Hello, Rebellion.

Time again for my sixth challenge! Yes, I'm a man of few words. ;)

MAIN QUEST: To be consistent with my CrossFit workouts and to learn new techniques and skills.

SIDE QUESTS:

~ Keep a workout log of my CrossFit WODS. This helps me track my progress and detect any deficiencies.

~ Keep up with my weekly 3-5 miles runs. (Hopefully accompanied by a particular monk.)

~ No more croissants! I've become addicted to these things and need to cut them out completely.

LIFE QUESTS:

~ Call and/or text my mom weekly. I know it sounds silly but this is something I need to do. My mom has made it pretty clear to me that she feels bad when I don't keep in touch with her. :(

TUESDAY APRIL 14 2014

CrossFit WOD:

5 Rounds for Time:

30 Double-Unders or 150 Singles

30 Wall Ball Shots (18 lbs)

10 Toes to Bar

* Time was about 25 minutes. I did single jump ropes with a couple DU's thrown in. The wall ball shots are what killed me, though. I can't seem to find the right rhythm for it....

* My mom actually sent a mass text message to my siblings and I today asking if we were going to buy Google Glasses! I told her no.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 16 2014

CrossFit WOD:

Skill Work: Worked on snatches, push press (snatch grip), and over head squats

Then,

An ascending ladder starting from 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc of Hand Stand Push Ups and Box Jumps!

I did modified HSPU's from the box and did 30" box jumps. It's been awhile since I've jumped on the 30" box so this workout was very refreshing....

THURSDAY APRIL 17 2014

CrossFit WOD:

6x5 sets of Thrusters at 95 lbs

Then,

10, 9, 8, 7, 6.....3,2,1 of:

Deadlifts (185 lbs)

Chest slap Push-ups

The thrusters felt good and even brought back memories of 14.5 (shudder!). The WOD went well; although, I ended up doing hand release push ups to get it done. Those chest slap push-ups can wear you out quick!

Afterwards, SIDE LIFE QUEST HAS BEEN ACHIEVED! :D

The employee at the shoe store said I was "flat footed" and was surprised that I didn't suffer from any foot injuries due to the deteriorating condition of my previous shoes. I'm going to miss them greatly, but it was definitely time for a change.

FRIDAY APRIL 18 2014

CrossFit WOD:

4 x 5 sets of Front Squats @ 175 lbs

3 Rounds for Time:

10 Push Jerks (115 lbs)

11 Pull-Ups

12 DB Snatch (35 lbs)

My Metcon time was 9:48. It was a good, tough workout. I need to string my pull-ups better, but other than that; things went well.

Afterwards, I went for a 5 mile run to break in the new shoes. They felt great!

SATURDAY APRIL 19 2014

CrossFit WOD:

5 Rounds of:

50 meter walking lunges w/ 25 lbs sandbag

20 Burpees

This was actually a different workout than the regular saturday WOD. I joined a friend of mine who was doing his own thing. This was not easy, but it felt great afterwards. My friend did the same workout - only with a 50 lbs vest and 50 lbs sandbag!

THURSDAY MAY 1 2014

Front Squats

5-5-5-5-5

(Used 115 lbs. Felt good.)

For Reps:

10 minute ENOM (Every Minute on the Minute)

Odd minutes: Power Snatches (75 lbs)

Evens: Wall Ball Shots (20 lbs)

This WOD felt very sluggish. I was probably still recovering from my Chicago trip. Oh, well. Still got it done.

FRIDAY MAY 2 2014

Push Jerks

5-5-5-5-5

(Did the rep scheme with 105 lbs. Got a PR by hitting 185 lbs! :))

5 x 2 Minute AMRAP

12 Kettlebell Swings (50 lbs)

9 Box Jumps (24")

Maximum Effort Squats

Nice METCON workkout. Still felt a bit slow, but didn't have any major issues.

Great workout. I love doing Tabata work. It's a fantastic way to get your blood pumping and adrenaline rushing. Anaerobic workouts are the best!

Yes, way past overdue but better late than never! ;)

RESULTS!

~ Keep a workout log of my CrossFit WODS.

I failed poorly at this goal. I started out pretty consistent, but then lost steam. I need to make sure I document these things so I know what I need to work on.

~ Keep up with my weekly 3-5 miles runs.

I managed to keep up with these runs thanks to my new shoes and the Cheech.

~ No more croissants!

This goal was a success! I pretty much have cut these out completely!

LIFE QUESTS:

~ Call and/or text my mom weekly.

Done! I spent the entirety of Mother's Day with her as well.

SIDE-SIDE QUEST: Accompany Devyn to Circus Class whenever possible!

Ah, no. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to attend Circus Class.
