Welcome, we're glad to have you here. I'm fairly new here also so I don't know how much I can offer in advice other than to set small goals so you don't get overwhelmed. Great to see that your improved health is happening already (shorter sick time). I and I'm sure many more others will be rooting for you.

I'm not asking you to respond but your initial intro post reminds me that I suffer from depression (not a serious case though) and I've found over the last few months of keeping active, I am less dependent on the medication to the point that since having signed up and been going to the gym over the last 6 weeks or so (3-4x/wk) plus cycling to work (3-5x/wk), I haven't needed any of my medication in the last 6 wks (but I have them at home and at work, just in case). Exercise and fitness help both physical and mental health and I'm sure that your health will benefit from fitness just as mine has. The first few weeks are the hardest but once you're on a regular fitness schedule, you'll find it hard to stop. Logs, as you have, also are great motivation.

You tell by the way I walk I'm a Nerd's Nerd, to time to talk!

Su cuy'gar, Umodiel. I'm John, the King of Lame, and I would like to welcome you to the REBELLION!
*Heavy metal guitar riffs and explosions*
(Despite being a few days late.)

As a relatively new rebel myself I can't say I can offer too much BUT I can try and if I cannot I can find someone who can. One of the beautiful things about the Rebellion is that there are so many people here that are willing and wanting to assist. This is the most supportive place I've ever found for peopel who are searching to improve their health and fitness levels. Should you ever have questions about anything, there is someone who can answer. And there are people like me who can try and bring laughs. It's what we do.

I can see you already have some thing in mind for what you want to do. You have a good head on your shoulders and you have the drive to get it done. These are all great, especially when you are a beginner on here. I started with a supremely vague idea of how I was going to get to my goal. I'm pleased to see so many new bloods having an idea of what they want and how to get there.

A cartwheel in exotic places sounds positively do-able. I'm looking to be able to do handstands in various places I go to, so I hope to see you get to your goal.

Should you ever need support or assistance of any kind. Just remember: you're a rebel now. We Rebels have to watch each other's backs.
I wish you a difficult yet vastly rewarding journey, Umodiel.
Kick some ass!

Hi Umodiel,

I completely missed your introduction (the same way I miss mostly of them, too busy and time zones...).

But you made such a nice one, that now I've found it I had to answer :)

First of all, welcome here! We're happy to have you around. You'll find this IS the place to talk about fitness without feeling weird. I've never been a very active person, and I've noticed since I started exercise, that most people are not only sedentary, but don't even like to talk about someone not being it. A way of protecting themselves for not feeling bad?

Stuffing back all the years of negativity. I've been there. It's not fun. And there many ups and downs in your wait out. But exercising will help you a lot. I've always been a very anxious person and this is the first time of my life I think I'm winning the battle. Being outside, much walking, fun workouts... Energy levels will increase and you will feel good most of days.

And about the cartwheel, what must I say, when I dream of it every day of my life? ;)  I hope there will be a day when we will do non-stop cartwheels in the park.

I've taken a look to your blogs. I see you have a porn food log, that's great! And I LOVED the last picture on your G.O GO. Nice thought on the footnote.

An Austen book freak... that's the first time I've seen it! ;)

Wish you a very long nerdfitness life. See you around!

Hi Umodiel, just remember when you feel down there are many people on here happy to give you a lift and maybe a laugh.

This is the best fitness community by far, non judgemental, supportive and no "posers".

It's never to late to be the person you always wanted to be.

The voice in your head telling you that you can't do it is a damn liar.

Endorphins, the best high you can have.
