moomin
(This is a draft of my third challenge -- I've just got a few minutes before bedtime, but I've got to get this posted or I know I'll never get this done.) Main quest: I have the Heart of an Adventurer! My second challenge here with the Adventurers, and there is no place I'd rather be, at the moment! My main goal for this challenge is to try new and different things, forms of exercises. Going from my previous 2 challenges which only consisted of bodyweight exercises and running, this will shake things up!And I hope I'll find at least one form of exercise that I'll love and I'll do consistently from now on, in addition to the bodyweight exercise and running. Goal 1: Exercise consistentlyMy goal is to exercise every day! I have found that the habit of daily exercise is KEY to success. Or else I will just give myself excuses. Excuse-making is a very easy habit to make and a very difficult habit to get rid of, while the habit of exercise is just opposite -- WHY? Measurable goal- Exercise 5/7 days a week (+STA) - Allow two days for recovery per week Goal 2: Bodyweight exercise upgrade - Balance on a ball + walking up the wallGot a stability ball during Zero Week. Got to figure out how to use it. Will be using it to do planks, push ups and ball crunches at least.I've started on my wall planks during last challenge but stopped doing them after 3 weeks. I've got to pick it back up because I'd really love to be able to do handstands.Measurable goal- BWW 3 sets * 3 times per week (+STR) - Allow for two times per week if other strength intensive exercise done in the week Goal 3: Variety, variety varietyTry new things! And because trying new things ONCE is not indicative of whether I really like it, I will try them multiple times (aiming at weekly). On list: Badminton playing with new badminton group, Yoga and Aerial Yoga, Thai-boxing.Measurable goal- At least 4 times of each of the above listed by end of challenge. (+CHA) Life goal: DrivingAdventurers must be able to get where they want to, so driving is an essential skill. And honestly, I don't drive although I have a license - because - I am afraid. Afraid of crashing, afraid of the mean bad cars out there, afraid of not being able to park the car after I drove it outside... No -- an Adventurer's Heart is brave and tough! I will overcome this fear by practice practice practice.Measurable goal- At least 2 times of driving practice per 2 weeks. (+DEX) - Making allowances here because this will depend on whether there is somebody to take me driving - at least for the first few weeks (real road hazard here ) And I'll also aim to log on here every two days at least!Last, I think I will follow the new thread of RPG fanatics, but I haven't gotten to this yet! Wayyy past my bedtime, more later! Glad to be back in the challenge! 4 *Level 3 Hobbit Adventurer*Moomin 3 - Heart of an Adventurer2 - Maintenance therapy 1- Keep charging ahead "Life is akin to sailing against the current - forge ahead or be washed downstream" -- Ancient Chinese proverb Link to comment

W1D2: 15/4/2014, TuesdayExercise:Swimming x 45 min: 1200m (200 free, 2x200 breast, 4x100 free, 2x100 breast)Havent swum for such a long time. It's quite refreshing! But my pace and form was bad. moomin
Adventurer's mini #1: +1 WISIs your overall quest achievable (over a short or long period of time)? Is it reasonable?Overall quest is to continue my exercise habits and try new forms of exercise for the future. Yes it is achievable and reasonable.Do your 3 main goals all build towards it in little ways, or are you taking on too much?Yes.Are your main goals realistic? Can you scale them to smaller steps to fit your life better, even if it will make it take a little longer to achieve them?I think the goals are practical and realistic. I need to exercise almost every day, and I will fit my life around this goal, because I will find excuses not to do exercise if I fit exercise around my life. Are your goals able to be measured and tracked? What will you use to track them?Yes, I will log on my thread to track. How are you grading your goals? Are they pass/fail (“every dayâ€, “not even once over the six weeksâ€? Is there a reward for the effort, or are you only grading yourself on whether or not you “lose the weight†or “run the distanceâ€?I am grading my effort. The journey is more important than the destination. What is your plan for continuing/altering/grading those goals if you become ill or injured?I will assess the illness/injury and make adjustments. May cut it short into a 5 week challenge, or make up entirely different goals.Did you take into consideration any special occasions (Passover, Easter, Cinco de Mayo, birthdays, anniversaries, etc) that may occur during the challenge? What modifications do you need to build into your goals for those? Not doing a diet goal, does not really apply here.Do any of your main goals conflict with each other? No.Do you already have the time in your schedule to actually complete the goals you’ve set? If not, what are you planning to do to make time for them?I will work my schedule around so I can exercise regularly. Are you trying to build multiple habits, or is all your energy focused on your main quest? There are multiple new things I'll be doing in this challenge: yoga/ thaibox/ badminton/ driving, but I think I can do it.Adventurer's mini #2: Joined accountability group RPG fanatics +1 CHA 1 *Level 3 Hobbit Adventurer*Moomin 3 - Heart of an Adventurer2 - Maintenance therapy 1- Keep charging ahead "Life is akin to sailing against the current - forge ahead or be washed downstream" -- Ancient Chinese proverb Link to comment

The variety goal can also help me find new things to do that I really like. The running and BBWW that I've been doing were fine, but there is very little human interaction involved in that.
