and then decided to do nothing because of not even knowing where to start. Link to comment

It usually just gets overwhelming once I reallize all the big jobs I have also. Then it's like do I do the big stuff and put off the regular stuff, making it a bigger job next week? Do I do the big stuff with the goal of doing the regular stuff after and risk talking myself out of it cause I'm tired? etc etc and nothing gets done.Lists usually work for me.... I've made lists before and gotten through most of it and then I stop or the rest I need my dad to help with. Then I decide to take a break and "rest" but then I don't really get started again. So now it's at a point where I need to make another list and stop making excuses and get started. do you hear that??? stop making excuses!!! otter905 Posted April 25, 2014 Author Report Share Posted April 25, 2014 So last night I decided to do some yard work instead of working out.I went home and put dinner in the oven, set the timer on my phone and went outside. I turned my "garden", and raked up the leaves and pulled out some of the Hostas (sp?) that are growing all over my yard. Then I went in stirred my dinner and put it back in and set my timer agian, then went out and swept off my deck and put all the leaves in a bag for the garbage collection today. Ate dinner and still had some sunlight left so started putting my deck box together. I say started because I was having some trouble getting it to click together and broke a nail and started to get frustrated so I walked away so I didn't throw a tantrum.2 good things about this. 1 I feel like I got something done/started, 2 I only have a hand shovel so I squatted while doing all the digging so I technically got a workout in and worked on building strength for Murph. So much so that it is overriding my need for good foods. I'll just grab whatever. Also so much so that I don't want to eat what I cook. I made a really yummy beef stew yesterday for my lunches and only ate a little bit because I just didn't want anymore. I'm hungry now and still don't want it. Just sitting at my desk being hungry because I'm too stubborn to eat the food I have. Thank God, I'm usually broke so I don't go out for fast food on my lunch. It's either eat it or starve!!!! Tantrums or no tantrums if you just don't have the money you can't do it.Updating the points for my challenge finally - see above.Are you reading my journal, or what?!I even so much as get nauseous just thinking about eating sometimes. I walk into the kitchen, get dazed by something (don't know the trigger yet), and I walk back out. Meanwhile, my junk food is handy at my bedside!
