[Katastrophenkatzchen]Better late than never. Practise challenge

Sadly, I just found this message board 3 days ago, so I am way too late for the current challenges. But as Latniss suggested I' ll do this as a practice challenge and dive in the next challenge when it starts.

 

Better late than never!

 

Main goal: Drop 2 dress sizes and get in the habit of exercising

On the picture there are my current and my goal weight from the time where I had 2 dress sizes less. I intend to lose 10 cm in all measurements.

 

Challenges:

1.) Keeping a food log (I tend to snack mindlessly)

A-6+ days/week

B - 5 days /week

C - 4 days/week

F- less than 4 days/week

2.)Take the stairs instead of the elevator (exception: after grocery shopping)

A- 5 days/week

B- 4 days/week

C-3 days/week

F- less than 3 days/week

3.)Take the 30-days yoga challenge. It's said to be even for beginners. (Will continue till the beginning of the next challenge)

A-completed 25-30 days

B-completed 20-25 days

C- completed 15-20 days

F- less than 14 days

4.) Find a real yoga class to attend every second week.

I know it is essential to have a real course to learn the movements correct but have difficulties to find the right course. So I want to try one course every week and have the right one at the end of the challenge.

Bust: 102 cm

waist: 82 cm

Hip: 114 cm

This shall be for me to collect my future goals or things to try:

 

- start geocaching

- learning about emotional brain training

- learn to be more patient

- reduce and ultimately stop being quick tempered/choleric

- stop procrastinating!!!

- Vegetable alphabet!

- Reduce my bodyfat % from 40(?) to 25% (measured with tape measurement method from this website)

- start "Zombie, Run!"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

edit: I think I did something wrong in the first measuring of body fat percentage.... with the stats from the first weight in it says 33% (see attached picture)post-29246-0-29788100-1400224975_thumb.p.

Will check in the next weeks to see, what it does and then we'll see.

 

Week 2 weight-in says 32.51% body fat.

By the way... my goal measurements(weight 75 kg, waist 75 cm, hips 102 cm) give me a 24.22% body fat according to the calculator... so it's a pretty realistic goal. Tape measurements seem a quite unstable method to track the progress but for now it has to be enough.

Thank you very much!

I'll check that out alongside with the youtube channel TaraStiles.

The neat thing about the 30 days yoga challenge is that you get the videos emailed every day and you have a 10-20 min "workout" ready for you.

I like that  for starters :)

Welcome! You are going to do great!

 

I am definitely going to have to check out 30 Day Yoga Challenge. That sounds wicked. Once you get downward dog you will love it. It is a great way to stretch your calves too.

 

If you need or want more incentive to tracking your meals check out gympact. you can make money off of eating healthy and exercising. It is super worth checking out. :D

Good luck with your challenge!

 

I'm also a beginning Geocacher, just registered on the site (my Id is Sabrina VG) but I haven't got any finds yet. But I've ordered an Outdoor-GPS yesterday so hopefully I'll be able to get started soon.

 

I'm also interested in yoga and might check out that 30 Day Challenge for one of my upcoming challenges!

I convinced bf to take a walk to a bio-supermarket ( we didn't get something fancy I need and we need our Eco-friendly tabs for the dishwasher). Plus I walked around quite a lot today doing some errands after the dentist (buuuuh dentist!).

I COULD have take the stairs a second time today but due to some heart racing after eating a mint drop ( dextrose is the culpit maybe) I took the elevator upstairs and walked downstairs.

It's all about willpower and discipline!

And about accountability. I told my boyfriend about this ( after worshiping the Nerd Fitness idea for about a week and tell him about the guilds and stuff).

He said it " would be nice if you could keep it up this time."

 

would, if, could.... I will and I can!

 

On the other hand he proposed to not buy any soda again so I'm not tempered in my Soda skipping challenge and change of life.

So, came right after my morning yoga. Today was great! Yesterday was a bit of a sucker, core training yoga with focus on the advanced. Near impossible for beginners to hold all those poses and very few alternatives for beginners.

Today was lower back, I liked it a lot!

 

I am really thrilled of tomorrow, then we'll tackle the crow pose!

I know I can't do it yet, but I want to start with the preparations. Maybe I'll do a list of poses I want to be able to do someday.

Goal 4: Find a real yoga course...

I've found 4 classes near me, that I'll try(all pages in german, sry!):

 

1)Sivananda Pro: Drop-in classes after beginner course, trial lesson free Contra: beginner classes start at certain time on different days, so I'm forced to start the course with the day I can go even if it starts in 1 month

2)Yogaschule-Steglitz Pro:trial lesson free, Contra: just memberships with weekly classes, no drop in

3)Herzundbauch Pro:class time is on friday noon, you can buy "season cards" (go 5 times whenever you want) Contra: trial lesson costs 13€

4)yoga trinity Pro: well... Contra: monthly membership, trial lesson cost 10€

 

At the moment I favorite 1 and 3.

I vote for drop-in, it's nice to be able to do yoga when you're in the mood and you can stick to a firm schedule if you want. I'm kinda amazed that all the studios aren't like that. These studios also don't seem to have a ton of class times. Maybe European yoga studios are very different from Canadian ones...

What a great mini-challenge! How are you liking the yoga-challenge so far?

It's awesome! I feel totally awake after doing the videos in the morning. Some have been pretty hard for a beginner and I tend to push myself too hard to do it "right". That's why I hate the downward dog.... not way I can stretch my legs fully at the moment, always have to bend the knees. This really annoys me xD

Crow pose today was awesome. Even when I can't lift my feet off the ground yet I really want to do it. And I know that I need a real instructor to check my pose. Knees on the arms hurt so much today I think I've done it wrong :)

 

I vote for drop-in, it's nice to be able to do yoga when you're in the mood and you can stick to a firm schedule if you want. I'm kinda amazed that all the studios aren't like that. Yoga seems to have a really esoteric vibe here. You see tons of fitness center but very few yoga classes.

I'm also amazed that the drop-in concept isn't adopted in all studios. Nowadays people have so busy shedules there should always be a way to squeeze in a little workout or yoga class.

These are all free instituts, they don't belong to a fitness studio. I don't like the monthly fees of fitness studios :( Poor students can hardly pay them...
