Hi guys. I've missed you. I've missed having support. So I decided to make a (late) challenge thread. Not for goal-making, but for support-getting, and accountability-keeping. So i've been trying to lose some weight, and am in the midst of a cutting challenge with some other nerds, but I really haven't made any progress. I've noticed on days I track my food, I tend to be under my calories. Which means on days I don't track (most days), I must be eating too much. Or drinking too much (booze). Or both. So Imma try this tracking thing again.

 

Also I just got back in the gym this week after my SI joint issues. I'm still trying to find a program I can follow. I'm trying to do my PT stuff while I'm at the gym because it's far more likely that I'll get them done than if I wait until I get home. So that cuts my already-short gym time by at least 15 minutes. I already take long lunches; I hate to stretch that out even more. I've been lucky that my boss hasn't said anything.

 

I also want to start running a mile every day. Or most days. So far I've gone twice this week, which is a vast improvement over the nothing that I was doing ;) Right now mile time is just over 13 minutes. Whew. Cardiovascular endurance has gone down the tubes.

 

Re: other stuff, I've started seeing a therapist for ADHD (and possibly depression), mostly to get my shit in order and address my dysfunctional thought patterns. I've come to realize that every time I do something wrong, or not exactly right, or even if someone disagrees with me, it becomes "I am a failure at life." So, working to turn that around. I have a psych eval on May 10 which I am both anticipating and dreading. I've never seen a psychiatrist before (I've always gotten my antidepressants from my PCP) so I have no idea what to expect.

 

That's it in a nutshell. Hopefully I'll keep with the tracking. And I'll try to follow some peeps but I get awfully overwhelmed. Especially coming back in the middle of a challenge like this and I see some people already have 7 pages (I'm looking at you, Catspaw). So my attendance may be spotty at best. But I miss my nerds. Badly.

Eating too many calories under consistently can lead to your body holding on the fat too. Don't forget that part. It could be a case of too little as opposed to too much.

Bigs - I'm good with Bond. That's why I made the title the way I did.

 

Lulu - this is truth. (both the you love me more and the calorie thing, although maybe you love me equally because I DID motorboat both of you and you were both totes ok with it) BUT. we have been eating out a lot and i haven't been tracking. so. pretty sure it is not too few calories. :)

 

roo - we need to get our asses together and get to j's gym sometime.

Oh, she's definitely concerned about you being a serial killer. ;)

 

I'm not 100% sure on the meet - J hasn't been around much lately, but the other coach at his gym told me they were probably targeting 5/11 for their meet (this was back in March).  I just sent J an email to try and confirm.

Nice. Well let me know.  Funny - I just sent him a fb message to pick his brain re: programming. I suck at doing it myself and I don't want to get stuck with a case of fuckarounditis.

 

Get ahold of me via text or fb whenever you want to do a game night - I am so down. Down like a clown? Iunno.

Expect good things from the psychiatrist. My PCP almost put me on straight up Prozac without a second thought and it turns out it was something else I needed.

Funny. I was on Prozac for years. I thought it helped for a long time (I managed to work full time and finish a degree with a great GPA while on it) but I stopped taking it because it "stopped working" and now I'm questioning if it actually helped or if it was just my pure, unadulterated awesomeness that got me through school.

Well, having people to stalk you helps, doesn't it? I know the support in my challenge thread from fellow stalkers has helped me loads. =]
